Is there such a thing as a bluetooth remote for windows phones?
I'd like to be able to control my phone's music using a remote when its playing through speakers etc. Just simple skip / pause / volume functionality would be ideal.
Any ideas!?
if the phones bluetooth radiostack support that profile yes
but bluetooth is not that a greatly implemented std in many cases

Mono BT headset (I have jabra130) doesn't work with audio streaming on my Himalaya, and they doesn't support AVRCP profile.

AVRCP is a bluetooth profile. If your headset is not bluetooth then it will not have AVRCP.

haven't met with any solution so far.. simply these devices haven't anything to control with excpept the radio waves.. it has only jack/etc. with these you cannot control anything.
Some headphones has an additional button which can be used to answer talk. Jack connection has additional place to use it. is it possible to catch pushing this button programmatically?
Having trouble trying to figure out how to stream music to my Jabra Stone bluetooth headset. Any suggestions? Also having problems with my audio dropping in an out during a phone call; looks like the headset will disconnect in the middle of a conversation and then randomly re-connect again. Rooted running Myn RLS5.

For the streaming: To my knowledge, unless the headset declares to your phone that it has BT A2DP profile (aka, headphones/stereo audio), it won't work for anything other than voice commands and calls (aka, Handsfree or Headset profile).
Disconnecting: Put your phone on the same side of your body as the headset. If you're outside, it'll probably cut in and out due to ambient RF interfering. Believe it or not, your body has enough water in it to block the relatively weak BT radio.

It streamed music fine to my previous iPhone but not finding an easy way to stream music to it via the EVO. Navigation does work thru the headset if I have it connected but that's it.

When I look under bluetooth settings/bluetooth devices it shows:
Jabra STONE
Connected to phone and media audio
surprisingly....its now working at least using powerAMP, I'll try a few more apps such as Pandora and Youtube...only thing I did is re-charge the headset.

Odd. Might be that the Sense music player just doesn't like it for some reason. I have had zero issues with A2DP-capable devices on CM6 or 7.
So this is what I am trying to find out.
I use my SIII in my truck as a media player on long trips hooking it up to my car stereo's line-in input.
What I want to do is to mount a mount/cradle so I can leave the SIII securely mounted/seated somewhere on the dash board and control the music player apps ( Playerpro or the stock music player) through a handheld wireless remote control.
I know the SIII does not have IR receiver so that is out but is there a way to hook up a BT or wifi remote so I can safely control the music playback and navigate up/down folders of music while driving?

I agree it would be useful to have a physical remote with real tactile buttons for use in car, bike or running.
As far as I know, currently the closest option would be a bluetooth remote as there is a bluetooth profile for media control. However, I think it's probably somewhat more limited than what you're looking for. I believe the profile is limited to play/pause, FF, REW, forward skip and back skip. If you're able/willing to setup your playlist in advance so that you're okay with those controls than it should be workable. You won't be able to navigate any menu system.
The other issue is I'm not aware (but you could always try to google for it) of any standalone bluetooth remote. Every one I've ever seen are integrated into some other device. I have remote functions on my bluetooth headphones and my car has an integrated bluetooth sound system and can remote control playback through the dash and steering wheel controls.
If that would work for you, you could consider replacing your stereo deck with one that has bluetooth integrated then you'll be able to control playback through the deck's controls. You'll probably need to stream the audio over bluetooth as well for that to work.
Thanks for the BT suggestion. I will look into it and see if there is anything out there that will work. If I can get a BT solution working without too much cost/effort, I will gladly make a bunch of playlists if that is all that can be controlled by the BT media control profile.
The reason I 'need' to use my S3 in my car is that in my truck (2005 Chevy Avalanche) unlike the current model GM trucks, has no provision for any type of AUX input except for the one I rigged up intercepting the XM module's analog audio output. It is getting to the point that I am really tempted to just replace the head unit with one that will take an USB flash drive and all my problems will be solved.

I'm looking for a bluetooth device that can control Android media playback.
I already have the phone paired to a BT device that is connected to the stereo headunit but I have no control over it without handling the phone.
Anyone know of any such device ?

I have personally used the following remote, and it works well for the basic functions it has. I returned it because it appears as a keyboard in android, and makes it so I can't get the software keyboard to appear, unless I manually switch keyboards. I also need more buttons then the five it has.

I'm considering getting one of these Nulaxy keyboard/Mouse to BT adapters, and hooking up a small 10 key, and a trackball on either side of my steering wheel.

I have Plantronics Explorer 50 A2DP BT mono headset.
It have a button which can receive calls on one click, or redial on double click. And it works fine.
But it can't control music. I've tried million apps on play store, which allow to re-assign music controls like single, double, triple click for pause / play, prev etc.
But none of those apps seems to have any effect.
My phone is OnePlus One with CyanogenMod, but I have tested that Earphone with two other android smartphones of my friends, and it is not controlling music either on their devices. I am using Meridian player, but as said above, I've tested ot on two other phones with no specific player. Same on YouTube app in my phone. Also, standard wired earphones with mic button works fine for play / pause / next / prev on my phone.
Do all A2DP headsets miss that functionality?
And is there any reason no one made an app to switch music with device like this one? I mean, button sends signal to the phone anyway (f.e. redial). Is this really not possible to remapp this functionality? I really do not need to pick calls with my BT at all - it serves only for music.
Or is there something else I am doing wrong? I was googling few days with no results or similar issue. I am a bit lost.
