put files in the right directory like "program files", "start menu"
In a lot of languages directories like "program files" or "start menu" are not the same.
In dutch "program files" is "programmabestanden"...
How can you cook a package so the files are placed in the right directory? Isn't there a universal "character" of "code" for it?
does nobody has the solution please?
No, there isnt.
In my kitchen you can see the initflashfiles.dat (in the OEM\Arte\xxxx\OEM_Lang_xxxx).
Everything is stored in that file!
and how about the regfiles? also in that folder? because the location is also different

Trying to edit my own ROM from Black 3.5 and want to move the "Office Mobile" folder link that appears on the \Windows\Start Menu folder. The problem is that there's no mention of it in initflashfiles.dat or on my registry search so how does it end up there?
Got it, mxipupdate_office_100.provxml
I assume provxml's are run automaticly, but anyway I can go do some more searching now...
Now I'm stuck on how to change the 21#:MSPWORD link
Can someone please help me with this.
I've got a p3600i and have installed TomTom and the Australia v6.75 map onto the internal memory.
TomTom loads up and goes through the normal initial setup but then comes to a screen saying "NO MAPS FOUND".
I have tried putting the maps on the root folder of the device; in the my documents folder; in the program files/navigator folder; in the tomtom folder... nothing works.
TomTom seems to look for maps on a storage card by default. Is there a way to force TomTom to look for maps on the internal memory instead?
I would prefer to have my maps and TomTom loaded onto the device and only have music/pictures on the storage card.
Thanks in Advance
That's strange, I have TomTom on storage card and it works flawlessly...

Ok got it to work. Here's what I did.
1. Install TomTom cab as you normally would; it should put TomTom.exe and a Data file into the "program files/navigator" directory.
**BEFORE YOU RUN TOMTOM FOR THE 1st TIME***
2. Create a new folder called TomTom in the "My Documents" folder.
3. Move the TomTom files from "program files/navigator" directory to "My Documents/TomTom".
4. Delete "Program Files/Navigator" folder.
5. Move the folder containing your desired map to "My Documents" e.g. "My Documents/Australia"
***Soft Reset***
6. Start TomTom from "My Documents/TomTom" folder and go through the initial setup as per usual. It should see the map now. Once everything is setup exit the program.
7. Recreate "Program files/Navigator" directory
8. Move all the files in "My Documents/TomTom" to "Program Files/Navigator"
I've been trying a million and one things so I'm not sure that this is the most efficient way to do this. There might be a quicker and easier method, but that's what worked for me.
If the above doesn't work, try going "Setting"-> "Bluetooth" on "FTP" tab then make sure the two options "open bluetooth browser" and "open file sharing" are both unchecked, exit "Setting" and try again.
By turning off these options to make sure TomTom won't try to look in the bluetooth browser which confuses map searching when TomTom is activated

Wow, how do you get the maps to fit in internal memory? My European map is almost 1 gig... I'm just curious, why not put the maps on a miniSD?

The AUS map is only 100MB. The p3600i has about 180MB of usable ROM. I prefer to have my miniSD for just music & pictures. I like to run all apps and programs from the device itself.
Just personal preference I guess
Does anyone know the .lnk for the Settings folder page? I dont need the one for the folder itself but the one to the regular page showing in icons view Hopefully someone out there understands what Im trying to ask for.
+1
More specifically, is there a LNK that points to the Windows DEFAULT Settings folder, not the Manila Settings (which is HTCSettingsEntry.exe contained in settings.lnk in the Windows/Start Menu/Programs folder).
I believe it's going to be something along the lines of ctlpnl.exe... but I can't find the solution.
Anyone???
Just create folder ''Settings'' in Windows\Start Menu folder - restart device and you will have Settings folder back in start menu.
I have Igo on SD card as folders"not installed" So i'd like to added it to Programes menu on the manila
So please give me advise to do it
thank you all
Use "Total Commander" and create a Shortcut to your "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" Folder
So, as I'm beginning to tire of having to keep moving all of my shortcuts after each new ROM flash for organization, I made a small little script to do that for me.
However, part of it isn't working. It will successfully move shortcuts from the root of start menu to other folders, but will not copy shortcuts off of my storage card into the start menu. Any ideas why?
Here's that part of the script:
Code:
Copy ("\Storage Card\Garmin.lnk" , "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs")
Copy ("\Storage Card\Garmin\Garmin.png" , "\Windows")
RegWriteString ("HKLM" , "\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\Garmin.lnk" , "Icon" , "\Windows\Garmin.png")
Could someone please help?
Regards
Smith
I figured out why. It's because "Storage Card" has to be shortened to "Storage"
I changed the script though. Instead of copying a link, I'm creating a new one.
Code:
CreateShortCut("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Garmin.lnk" , "\Storage Card\Garmin\Apps\QuePPC.exe" , TRUE)
Yes, the target parameter still says "Storage Card." That is because WINDOWS wil be interpreting that from the link once it has been created. So, if the parameter were simply "Storage" windows would be unable to find that and the link would be invalid.
Geez, been too long since I've coded. Too many dumb errors lol.
