How do you create shortcuts? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Can someone tell me please, how to create a shortcut to a program. Many thanks. (I'm using Spb shell if that makes any difference.)

Are you trying to add a shortcut to start menu (which contains the list of all the programs)?
Then open file explorer. Navigate to the .exe you'd like. From the menu select copy. Then navigate to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs then select "Paste Shortcut" from the menu.

or try this ..

HOW TO create a shortcut of a program?

Dear all,
Please help me HOW TO create a shortcut of a program, I just installed manual and dificult to open this program by using File Manager. Please help
Thank all of you,
use file explorer navigate to \windows\start menu
just delete what you want.
Frankly, use a proper explorer app like GSFinder or Total Commander.
Find the .exe file for your app, choose Edit > copy, then edit > paste shortcut (or similar menus on your explorer app).
You can paste the shortcut anywhere you want obviously. \windows\start menu is the obvious place.

Program shortcut

I have installed a program which does not appear in Installed Programs.
To run it you have to tap an .exe file which is in a directory on the storage card.
Is there a way to create a shortcut and preferably an icon that I can add to the Programs page in the Touchflow.
TIA
Paul
I had the same issue (with Tomtom). I just made a short cut to the .exe in the folder the program was in, and moved that shortcut to Windows -> Start Menu -> Programs. I did this using Active sync.
Hi Gunther
I have just tried that however when I right click the .exe in file on the phone or in Active Sync I do not get the option to create a shortcut - just the Cut, Copy, rename, Delete etc.
Did you take a copy of the .exe file or find another way to do the shortcut?
Thanks
Paul
using File Explorer in your HTC Touch HD right click on the target and chose copy option
go to the destination folder right click again and chose pase shortcut
I am not having any joy. When I right click and copy the .exe file and then go to the Windows -> Start Menu -> Programs and then right Click again the option to paste as shortcut is greyed out. If I paste the .exe file then it appears as a program in the list of programs however it does not run.
The shortcuts are .lnk files. I presume they point to the .exe/program files location however I cannot open them to see what is inside.
Thanks everyone - I did it. Just went to the Start Menu and then used Menu - Paste shortcut.
If you've already got File Explorer installed, just install the file explorer extension.

Add an executable file to the program tab

How can I add an executable file to the program tab, when that file is not shown as program? It is a dictionary which can not be installed, it must be just copied. So it is not shown as a program in the window of "all programs". For any help I would be very thankful.

Click to collapse
You'll need to create a shortcut to it first.
file explorer > browse to your exe > copy > browse to windows\start menu\Programs > paste shortcut
it should then appear in the All Programs list
You have to create a shortcut of the executable in \windows\startmenu\programs, then your program will be shown in all programs. Then you can add it to your program tab
Thank you very much!

How to link linkages after installing a new ROM

Hey Guys,
how can I use installed programs after flashing my ROM? The programs are installed on my storage card and are usable, but I'd like to list them in the WinMo surface again - how can I do that?
Regards,
Broetchen
In File Explorer, go to the app .exe on your storage card and long click on the file. In the pop up menu choose "Send Shortcut to Programs".
Hey Clyde,
don't have "Send Shortcut to Programs" in the WinMo 6.5 context menu!
you could use sashimi to recreate the shortcuts but you would need them there in the first place!
Click and hold on the executable on your storage card and choose copy. go to windows>start menu>programs then click and hold and choose paste shortcut. Your'll then need to rename them to something more sensible. You could then back them up and use sashimi to restore them after a flash.
Sent shortcut to..... is a resco explorer feature, you can copy and paste shortcut with standard explorer and then move your new shortcut to windows/start menu/programs or in a subfolder in there

If you don't have resco, just create a shortcut to app .exe on your storage card and place this shortcut in the following directory using your file explorer
/windows/start menu/programs

Use your file explorer and go to location of app.exe in your storage card. To create shortcut generally you use either your finger or stylus and press and hold it on app.exe file until menu pops up. Then depending on file explorer your using you would have either option to 'send shortcut to programs' or 'create shortcut'
Hey fallen Spartan,
there is none of these two possibilities to select with the normal WinMo 6.5 - integrated FileBrowser!
Do I need to use Resco?

Long hold what you want to create a shortcut to and select Copy.
Browse to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and long hold anywhere in a space and select Paste Shortcut.
