I would like to know if it's possible to change the day at which the week starts in the calendar. And if it's possible, how can I change it.
Thnx a 1000000
in standard windows calendar
Hi,
Open the standard windows calendar (not HTC calendar) and search for tools/options. There you have the option for the first day of the week: Monday or Sunday. Whatever you choose it will be valid also for HTC calendar.

Yes you should sync. yor contacts with Outlook on your desktop (if you want to use this soft of course ).
In Outlook 2007 on your desktop, go to Detail and you'll find a birthday date and a weeding (translation ?) date also. If you put a date, you'll have an all day appointment, once sync. is done.

Hi,
Could u please explain it a bit more...I have opened the outlook and am I required to setup a new account or anything? Which menu should I access to sync my contacts?
Sorry for the noobie questions
I'll try with my poor english
I'm not sure you must create a new email account if you don't want to use Outlook 2007 for mailing on your desktop.
Try to skip this step (if I remember, you can use Outlook just for calendar and contacts).
If it's ok, create your contacts (you will have a tree on the left side and buttons at the bottom for calendar, contacts, tasks, etc.).
In a new contact window, on the top you will have an Action tab, and just on the right a Dispaly tab. In this tab, clic on the Details button and there you can write the birthday date.
For the synchronisation, once your phone connected on your desktop, open the device manager, and go to mobile setup, then, open Modify the synchronisation setups, tick Contacts, Save and it's ok.
I'm not sure about translation because I use a french Outllook 2007
I just got my TP2 a few days ago and really like it so far... had a bit of time getting ActiveSync to do what it's supposed to with Google Contacts and Gmail, but finally did it. I am using GooSync for the calender sync as I sync several calenders and this keep the formatting better.
My problem as it stands now is that calender only offers me two views; Month and Day. Something has switched and I no longer can access the Year, Week or Agenda views.
Can anyone offer any help on the matter.
Thanks very much and I hope to one day offer more t the group.
The reason you can't see the standard calendar stuff is because the default calendar that you see isn't the standard Windows Mobile Calendar (as you remember it), it's the HTC TF3D overlay version of calendar.
The stock WinMo caledar is still there...not sure right now the easy way to enable it, but you can access it from "All Programs".
That doesn't solve your problem, but it explains it.
Thanks very much... it does indeed explain the "problem."
Interesting that it differs by such slight differences that makes the program seem buggy rather than different.
Hello All!
I just sold my Desire and Got a Galaxy S and I am very suprised that when I have a calendar event with a location adress, I cannot launch navigation to go there.
I am sure that with my Desire, when I had a event with a location, I just clicked on the location and that was easy to go at this event.
Am I misusing my phone or did I miss something?
Thank a lot for your precious help.
it's indeed not possible. if you're rooted you could delete the TW calendar and replace it with stock
mhhh seem a good reason to root my device!
Any feedback on other people that replace the calendar app?
That does not give any issue?
Sorry to post again, but any of the people that tried Froyo rom may send me a feedback?
I would like to know if installing new software would allow me to launch navigation from a calendar event.
That's really important for me!
Thank a lot for any information.
in calendar app, how can I change an event to "not participating" without deleting the event. Its possible in Google Calendar and sync is fine but don't know how to do it on SGS. plz help!
Anybody know of a calendar that will actually tell you how old someone is once you put in their birthday? I use to have a windows mobile phone and I could put in someone's birthday and then each year it would tell me their age ie: Bill's birthday (34). I haven't been able to find any calendar that can do this on android. Any help??
In this amazing world of Android, is there not an app that can decipher an email and add the appt to calendar? For example, I get a lot of emails advising me of the practice schedule for the coming week or two, the email has days and times and locations. Is it too much to ask to have those times automatically added to my calendar? I mean Google now goes far enoughthat it will track parcels or flights, is this not the next logical step? Is tedious to manually add them from each email. I would expect some kind of visual confirmation where you could edit any minor details of course. Any dev who could come up with this would clean up! Unless there's something like this on the market that I've overlooked?

Just a quick update, after checking, it appears that the problem is only with Gmail? If I forward these Gmail messages to Hotmail or others, the time in the body of the email is highlighted, allowing me to tap it to create a date on Samsung calendar. I have to fill in the details but that's what I'm talking about!
I guess I could create calendar date verbally with Google now. Anyone have a better way? Gmail is my main email.

Argh! I guess you mods can delete this thread. Apparently, if I open Gmail using the stock email app I can achieve what I wanted. Thanks me!

found your thread by searching the same content. I found this helpful because i have the same problem like yours, i.e. too many emails with appointment and schedule which i hardly manually enter into my calendar. switching apps also takes too many steps to complete. Ive never use Stock Email that came with the device (i am on Samsung galaxy note 3 now). Let me try see if it works. However, I found stock email app is a bit slow receiving emails, that's why ive never used it Did you find any other app that does the job? i also looking for an app which can remind me to reply emails later, because some emails come, i skim through it and will reply later when i have time. But sometimes i forget to reply, and very hard to find the mail again you have any solution for this?
cheers
