1. Is there a way for the lock screen dialer to take over after dialing a number? I mean, I use the Resco Contact mgr dialer. After dialing a number through that, I get directed to the ****ty default WM6.5.3 dialer. I'm looking for a way to get directed to the lock screen call thing (which is much faster and responsive)
2. Is there a way for the Wm lock screen call thing to come up automatically whenever theres an incoming call? I found this: "http://www.xtkit.com/archives/32", but this doesn't work as efficiently, though it'll do if there's no better solution.

You can use Iconsoft PhonEx or HTC Phone Canvas (search) if you don't want the default dialer.
For automatic locking on an incoming call, you can use Smartlock.

I use the default dialer and I like it alot. Granted I skinned it. But I have auto-lock on, which when used with the dialer, will switch to the lockscreen after you dial a number. The In-Call lockscreen has lots of functions like Speaker, Contacts, etc. Pretty neat.
My latest LITE rom is setup pretty slick using all standard WM apps.
@player911: Which auto lock app do you use which switches to the lockscreen after dialing? The same smartlock that Livven mentioned? I'm quite happy with PhoneEx, but it's commercial, so I'd prefer If I can setup something free.

Hello all. I'm currently running CRC 10.4 rom and I love the huge task manager option (the drop down thing in the upper right corner on the today screen) but I haven't been able to find it as a cab. I also love the 3G dialer on the S64 rom but can't put it on crc10.4 b/c the crc dialer is cooked into the rom. I've found a nice 3G kaiser dialer but it just boogers up my dialer when I install it.
Can anyone recommend a rom / dialer / cab combo to me? I was thinking about using PDACornerPro.V12 and adding what I want to it, but I don't even know if that will work. I'm at the point where I would rather choose everything that goes into my rom, and spending some time on it vs. trying to cram in everything I can.

regarding the dialer: make sure you have netcf installed as well as some certs if you use schens dialer.
it also might be that you have to enable or disable the phone skin (use schaps advanced config for tweaking this)
Ok I disabled the phone skin, installed the 3G kaiser dialer, but now the smart dialing box (with the ugly scrollbars) is boogering up the look. I want it off of there. I installed the 3G dialer on my buddies phone and it works right. How do I turn off the smart dialer?
Figured it out. There is a registry key in HKLM\Software\HTC\PHONE.. something like "EnableSmartDialb". Set it to 1.
you coulod also do it via the phone's menu (smart dialing options).

I am wondering if there is an available app for an alternative way to answer an incoming call?
I don't particularly like the default HD Slide to answer/ignore for incoming calls, as I find the slide rather laggy.
I have used HD TWEAK to change the Phone pad style to the Windows Mobile standard, while it looks like ass, at least when receiving calls it gives me a simple prompt of pressing answer or ignore than the laggy slide.
I'm currently using Dutty's HD Extreme 2.6 ROM

I am using itje's 10.2 rom and recently installed the phonex dialer (1.4.5). I really like the layout and the functionality, however I've found that I cannot use the call history or the people tab in touchflo to call the application. I know it has something to do with enabling the phone skin (\HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin, Enabled=1), but when I enable the phone skin, incoming calls open both the rhodium phone skin and the phonex phone skin. Deleting phcanhtc.dll provides the same result as disabling the phone skin.
Is there a way to have the people tab, call history, and touchflo contacts open phonex, while avoiding the phonex+rhodium dialer problem?

I don't know but i'm using gtrab's WM6.5 and installed PhonEx 1.4.5 and it works perfectly.
What is the easiest way for my kids to be able to use the SMS app without openning the keyboard, and by using the onscreen keyboard in landscape, like an iphone, kinda.
We are all on the NRG roms, 21xxx with HTC Messaging Client installed.
I added the "all messages" page into g-config but it does not rotate in any of the SMS chats. My guess is that i have to add every SMS page to g-config?
There has to be an easier way to get any SMS/MMS to open in landscape just by rotating the phone?
I use BSB Tweaks. It allows you to rotate any program and it is very easy to use. You select the rotation feature in BSB, go to the program , then shake the phone. Just search for it here, it's a free app.

Yea exactly, that's what I did. Probably the Push to Talk button, that's the one I use for it. The shake feature does seem kind of cool to rotate it. But at the same time, let's say you're in public and people see you randomly shake your phone... might look a little odd

I've searched the market and am coming up empty. Does anyone know of a good full screen dialer replacement app for Android? I love the style of the dialer app on Sense, with its high-res full screen contact pictures. I tried Full-screen Dialer on the market, but it constantly FC's on CM7 7.04RC so I'm back at square one.
Any ideas, suggestions?

look in the market for Full screen caller ID... i been using it for a while now worked fine on CM7 RC4... Pyro 2.0... and now on MIUI OSI... you can set tru HD pictures for the contacts and they come up BEAUTIFULLLL

I've got three suggestions for you:
AContact: Clean optic, especially if the GUI is switched to black and there is also an option, to give contact-Groups (e.g. Family, Co-Workers...) their own Ringtone just by one click.
TouchPal Dialer: Looks like Sense, works well, nothing special
TAKEphONE dialer: The only payed dialer in this post. I like the transparent GUI, working well. The widget is a bit crappy if you like the sense or Launcher Pro people widget.
One thing is common to all these three suggestions: if you are using the dialpad ist the callbutton in the best position: bottom middle, not like Dialer One left of the number you have dialed.

OK, I've gotten a lot of great results, but none of these really touch on what I'm looking for.
I'd like a Full-Screen Caller ID app. I have so much screen space, why have to see tiny pictures when people call me? I need big ass pictures. Sense UI does this by default but none of these dialer apps seem to have good options for Full-screen high-res caller ID, and thats the principle feature I'm searching for.
