Microsoft MyPhone - Hero, G2 Touch Android Development

Hi , i had a diamond and my contacts were sync with MyPhone from Microsoft but now , i bought an htc hero and i want my contacts!
Is there a way to use My Phone or another way to have my contacts at Hero ?
regards;

You should be able to download your contacts in .csv format from the MyPhone site. Then, either put them in outlook an use HTCSync on your PC or, load them into a Gmail account and they will sync automatically OTA.

What does this have to do with "Hero Android Development"?
Please post in the correct forums!

a newbie with 294 posts?!??! should know better really.

You can setup a google account in your Diamond, then sync your contact with Google. And when you use that same Google account to activate in Hero, it will sync your contact.
Or, you can use Sprite Migrate, it can also sync your Contacts, Call logs, Bookmarks, and SMS. I beleive it's free until Jan, 2010, so be quick.

How to import a calendar on WM6

Hi all,
I want to import a calendar from Outlook to my Trinity on WM6.
May I ask to explain me how to do ?
Just to clarify the reason of my demand, I know that if you synchronise you will have all the datas, but on my company, the USB ports are disabled by the administrator, so I want to export the calendar file and import it to my mobile (by email for example).
Thanks in advance for your help

copy your outlook.pst from the office to a portable device (CD-Rom) if your PC has a burner and than syncronize at home
sorry I think you're stuffed- if you copied a .pst file via CD ROM you'd be able to sync once. Change your calendar at work and you have to repeat- it's unworkable.
I don't think it's possible- I presume if your USB ports are diabled, there is no way you could install any other software, and the chances of having a CD writer are low two.
Can you ask your IT folks to install Active sync and a USB cradle for you?

4 Solutions:
a) Let your company buy Exchange
b) Let your company buy Zimbra Mobile (cheeper)
c) Establish a vpn tunnel to office from home to sync your home outlook
d) Sync your outlook at work with google calendar and the synch your outlook at home with the same google calendar (use google to further information...)
Ciao
Thanks claros,
I will try the 4th solution. the other ones are not possible because firewalls (I work in a bank).
I'll tell you

interesting idea about google calendar.. i've been looking for a solution like this so my secretary could update my calendar for me at work, without using exchange since our company doesn't have it. What do you use to sync your google calendar? there seem to be so many different options..

I was using this http://remotecalendars.sourceforge.net/ as it was in italian too... But at that time it was almost the only app, now you can find tons of them... RC is an Outlook plugin, but you can find a standalone Calendar Application...
We have Zimbra now so I don't sync with Outlook any more and calendar editing is done via web by our secretary...

Hi,
I see you have an orange icon, so you call with orange? they have a agenda function on their website, you need to login.
maybe that's a solution.
Google calendar is a very good solution. I'm using it with "oggsync" whitch allows me to synchronise google agenda with my 3G connection and oif course with my mobile outlook.
I'm only still having one issue, Google calendar can send invitations but aparently, you can't receive an invitation from a non goolge calendar, you receive an email and then you have to import that iCal file into google calendar.
It would be better if I could receive my invitation directly into google calendar but it's not possible, I'll look further on that, maybe i'll find something.
Thank you very much for your help !

Outlook invitation can cause strange issues, especially if your contacts are different between devices.
And you can use only Outlook or PIM Backup ver 2.5 to backup appointments with participants on your trinity (other programs or older version of pim backup gives errors during restore)
Glad to help!

Sorry,
I don't know any software able to read a pst, except for some tool to repair a pst under xp/vista...
...But you should be able to read a .cal file and import it into outlook...
To import my calendar from Motorola A1000 I used to prepare a big cal file and import it with Remote Calander. Outlook 2007 (I don't use it) should be able to import cal file directly...
OT2: Have fun, I can only watch it on tv

You can now access your Google Calendar account from your mobile phone! Just visit mobile.google.com/calendar/ with your phone's web browser and once you're logged in, you'll see your list of upcoming events with date and time information in an easy-to-browse format.

Yes you should sync. yor contacts with Outlook on your desktop (if you want to use this soft of course ).
In Outlook 2007 on your desktop, go to Detail and you'll find a birthday date and a weeding (translation ?) date also. If you put a date, you'll have an all day appointment, once sync. is done.

Hi,
Could u please explain it a bit more...I have opened the outlook and am I required to setup a new account or anything? Which menu should I access to sync my contacts?
Sorry for the noobie questions
I'll try with my poor english
I'm not sure you must create a new email account if you don't want to use Outlook 2007 for mailing on your desktop.
Try to skip this step (if I remember, you can use Outlook just for calendar and contacts).
If it's ok, create your contacts (you will have a tree on the left side and buttons at the bottom for calendar, contacts, tasks, etc.).
In a new contact window, on the top you will have an Action tab, and just on the right a Dispaly tab. In this tab, clic on the Details button and there you can write the birthday date.
For the synchronisation, once your phone connected on your desktop, open the device manager, and go to mobile setup, then, open Modify the synchronisation setups, tick Contacts, Save and it's ok.
I'm not sure about translation because I use a french Outllook 2007

Dual e-mail Sync with Hermes device

Hi,
Does anyone know about an application which would allow me to synchronize more than one outlook e-mail account (Outlook Webaccess), and eventually also Calendar/Contacts with my Hemes device?
Thanks in advance
Hello,
I'm replying to myself... I found out that an application I already used for calendar sync with OWA, Chronobis, now also has a beta function to sync e-mails directly with OWA... I tested it and it works quite well (still some minor bugs, but hey, it's a beta version)...
And this application is free...
So if anyone is looking for the same kind of functionnality...

yeah I used it to transfer all my sms (500+) from my touch HD.
works like a charm and free too
tried sprite migrate when i got my desire and it didnt work for me, my image file was "corrupted".
1) Backup your contacts with PIMBackup (in case something goes wrong)
2) Set up a Google account
3) Setup ActiveSync with settings of m.google.com as exchange server
4) Let contacts sync to your Google account
5) Setup your Desire with the same Google account and voila, all your contacts and photos.
Hope you found this useful
Nevermind. I've been drinking all night and read it wrong. I'll still leave this up for those who are interested in migrating contacts lol
the google thing did not work for me.
i synced it up with office outlock then exported them from outlook to a file. then uploaded to gmail then it synced it up

Manage contacts with pc software

Is there any software that lets me manage my contacts on my pc? Like the pc studio for Nokia phones? As far as i can see, the htc sync only lets me sync, don't even know what it sync's, lol...
There's motorola software (search xda for it) that can do it, I didn't find it particulary good but it works.
Google Contacts
This is where I do all my managing. Fulfill my needs and syncs to the phone immediately.
google.com/contacts
sorry, cannot post real links, something about new members.

I access the contacts online too, don't see much need for anything else, but you could probably add/edit contacts to Outlook and use HTC Sync to grab the changes from there? I haven't tried it, so I could be wrong
Use the contacts within Google Mail?
It's nice that you share your discovery, but for a long, long time there is no problem with the management of contacts.
For example, MyPhoneExplorer 1.8 released 2010-10-01:
"Many people waited for this update and now its finished. MyPhoneExplorer is now able to manage Android-Phones - and not only from SonyEricsson. This Means there are many new supported models fe SonyEricsson X10, HTC Desire. Motorola Milestone, and much more."
