Any way to stop this.. I used the registry to stop it from waking up due to my magnetic case.. i have the notifications to make a noise and flash the led... i dont want it to come out of standby to tell me about an upcoming appt (the dismiss/snooze notice) cause i keep pocket running apps or pocket dialing my sense 2.5 front shortcuts!
ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!

Try this: Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications > Event: Reminders > uncheck "Display message on screen."
I hope that solves the problem!
thanks! i will try that and get back to you
UPDATE: damn... this doesnt work... for "reminders" in settings/notifications i only have flash light, play sound, and vibrate selected and the screen/phone wakes up/resumes and if it had been in my pocket or whatever i'd be calling people.. any other ideas?

Sorry about that. I just noticed myself right now that my phone woke up for a reminder.
Hmm... I don't know, but I think you should get a working screenlocker. I use TouchLockPro (now you can use your zoombar as an unlock bar). I set it up so that when the screen wakes, the phone instantly locks.
If you decide to use TouchLockPro, the settings are a little hard to understand (I followed the Settings instructions in the developer's website). If you need help with the settings, or if you want an example of my settings, feel free to PM me.
try this ..
warlock...thanks for that cab.. but it didnt work...at least not for calendar reminders.. i will test it on txt msgs as that would help as well
sumflipnol: thanks.. i guess i will have to look into screen locks.. its just annoying cause im fine with the "screen lock except for power button" behavior of winmo.. but if it could just stay asleep for the reminders (other than the sound/led/vibrate options) it'd be perfect
ill let you know if that locking program works out for me
hold down the end button
locks the screen wont but dial or open apps when the screen wakes up

I believe you're referring to the default Windows Mobile SmartLock (auto-lock). I have that on my phone, and it's not very reliable. My phone sometimes wakes up on my desk, and I notice that Sense2.5 is active (SmartLock obviously failed to auto-launch the WM screenlock). From my week-long experience with TouchLockPro, the screen locks immediately without that small lag, and it's very consistent.
There must be a way!
I'd like to ressurrect this thread to see if anyone has any further ideas.
I also prefer to just use the power-button method of putting my phone into standby rather than mess around with screen locks or anything.
I've disabled wake-up-on-SMS. But it still wakes up whenever there's a reminder for an appointment.
Surely there's a way to stop this behaviour!....
It's an open question, so far...
As many of you, I would like to disable the device wake up for reminders. Same as you, I just want the sound and / or light notification for them.
I've been searching WEB, all XDA forum and my phone registry but I haven't found anything useful for reminders, just for SMS.
The same issue has been posted in other places (for example, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=615633) but there's no final answer yet.
Definitely, lock screen is not enough, because if the device wakes up and the screen turns on, it can keep on for a long time (caused by the screen being pressed because the phone movement inside the pocket) and battery drains very fast.

I was looking at my HD today and had an idea.
I use a silicone cover/case, and hence it covers the power button (LED light)... so my idea was some sort of visual notification via the display for various items (such as missed call, new SMS, etc.)
This idea comes in part from the Diamond's visual notification via the round circle/d-pad.
I think this would be possible... here is my thinking:
Since the phone already "wakes up" during a call/missed call... and there is the "wake on SMS" option as well -- then after either, have a program change the screen to black (hide TouchFLO or Today Screen), and display a design or color pattern on the screen. I think the program would also have to prevent the screen from going to sleep and/or offer a timer setting for this. In any case, displaying something on the screen to alert you to a missed call... something like a screen saver.
Once a program is created, then the fun part will be creating new designs / patterns / colors for the screen.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks.
Anyone?
Or anyone at least think this is a good idea? Or perhaps, are there other programs out there like this?
Thanks!
I think it's a great idea, to be honest.
With the creativity of people in these forums, it shouldn't be an impossible mission

Sounds interesting I wonder how it would be on the battery though. I think it would be nice if the screen would light up but maybe not as bright as the notification on the Raphael but something to that effect. I like the idea though.
i like it too.. i think im gonna try writing something for this one!
Any updates on this one?
Or any one know of any other programs out there that might do something similar. I hate not knowing I have missed calls/SMS.
Thanks all...
I saw in an other post a program that vibrates/sounds the device in a set interval until you acknowledge the missed call/sms.
No idea where it's located, but the search functionallity can do wonders.
I use S2U2, and if I understand your requirements correctly, it does exactly that.
I usually have the phone switched off using the power button (so the screen is blank). If there is a missed call or a new sms, my phone automatically wakes up and S2U2 gives me notifications about new SMS and/or missed call.
Under the Windows power settings, I have the phone configured to turn off backlight after 10 seconds, and the the option 'Turn off device if not used for' option disabled. This makes sure my device does not go back to sleep if there is a missed call or SMS. You also need to have the option to show missed calls and SMS alerts in S2U2 settings enabled. So when a call is missed or new SMS, my phone will be awake with backlight switched off. If I tap on the screen, S2U2 will show my anything I have missed.
I think you also need 'Wake up on new SMS' option enabled in HD Tweak.
PhoneAlarm
Or you can use Phone Alarm, this can be set to repeat alarm noticifcations for missed calls, messages, etc including vibration and sound options for each type of alarm. Also, offers an otpion whether or not the backlight comes on. Have been using this softwarte for years, also provides profile options.

Hi, Checked out the Website, Looks Good... Does it work with TF3D??
Tnx
Thanks for the replies,
I actually already use PhoneAlarm from Pocketmax. It works GREAT on my Touch HD. What's neat about it, is that it has an option where it makes a softkey at the bottom to toggle between your Today Screen and TouchFLO.
What exactly I was looking for was some "visual" notification of a missed call/sms. This would be both functional and "cool" to see.
The thought comes from the HTC Diamond, where the light around the d-pad flashes in a circle.
Of course on the Touch HD, the only option would be on the display. So I was thinking of cool screen designs (like a screensaver), where if you had a missed call or SMS, the phone would "wake up" but then show some sort of design.
[As I was typing this I paused at this point and went to research S2U2 more... and I am going to try it out right now -- it does seem to do what I am looking for!]
However, if anyone reads what I mentioned above and has any other ideas (or even a more of a simple program) that would do the same, let us know... THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!!
-Keith
I installed S2U2 and i didn't find it of any use (My original intention was to install to provide the Iphone Like Slier). I recall it does show you on screen if you have received a text, not sure if their was a visual notification.
I will have to read up on S2U2 and see what other benefits it has.
So many Apps out their that do so many different things, it's like being a kid in a sweetshop. I guess it's about deciding which app to use based on what you need it for.
Nevertheless...Absolutely brilliant work from all those who actually take time out to develop these apps - and can't thank them enough!
Let me know how S2U2 works for you and meanwhile i'll read up on it again
All the best...
I tried phonealarm, but
Heh Keith,
I actually love phonealarm and have used it for years. But now, though I've been in touch with the developer who btw provides excellent cs, I'm quite convinced that PA is causing a heavy battery drain. I've been experimenting with PA on, then uninstall it, reinstall it, etc. Yesterday, started with a full charge and with PA, 5 hours later down to 60%. I was able to uninstall PA with about 60% charge remaining and immediately, the drain stopped. Charge stayed above 60% for the next several hours. BTW, this is on a fuze. I've also checked all settings in PA. The developer says he did note that he saw a big power drop from the PA logs, but couldn't determine what caused it. Curious how PA is working for you.
I just don't get it
So maybe I'm making a fool of myself-talking to myself at least. I just did a whole day's worth of testing with and without PA. Now there seems to be no difference or perhaps just a very little. The only things that I did different this time was loaded PA after I installed all of the other apps (rather than before) and I didn't enable touch flo support. I wonder if that could be it. With touch flo support enabled, then touch flo runs in the background? Did I read that somewhere in another thread?
If you dont want/need all the bells & whistles & want a 'light' program try alarm pal by the same mob as phone alarm.
I've been using it for awhile on the HTC HD.
If I miss a call/sms/mail it plays an alert every few minutes till I acknowledge it.
I figure I am more likely to 'hear' an alert than 'see' an alert
http://www.pocketmax.net/alarmPal.html
More than half the time I take my phone out of it's case in my pocket to check texts or call somebody, it's always on and eating battery. Alot of the time I have the phone in vibrate or silent because I can't have it going off most of the day, and whenever I get any kind of notification the screen comes on (text, alarm, call, ect.), and then the screen ends up staying on because it's constantly being bumped and never has the time to shut itself down.
Is there any way I can make the screen stay off at ALL times (except on an incoming call), and ONLY come on when I press the unlock/power button on the top of the phone?
I have a TMobile TP2 and I'm running the Nov. 19th, Photon Energy ROM. Upgrading to the Nov. 27th version when it's done downloading but I don't think that will fix the problem as I've changed ROMs before. Thanks to any help.
you will find that when in the case it should be off, on taking the phone out of the case (i assume the HTC one that came with the phone?)
the magnet in the case triggers the keyboard sensor which turns the screen on.
otherwise, you can change the display time out in power options under settings.
Cheers
Steve
That's interesting, I've heard about the case doing that but never thought about it. Would you recommend any cheap cases, or is there a specific magnet location I should be careful of? And do you know if there is a way to keep the screen off when I get a text message for example?
There is a way to fix this... it is to disable "Wake on Slide." I have done this and no more problems.
Here is a link to what to do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2945249&postcount=3
Hope it helps you, as it did me.
Thanks for the reply and I appreciate the help, but I don't really have a problem with the wake on keyboard slide, it seems that if the phone is in my pocket locked, and I get a text message, the screen comes on to notify me that I have a text message. Then, it's usually being bumped around in my pocket and since the touch screen is usable with any object, it will stay on because something will tap it in my pocket. The phone then heats up over time and drains battery. I want to find a way to keep the screen off at all times unless, I either receive a call, or push the power button. Thanks.

Try:
go to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
change DisableSMSWakeUpEvent to 1 (0 will wake up the device)
On my Rhodium, it does not wake up by default. I hear the notification, but my screen remains dark
Or try this cab file ... soft reset after install
Thanks for the .cab, I'm restarting now to see if it fixes the problem. Kind of random, but I might as well ask here before starting a new thread. I started using Mobile Shell instead of TF3D and so far I love it, but when setting a wallpaper, the wallpapers that I would normally use in TF3D, (480x800), it makes me select or crop out part of the photo to use as a background in Mobile Shell. I can't tell if it actually gets blurry (I would think so, because it's stretching the picture), but does anyone know why it wants me to only use a certain portion of the background instead of just setting the entire picture? Thanks,
More than likely, the version of Mobile Shell you have is either not designed for WVGA or there is a setting somewhere in there that allows you to change it and you haven't found it yet.
Am not a expert on mobile Shell, but according to their website, the latest version (3.5) does support WVGA.
Another option is to, if you have Adobe Photo shop or something similar, scale down the entire picture to the size it reccomends.
Otherwise, if you have a version earlier then 3.5, maybe you could upgrade and see if it makes any difference.
I can make the SMS stop waking the phone via advanced config that is stock on my current ROM.
I want to keep my phone from coming out of sleep mode when I get a reminder. When it is in my pocket, I do not want it to wake up untill I take it out and push the button.
Thank you,
Jeff
Ditto. Me too.
anyone found a solution ?
I'm a bit confused about what's being asked... it sounds like you're saying you don't want a reminded to remind you... you just want it to tell you that you missed it when you check your phone two hours after your appointment. Would you also, perhaps, like an alarm clock that doesn't make any noise when the alarm goes off?
it should not wake the device, as in "turn on the display, and react to touch" , so it goes bananas in the pocket.
It should play a sound, and/or vibrate and/or flash light - as configured in notifications.
- just don't activate the display...
in other words; same as with new SMS or Email notification..
Me too.
I have the same issue. I have my phone synched with my work computer (outlook). I would like the reminders to appear on the computer only.
Anyone using TouchLockPro or PocketShield?
What are your impressions, pros/cons?
Thanks
Touch lock pro is really good but i removed it because some major features weren't working, maybe its just the ROM i used. But its great!
I was using s2u2, but kept having issues, probably has more to do that I don't use a stock rom, versus the program, but I switched to pocket shield and have no issues with it. I don't use all the features, just mainly the screen lock.

hmm good to know...I was about to ask about S2U2 too...it looks great...but I was reading the threads on it and it seams like issue after issue that people are talking about...maybe just the users/roms/or devices...idk
I downloaded the trial version of Pocket Shield...which you can use for 10 days before having to buy it.
Noticed some issues...probably things that just I would notice ...
(1) It enables the ability to select Repeat...under settings>Sounds&Notifications>Notifications>Reminders [I thought this was great...since this feature disappeared after WM 2003]
(2) in the same area...under Voicemail, Missed Call, and Text Messages you can now enable "flash light"...although these options are no available for New MMS...or ...New E-mail...or Reminders
(3) When Reminders go off...the light flashes anyways...until you dismiss or snooze... [I thought this was annoying cause I usually associate LEDS with missed e-mail, text, voicemail, not reminders...]
(4) You have some boost alarm options....where you can choose snooze options....this is basically an alarm to tell you have unchecked e-mail, text, voicemail, reminders etc... BUT the SNOOZE options don't actually work...this seams to never stop...just keeps going and going...even after the reminders and all missed calls are answered :x Edit:OK, so apparently...when this alarm goes off on the lock screen...you click on the item on the lock screen, then slide the screen...where the snooze options are revealed! yaay! ...but no dismiss button :X Ok, figured this out. For Boost alarm options you have a time setting for when you want it to work, plus you can check what you want it to work for, mine kept going off because I had it checked to go off as long as there was something on "today & tomorrow's Agenda" haha oops
(5) After a call...the screen locks...even if this feature is turned off on pocketshield...
(6) strange thing...i think is a feature of pocket shield...that we can't control...the phone screen turns off when you hold the phone up to your ear...even if the feature..."protect screen during call" is off....sortof like the iphone proximity sensor...not sure if our phone already did this...but I don't remember it doing this...before....
...if anyone knows that this is a normal feature...and how to turn it off...that would be great...
(7) For some dumb reason...the TouchFlo3D Slide to Unlock Screen is gone again....and it has defaulted back to the old WM Unlock...if I hold End key down....yaay! (sarcasm) ...this happened strangly the other day too...without this program...and I had to hard reset to get it back :x
(8) No clue why...but after a call...the phone decided to vibrate without stopping...until I pulled out the battery....when i turned it back on ...it went back to vibrating...but stopped after it finished booting...no clue why this happened...but it only took place once...wasn't a reoccurring problem
maybe this is all happening because it isn't the full version...idk...I thought it would be full...just minus access to the skins and it would just disable in 10 days...but idk...
This is all on my stock Rom too....which is nuts
Another annoyance...when you hit the power button...it turns of any media player you had running...so you can't turn the screen of and play music at the same time...unless plugged into external power.
I found that I can turn the screen off...and keep the media player running if I push the PocketSheild Lock button...this gives you the option to turn the screen off...or go to the lock screen...which will turn the screen off too and keep the media player running.
Major annoyance...should just be able to hit the power button and have the screen turn off and lock...with the media player still playing...what if I want to save battery by turning my screen off while listening to music...or put the phone in my pocket with headphones...

Yeah, I don't fault S2U2, it's a good program. I hear from a lot of people that use it and like it, but I was having issues. It's funny to show iPhone drones the S2U2 lock screen with the battery showing (the default iPhone screen?), and they say "hey, when did you get an iPhone" swipe it unlocked, and they say you can't have iphone on a windows phone LOL....priceless.

at least people don't mistake your phone with a nokia,
it's driving me crazy
I used TouchLockPro for a long while. Generally, I like it. I locks well and the unlock with light feature is great.
Recently, the unlock with light feature was added to PhoneAlarm. I use and like PhoneAlarm, so I just updated and now have a single program with my alarm profiles and screeen locking plus a slide to unlock. Handy.
Hey guys.
I just contacted Motorola to request some new features be added to the stock ROM (which in my opinion) would be crucial to increasing the functionality and battery levels of the watch.
Don't know if any Motorola Dev's/Engineers are following this site but just in case, I'd love to have these features asap.
Please add more if there is anything I have missed.
1. Have the ability to turn Vibrate OFF while still receiving notifications on the watch
Why ? Because I have my phone in my pocket constantly, and my phone vibrates when a new notification comes up. I dont need my pocket and my wrist vibrating together.
Also, Increase battery life.
2. Need to have the ability to turn off notifications for certain apps. For Example, I want the watch to vibrate when an SMS or Email comes through, but turned off for Messenger, kik, and everything else.
Also, by having this feature, Im sure a developer could write up a small app to install onto the phone which would tell the watch which notifications to vibrate for, and which to just display on the screen.
And again, this will save battery life by turning the vibrate motor off for (in my case) 90% of the notifications coming through.
3. Have a slider to control the level of vibration or the burst of vibration.
Why ? This adds a level of customization to the watch.
Also, I see people complaining that the watch doesn't vibrate enough while in my case, its vibration time is too long. By having the ability to shortening the vibrate time, you also save battery life (if not by much).
By having all 3 features embedded into the ROM, On the average user, it should increase battery life by almost double (if not more).

Pretty neat ideas. I have one id like to add lol. I want to be able to turn off motion detection for the screen. I had this feature on my galaxy gear and it gave me an day and half EXTRA battery with it turned off. We could get similar battery life (3-4 days with average use, custom rom too) if this was disabled. I had to always press the button to turn the screen on to check the time, but notifications still lit the screen up when they came in. Totally worth an extra 24-36 hours of battery . However i like the idea of being able to tap the screen to wake the moto360.
So basically I want motion detection disabled but leave tap to wake on.
Can't you turn off notifications for certain apps in the Android Wear app (mute apps)?

I like this idea because sometimes it's hard getting the watch to light up with motion, so turning off that feature for when it does work would be fine.
In my case, I have the phone vibration turned off and rely on the watch to deliver notifications.
My one and only important feature request is the ability to create my own canned response list.
Of course, official support for 3rd party keyboards would be nice as well.
Bluetooth LE Peripheral Mode
I'm not sure if they intend to include Bluetooth LE Peripheral Mode in their Lollipop release. Google chose not to include peripheral mode for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, although it is included with the newer Nexus 6 and 9. But for Android Wear, Peripheral Mode would enable a huge number of new and useful apps, that would significantly improve the usefulness of the watch. The simplest one would be a beacon to help you find your watch when you forgot where you left it, but enabling service solicitation would open a whole new world of applications for the watch.
#1 has worked since day one.
I get a notification, my phone remains silent, the watch vibrates. It's in the AW app settings.
according to me, since the watch has a inbuilt mic, a feature can be added that when someone calls, answer from the watch, just speak that you'll call back later & disconnect. this will be helpful if you are driving... no need to pick the phone ...

Good list, I have one more. Allow the setting of alarms for only certain days. For example, I would like to be able to set an alarm at 7 PM that goes off only on weekdays and not weekends, as I use this to let me know when I can get into the car pool lane when I am driving back home from work. That alarm is useless on the weekend, so no need for it to be turned on every day.

I am still wondering which watch support Bluetooth peripheral?
As I know LG G watch 5.0.1 do not support it.
if (mBluetoothAdapter.isMultipleAdvertisementSupported()) {
will return false.
on mine the whole notification thing is messed up..
sometimes it will vibrate and pop up when i get a text or email.. but then sometimes it doesnt do anything at all.
hardly ever, does it vibrate when i get a fb IM.. but it pops up and the screen lights up.
maybe they should fix it first before adding anything.

Pretty sure vibration is app dependent. Example, 8sms. You can change the vibration length in the settings. If you set your phone to 1000ms vibration when you get a text your phone AND watch will vibrate for 1000ms(or whatever vibration pattern you set) To further my point I would NEVER feel the vibration of Snapchat updates because it was so short. I'm using xposed(gravity box) to change snapchats vibration length and I feel the notification on my watch and phone every time.
I agree 100% google should have a universal setting to be able to change vibration, notification, and screen light up settings.

Have some of you even checked all options in the android wear app? let alone even opened it? seriously start looking around and you'll find it.
