question about telus tp2 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

There might be another thread asking the same question but i couldn't find it, anyway the question is:
Do all cooked roms for t2p work on telus t2p, since it's cdma and gsm?

As far as I know your TP2 CDMA/GSM has to be flashed with a CDMA ROM
And that section is here:

I think If you flash a GSM you´ll have an expensive brick
Masters correct me if I´m wrong...

Telus TP2 help for the noobie

I see that most here are American, with T-mobile ETC. But I'm Canadian And as such i can get a Telus branded TP2. I was wondering, can the roms posted here all be flashed onto this device? And if so, is there any way i can back up the current state of the device so i could say, flash it back to the Telus branded one if i please? And if your feeling daring, is there a TP2 official 6.5 coming out for Telus/ is it available official from your carriers?
Thanks all in advanced, sorry for the question dump, Matt.
Can't flash the Telus TP2 yet because it's a CDMA device.
Unlocker is apparently in the final stages... so stay tuned.
Ok thank you

Global TP2

I have a global Verizon TP2, that I've now moved to T-Mobile service. Obviously, I'm now using the GSM network.
My questions is, and I haven't seen it answered elsewhere, can I flash a GSM ROM or must I flash a CMDA Rom and set my network manually?
I may have missed the answer in my search, I admit, but I did try.
I should add, I've unlocked using HardSpl and the radio unlocker by Olipro and friends, which is how I got it working with T-mobile. I've also flashed the unofficial "official" 6.5 ROM for Verizon TP2.
CDMA is thats what your base phone is.

I'm not positive but I do not think you can flash any rom but an official upgrade from verizon, This is a hybird phone and no cooks have made any customs roms for it yet that I'm aware of...
There are custom ROMs for CDMA TP2, but not as many as for GSM TP2. I was just wondering. If I flash a CMDA ROM, I have to work through all the settings again to set it up for GSM, and it's a pain.
But if I must, I must.

It is a verizon phone so it is CDMA with the ability to use the GSM network. You HAVE to flash a CDMA ROM.

Head over to the Touch Pro 2 forums at ppcgeeks.com. That is a comunity more dedicated to CDM A development. There are quite a few CDMA roms available there.

Best Rom/Radio for Dual CDMA (Sprint) / Domestic GSM (AT&T) usage

Im looking to flash a custom rom to a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 for the sole intention of getting rid of my work phone (AT&T Blackberry). What is the best ROM (and easiest to switch between radios) to do something like this?
Thanks for any tips!

So far as I know you cannot flash a GSM ROM to a CDMA phone. It will not work.

The CDMA touch pro 2 is also a "world phone" so it has a built in GSM radio. The key is unlocking it for domestic GSM carriers. There are some unlockers to do this, but I am assuming there are various different radios and ROMs you can use that may make this work better or be easier to use.

I am aware of the "world phone" capabilities, and I stand by my statement. You will brick your CDMA phone if you flash a GSM ROM. You need to flash a CDMA ROM.
I believe that it is possible to "un-brick" back to CDMA, although so far as I know no one has "un-bricked" a GSM phone that was accidentally flashed with CDMA.
for better results... aka answers.
i suggest asking this question here --> linky.
because primarily your phone is CDMA,
therefore a CDMA ROM would be needed/required.
i also suggest a read of this --> linky.
it is very informative.
and should help a lot with answering your questions.
hope that helps.

As a CDMA/GSM phone we have the capability to use a GSM sim card, but we can only use tools that were specifically built for CDMA, including ROMs/radios. Flashing a GSM rom/radio will seriously hurt your phone, possibly rendering it unusable.
To unlock for a GSM carrier in the continental US, you will first need to SIM unlock, either through calling your carrier and requesting a SIM unlock or using the olinex SIM unlocker found in the CDMA forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=517
There are a couple guides to getting the tp2 working on various carriers.
Wellllll... Where are the guides
Please some help,
I have read and reand and dont find the answer.
i have a world phone, i just to know if there are custom ROMs for them, i use it mainly on GSM but i would not like to lose the CDMA option.
My device is a sprint TP2, i am using it in Mexico, with telcel GSM. I Just want a custom ROM for it, please Help!

[Q] Noob ?: Are ROMs carrier specific?

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I couldn't figure out the answer clearly after doing a search. I currently have the S3 with Sprint and am using a custom ROM. I want to switch to T-mobile (b/c their service is better in my area) and I know that I will have to get a new S3 that works on their GSM network. My question is will the same ROMs that worked on my Sprint S3 work on my Tmobile S3, or are roms carrier specific? Thanks
For the most part, roms are carrier specific. There's a sticky thread in development that you can make any rom work for your phone, you will have to get your hands dirty tho. Not just a zip and flash type thing.
