Hi everybody,
I have updated the ROM of my HTC Touch Pro 2 with the HTC official update in order to have Windows Mobile 6.5. However i had some bad surprises :
- we can not anymore set the LED blinking for more than 5 minutes when we have missed a call or a sms (the option is grayed).
- the clock is changing for GMT time during a very short time each time that we lock/unlock the screen or that we click on the windows bar on the top of the scream.
Is there any solutions to these problems ?
Thank you for your help,
Benoit

It's not changing for GMT as such, it's just going back 1 hr 2mins in order to show off the fancy "flip" of the clock. There is a CAB lying around these forums to disable the flip, just do a search for "1:02 flip" and you'll find it easily.
EDIT: You'll find a fix for the LED as well if you do a quick search.
Thanks for your answer mhurg, now at least i know that a solution exists!
I have searched on the forum but I'm am not very used of it and I didn't find these CAB files.
Is there anybody who has these CAB files or who has a link to where we can get them ?
Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4844447&postcount=5580
Just extract to your windows directory
When i try to copy the file to the windows folder i get a message telling me that i don't have the rights to do this operation. How should i do ?
Otherwise, for those who could also be interested to modify the LED settings the solution is here :

Use total commander, not file explorer
Nice!! Thanks a lot!
I prefer my phone much better with these 2 things fixed

Maybe I don´t get you right.., but you can change from 24 to 12 am/pm hours display in options. To open options you have to keep the touchscreen pressed for a second os so.

In agree, as I would also like that.
But I am sure that the date format is linked to your Regional settings. - I may be wrong though.
If you look through the threads you can remove the time from the top bar - no use duplicating the time.
Edit 1: I left the battery incicator in the top bar.
Edit 2: I found the HTC Home cab. and have now installed that instead. I now have the clock, weather and launcher installed on Sleuth's ROM. It has slowed a little but works super for my applications. Still faster than JJ's latest.

Long date format - here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides, SLDte = for example, "dddd, dd MMMM yyyy". By Regional Settings change you do with pre-defined list of formats, but that can be changed manually after.
To remove the time from top bar... I'm not sure that make sense: time will be not visible in other apps too, where Today's clock we'll don't have... but - it is here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell, set ShowTitleBarClock to 0x0 (0); and TBOpt - to 0x0 (0) too (otherwise will be shown the Battery Icon instead).
You guys might want to try the program rlToday, it can do these and more.

Hi,
try the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides\SSDte Key. This key should be already there and if you do changes there it affects the displayed date left of the Samsung Clock - problem is - you don´t have enough space for the long date.

Hi Everyone,
I upgraded to the O2 WM6 ROM last night and theres a few things I cant do that I could on WM5 and was wondering if someone could tell me how.
1. On the desktop i cant get the two buttons at the bottom to change from Calender on the left and contacts on the right.
2. The running problems icon has gone from the start menu options and I cant find it anywhere
I know these are trivial but you know what its like when you set something up the way you want and get use to it and then its taken away.
Cheers everyone.

Hi,
1. Just copy the file into the windows folder, do a soft reset, and go to start\settings\system... you will find the solution to remap the softkeys...
View attachment SoftKeyApplet.zip
2. Install this program. It will make an icon to the top right of the today screen. By this icon you can manage your running programs.

Is there a way to remove the battery indicator from the bottom right corner of the desktop next to the comm manager. Im using batterystatus which is more accurate so i have no need for it

Yes, that's possible. You shold do some registry tweaking... Hereby you can find a descriptipn about the registry tweaking: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_Registry

Ok, at the weekend I made a cab for me so I can install the "clean hometab" at my german diamond in one step, it also ereases the dotted line and the arrwos. So before you install my custom cab, you have to uninstall the single cab first.
(Note: with this cab you will also get a transparent clock background)

Elvelynns first post about editing the home screen is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2861270&postcount=590
In the file '7e640092_manila' (xml language file) you can edit/delete the text for the different entries on the hometab. Just open this file with a normal editor and edit/delete the entries (for example Date, text for "blank" callhistory- or calendar-row, not active alarm, ...).
Only the next entry in the calendar-row and the display of an active alarm cannot be changed with this methode.
You also have to know, that this mod only changes the visual appearance and not the "function" of the row, for example if you tab on the now blanked callhistory-row you will still get to the callhistory.

However, I don't know if it's compatible with Blackstone.
ok i've tried it,
all that happens is it removes the dotted lines....
if i get time i'll look at the 7e640092_manila

Hi guys-
this is really a great forum - thanks for the great work! Excellent help for a TP2 newbie.
Touch Pro2 impressions: I just upgraded (vzw) from my ancient (and yet incredibly reliable) Motorola Q, and this thing is truly awesome. I used a Touch Pro almost a year ago, and returned it because it felt sluggish and a bit buggy. I think the 2 is a major improvement. Very responsive, great phone and speakerphone, great wifi and bluetooth and gps, great keyboard (but no tab key?), better battery, surprisingly inexpensive.
Questions that I couldn't find answers to in previous threads:
1. Reminders: I see that the calendar reminders do not allow any option for changing the snooze time - it is just 5 minutes. Weird, as my WinMo 5 Q would let me choose a range of time, from 5 minutes up to a week, as I recall. This is disappointing. But even more disappointing is that when it is attached via usb to my pc, synched, and a reminder pops up in Outlook (2003), I can snooze on the PC, but that snooze does not synch with the TP2. Any ideas or suggestions? This is actually very frustrating.
2. Calendar: I have seen screen shots of the day view that has weather, even for future dates. I don't have that - anyone know how to enable?
thanks in advance for any help!
This worked for me to get the snooze options back:
Start a registry editor and navigate to key:
HKLM/System/Shell/Notification/OEM
Change the value of CustomUIDLL from NotificationLayout.dll to NotificationLayoutNew.dll
Just add New, it won't find that .dll and starts the old interface, with the snooze option.
Don't forget, after the registry change, turn the TP2 off and back on to activate.
Regarding your question about the weather forcast in the calendar day-view, you need to set your city in the World Clock screen (ie, tap the large clock on the Home tab).
There's a great hack (cRaCKwHoRe's Snooze Options) which gives you the snooze options back.
Also worth looking at are "InboxExtender", (allow read all, delete al options) and "Smaberg X1 Powerbutton 12 icons actionscreen" (12 options on holding the power button down)
You guys rule!
@itm - reg fix works great - thanks
@ohyeahar - that's it, thanks
@en_croute - I will try it as soon as i get some time, sounds useful, thanks

I just noticed that the current weather is not shown for me either.
I do have a city selected. In the "day" view on the calendar is just shows the single appointment I have. If I change to yesterday. I do see a weather picture. I went to the TF3D weather tab.. it was initially blank.. it updated and showed the current weather. I went back to the calendar view.. still nothing for "today". Only yesterday. Any ideas?
What is a good registry editor?

PHM_Regedit or Total Commander are the two most recommended ones here.
PHM is a little easier to navigate/use (mostly due to visual elements), but Total Commander also has a full set of file-explorer functions that PHM does not. Both are free.
Thank you so much sirphunkee. I was beginning to think nobody talked to newbies on this forum. I'll definetly be looking both of these up.
Okay I looked at both of them and downloaded the PHM_Regedit. Now I can't figure out if I should use MyMobiler to drag the Zipped cab file over or if I should unzip it first? When I unzipped it it did not look like a cab file. Does this work on a Sprint phone? Some of the cabs don't work on a Sprint phone. I'd hate to do another hard reset to get it to work like it is.

Hey there, no problem...we were all new here at one point, and asking the same types of questions
I'm not sure what source you downloaded it from, so I'm not entirely sure how it might have been packaged, but I would have guessed it should have just been a regular .cab file inside of a .zip. Either way, you can just download and use the cab I've attached here, I can confirm this one works just fine.
You can use MyMobiler to drag the cab over to your phone (it drops it in your "my documents" folder by default), and it will start the install automatically for you. Once you have it installed, you'll just find the icon to run it in your regular list of programs. And yes, it will work just fine on the CDMA (Sprint/Verizon) versions of the TP2...it's specific to what type of processor your phone has, not what type of radio.
Now, if you're not entirely familiar with registry editing, it's a good idea to read up on it a bit...it's very simple to do, but also very simple to create issues by doing the wrong thing. Also, it's always a good idea to create a backup of your registry (PHM can do that for you, just store it the backup on your SD card for safe keeping), in case anything goes wrong, you can just revert back to the working version
I installed Easy Launcher which puts short cuts on your today screen. I want to install a shortcut for the Settings-> Personal ->Phone. Thanks

Why not just use the hardware volume button. Press it up or down, the HTC volume screen appears, select SILENT, and you are done! Or you could set it to vibrate.
I listen to music all day on head phones. I need the volumne up for the music but do not want the phone ring in my cubicle environment. Especially if I get up, leave my desk, and my phone has been ringing nobody appreciates it.

Well, you could disable the HTC Notifications manager. Then you would have the old-style dialogs for your data connection and volume. I mention it because the stock WM dialogs have separate volume controls for Phone and Device.
It is a registry tweak where you change the name of the dll file to something different. When you reset the notifications should be stock instead of HTC.
do you know what the registry change would be to remove the htc notifications?

local machine / services / notificationmanager / Dll.
Change it from NotificationManager.dll to NotificationManager2.dll and reset the device. If it works, when you click on the speaker icon in the task bar, you should get a dialog for just the volume.
I haven't tried this with my particular version of WM 6.5.x, but it worked on the stock WM 6.5.
could be done by simple script.
I have a script which automatically change backlight settings every morning and evening.
it's very similar thing, you only need to change values for registry entries in it.
Suppose on rhodium volume could be change directly through registry.
or you may find it on xda or I'll send it if you want.
these are those entries:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Volume]
"Ringer"=dword:99999999
from 00000000 to FFFFFFFF = level
and for vibrate:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0]
"Sound"="*none*"
OR
"Sound"="*vibrate*"

Brenda, did you ever get this working (a shortcut to a specific place in settings)? If not I've come across another way to accomplish it that's pretty simple, let me know and I can create the link for you to put on your startmenu or wherever
create an ANSI file backlightTimes.lnk with this text inside:
1#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,3,1
==
1# - num of chars -ignored by new wm
ctlpnl - calling cpl files
cplmain - main cp applet
3 - internal code - ID of applet window
1 - open on 2nd TAB
problem is some contrl panel windows are ignoring last parameter (TAB) and this one is, so you need to click again, then make your settings and click to confirm. Still not too easy
