[new !!!!] opera mobile 10

Opera has just released Opera Mini 10 for WindowsPhones (cab).

When i loaded it, the screen shows opera mobile 10. Not opera mini.

Anyone tried this yet? Does zooming work with the TP2 slider?

Pardon my ignorance, what's the difference between WWE and RU?

Some observations:
-page load times are impressive
-interface looks clean and modern (has a Safari feel to it)
-quickdial page is a good idea, but not intuitive to customize.
-tabs management is pretty and works well
-zoombar doesn't work natively
-screen rotates only on keyboard slideout, not with g-sensor.(I suppose this can be solved with g-sensor utility programs)
-no precise zooming. You're either zoomed in or out. No in between. And you can't zoom further in.
-no more realtime text reflow. Text are formatted into columns so they can be read zoomed in.
-vertical scrolling is not locked. That is, when you scroll vertically to read a column of text, sometimes your scrolling may be off to one side. In v9.5 and 9.7, this slight horizontal movement is ignored intelligently. This isn't the case for v10
-can't disable java-script
-the browser occupies the whole screen. You won't even have access to your Start Menu and taskbar.

I like the feel of the new browser

I must say i agree, one question. How to stop it going to mobile websites. The Configpera trick does not work on the 10. Drives me nuts when going to mobile view for example google or youtube.

I second that call. How do we change the Browser String ID?

It crashed twice on me within the first 10 minutes! So I then un-installed it, only to realise I no longer had Opera 9.7!!! I Hard-reset to get it back, but is there a cab for 9.7 and will it still link to the internet tab on TF3d?
I liked the look, but still didn't find it as fast as Opera Mini, even with the Turbo mode....

Same problem...
When opera mobile 10 uninstalled it breaks the link in the TF3D to opera mobile 9.5. I now have it linked to IE...
Not sure how to get it back to opera mobile 9.5

The officials *.cab for Opera Mobile 9.5 & Opera Mobile 9.7 are on official Opera's website. (www.opera.com)

Can someone tell me how to bring-in/import my current Opera bookmarks?
In 9.x versions I could copy "opera6.adr" (which I keep archived on my sd card) to the Opera9 folder under Windows, but copying that file to anywhere in the Opera10 folder under Programs didn't seem to work.

No idea mate. Never bothered syncing favourites from my PC before

I don`t know some peoples already say about the new Opera 10 its nothing more than all other versions but i don`t think so.
1st when i install on my HD this beta i saw its much more faster than the 9.7 or 9.5 Also the view of the pages is much more better and clear and all the menus of the opera are just fast and awsome.
On the same time i just test for how long will load a page.
For example i choice a random page and i use Opera 9.5 then use Opera 10 for the same page in the same internet connection and i can say that this 10 BETA is minimum 3 times faster than the old Opera.
The Only bad things is that still not have a full Flash support but soon this will be fixed and then we will have a awsome fast beauty Browser for our devices

I've been using changescreenconfig to control my g-sensor apps. Works fine with opera 10.
Now I just need to find a way to make the zoom bar work on my TP2.

I know. I had it installed before but the apps in Dutty's ROM didn't require changescreen so I didn't bother to install it. Seems I have to now, though.
Does anyone know how to sync the bookmarks in Manila with those in Opera 10? I currently have two sets of bookmarks now, one in Manila for the Favourite Shortcuts and those in Opera.

It's still a bit buggy - but this will definitely be the best browser ever when the first non-beta is released!!!
I'm just wondering why Opera Mobile is still (alot) slower than Opera Mini, although both use server-side compression!? With Opera Mini, browsing the web is so incredibly fast!

can anyone tell me how can I configure Opera to support RTL languages display properly (i.e. hebrew).
Currently all the hebrew sites I entered displayed the text backwards

Opera Mobile 10: integration with Touch HD

Opera Mobile 10 is great. It's fast, smooth, and with plenty of useful functions. Finally we have a browser that compares to the iPhone's safari.
Unfortunately, if you install Opera Mobile 10 on your Touch HD, you lose some of the features of the pre-installed Opera 9. Here is a list:
Vibration when clicking a link
Opera 9 makes a short vibration when I hyperlink is tapped. Opera 10 misses this feature.
Solution:
None at the moment.
Special URL keyboard
In Opera 9, a special keyboard appeared when typing a URL in the URL bar: it contained a ".com" handy key, as well as other useful symbols. In Opera 10, the standard keyboard appears when typing URLs.
Solution:

Touch HD arrow as back button
In Opera 9, the "left arrow" button of the Touch HD worked as back button in the browser. In Opera 10, this button simply minimizes Opera.

Internet tab push pages open Opera 9

In Manila/Sense internet tab, when adding a push page, it is possible to pick it from the bookmarks. Unfortunately, the bookmarks are those of the default Opera 9.

I started this thread hoping to collect solutions and workarounds for all these issues, hoping to make Opera Mobile 10 perfectly integrated with Touch HD and Manila/Sense. Please help me! There is a software called SSMaPa, you can RElink the shortcuts in Manila! Use the forim search to get it! Its free and not so difficult

I dunno if this is relevant or not, but the only thing stopping me from moving over to opera 10 is the lack of any decent zoom function. anyone know how to enable the zoomslider? or anything that allows you to zoom properly again? atm, i have to go to settings and adjust the zoom level from there, which is hardly intuitive

Thanks for your answer. Yes, you are certainly right. I'll write this in the post.
On the other hand, I also would like a less "extreme solution". I have a ROM I am quite happy with ([ROM][WWE][26.02.2010] Miri WM 6.5 21893 :: V 38.0 [DISCONTINUED]), because it's fast, stable, and it has got what I needed. Plus, I don't want to flash a new ROM and hence lose all my data and configurations. Also, I think that many people don't really want take the time and effort to flash other roms. Hence I this post.

Opera 10 final has an options whether to set O10 default or not in the end of .cab installation process. i had such question, so no any 3rd parti softs requiered!!!

Same for me. Opera 10 is fine, fast but the zoom doesn't work like it should be (why it is now based on the page width???). Therefore it is not usable for me.

My solutions:
1. Install Touchresponse, great open source app, works in background, vibrates when you touch the screen.
2. Install Fingerkeyboard, has customizable buttons for .com, .org, .net, etc.
4. Remove internet tab from manila, put Opera 10 icon in programs tab - no flashing, installing or unistalling required.
Those work well for me.

Anyone using Opera Mobile 10?
I've purchased HD mini for 3 days only.
But, I've problem when using Opera Mobile 10...
My device will hang when using Opera Mobile 10 for a while...
Don't know the problem come my device or Opera itself...

I dunno man... my opera 10 works fine by me but I`m using Russian version of the program.

If you install opera 10, will the sense page with the opera browser still work?

Or try to close all other programms through Task Manager before starting Opera 10.

hey guys...it works fine our for me pinch-to-zoom doesn't work!!! :-( any solutions????

as far as I read Opera Mobile 10 does not support multitouch yet for the HTC HD Mini.
You cannot select it in the phone browser for easy install and if you just download and install version 10 it doesn't support it. I switched back to 9.7.

Same here downgraded to 9.7, opera guys are strange in 9.7 they support pinch-zoom in ver.10 they don't...

Actually, I find it moore convinient not having pinch-zoom on opera 10. For one thing, some pages require you to pinch zoom on specified-non-clickable areas if not, zoom gets over-done in some rare ocassions. In opera 10 you can just set the tap zoom to 100% and everytime you tap a page it zooms to where you tap. When you tap the zoom out button it zooms out. Plus the interface looks nicer. Cheers.

Hi guys i'd like to know if there's a way to make Opera Mini ( NOT the Java version ) but the Cab [ it's named Opera Mini 5 beta v.5.03521] your default browser ?
I've found many ways to do it but its only with the jbed thing and that version kinda sucks versus the cab...I've found this :

but it still doesn't work any ideas ?

I have not found a way to make Opera Mini the default browser. But a few questions for you about issues with Opera Mini 5 Windows Version on the HTC Excalibur:
1. Can't use D-Pad for page up/down scrolling. That is a great feature on Opera Mini 4.2.
2. Can't set the date shown at the bottom of the Opera screen.
3. The short-cuts that use the # key don't work.
Is that your experience too? Wonder if its the same with other Windows phones? It still is a "beta" version.

I've got the 3VO.3.50.033010 ROM it may help you..
2. Forget about it just : Settings > Fullscreen : no date more place for pages
3. Shortcut does work : you've just got to "double fn" + number
Since I got my Exc. i've been using it instead of the jbed version its faster, got bigger font and bug free.
Btw my deepest apologies its not a beta version

Also, the Opera site lists the Windows Mobile version of Opera Mini as "beta," and it shows up in my Start screen as "Opera Mini 5 beta."

If you know how to edit your registry, then my free "SkweezeIt" app will allow you to select the new Opera Mini WM Beta when you click on a link in an RSS or email message, and it will place the URL in the devices clipboard, then you can just "paste" it into the opera mini's URL box (by holding down the center OK button).

This is a known problem with Opera Mini 5 (still in beta) with other WM phones besides the Excalibur - check Opera Mini forums and you'll see. I have the same problem with my Excalibur running stock WM6 rom but others here on XDA run Opera Mini 5 just fine using modded WM roms. So until Opera provides a fix it looks like you'll have to flash your phone to get Opera Mini to work right.
