whats the best wm 6.5 rom, my phone was on orange but is now unlocked and working on the 3 network, it runs 6.1 on the standard rom. I would like wm6.5 but am new to this so would like some advise on which rom to choose. i like the look of the touch flo 3d but dont know if this will work. would also like to know where i can download the roms from.

i had a problem with my htc p3300 that was freezing all the time
i have windows mobile 6 on it now and i want to upgrade it to windows mobile 6.1 and was wondering which of the rom would you recommend to me:
this what i found so far:
1) Oop's Black v1.0 WWE CE OS 5.2.19949 ( Aku 1.2 )
2) Artemis Touch Roms WWE WM6.1(3.01)(4.0)(4.01)(4.02)
3) 4.02 Vanilla

i've found Ooops black to be best for me. tried loads too.. gonna try the manilla 2d 1's this week and see what there like..
YuE ROMs are the best, esp 4.4. You can search and get them from this forum.
Its like saying does Chocolate milkshake taste better than banana milkshake. You have to try it to taste it.
Personally i have tried so many roms, i have had problems one way or another.
Freshly installed worked for a couple of days, then you find out it has stability issues.
Im currently using 4.02 Vanilla with no apps installed into the main device mem, but apps running of the mem card. Seems to be the stablest rom i have used.
I would say each to their own.
I've tried loads of roms as well and settled for Vanilla 4.02 without
cube, cause I find it just works better , I also use Ultimate launch
with it and it looks good,
Just waiting to try one of the Manilla roms but waiting till all the problems are ironed out

Touchflow hd theme? You mean tf3d aka manilla? If yes, you need this in your wm 6.5 ROM.

ahh cool. but i guess the 6.5 ROM dont come with the Manilla theme, so i mean i can insert it later on and change it over from normal 6.5 theme to Manilla ?

TF3D is kind of operating system overlay, not a theme. It needs to be cooked in to the rom to have it on your phone. You can't add it later. Most roms have it already, though many rom makers offer 'lite' versions of their roms which might not have TF3D (or manila). The only way to know is to take a look at the rom you're interested in's thread and see which version is right for you.

ahh cool good to know. im just about to buy HTC HD, I like Iphone but i would preffer winmob for myself as i know what is what.
another question: my phone will be locked in Orange so a rom upgrade will do sim unlock.
if not then if i pay to get my sim unlocked then if i do ROM upgrade will it make it locked again?
or sim unlock is just a one off thing and it will go unlock forever?

I'm on Orange too, and I've flashed a custom rom (Dutty R4 currently). This does not unlock the phone (just tried an O2 sim card and got 'network locked' message), you'll have to get Orange to unlock it for you. It should then be unlocked regardless of which rom you flash or how many times you change rom on it.

All the information you need to do what you're requesting is right here in this tutorial! Don't ask anyone which is the best ROM because there isn't a best ROM - there are ROM's you like and ROM's you don't.
There are quite a few 6.5 ROM's available, you'll just have to try them and see which suits your needs
Can someone please post a guide to installing TouchFLO 3D 2.5 or 2.6 on a "clean" rom I have Miri's standard 28011 rom and have customized alot in 4 days and do not want to reinstall just to play with TouchFLO 3D. is there a cab or files to copy to do it, or is there a way to dump my current rom 100% and restore it later.

AFAIK nobody has gotten this working for the HD and generally if you want manila you need to flash to a rom with manila cooked in. (I believe it is possible, but as I say I haven't seen it for the HD).
You can use an app like Sprite Backup to do a complete backup of your rom and all settings and if you do want to return to your old rom, just flash back and restore the backup and all is back to as it was.

I don't need wm 6.5 and htc messaging, new notifications, tweet, footprints and beautiful but slooooow phone and turbo battery shutdown.

Sense 2.5 is tied into many of the updates MS put into WM 6.5 - I don't think it can work on WM 6.1, and I haven't seen any 6.1/2.5 roms.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but that was based on the old 2.5 I think, I'll check if I can find it.

PS It is a very old version of 2.5 and you may have trouble getting much of it to work.

Yesterday I read any websites und tryed a lot of roms...
My fav 6.5 ROM: Satus ROM 2.7c - Windows Phone 6.5 - Sense 2.5 build 2012..
I think it looks fine, no crashes..

Give my "Basics: TouchFlo3D" 1.2 or 2.1 roms a try. Might be close to what you are looking for.
