Eclair 2.0 Chinese input - Hero, G2 Touch Android Development

Hello everyone
Is there any way to have any chinese IME (CHT, preferrably), on eclair roms at the moment? porting HTC_CIME.apk (from 1.5/6) or Google pinyin does not work.

have u tried this?

Thanks for the reply; however, in G3s the IME selector does not have checkboxes - that means, i can't select any IME input methods other than the default ones that are there...

Layout Keyboard

Hi Guys, i have a question...
If i flash my WM5 TyTN (Ita) to a WM6 English Version how can i do to have a right KeyBoard layout?
Thx
dont worry about the keyboard layout too much. just READ the forums and you will see that there are keyboard fixes for all of the known layout issues. some like the ROMs from Custel even allow you to change the layout through a built in application in the setting.
well thx for the answer... I search and i found not so much just: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=313814&highlight=keyboard+layout+fix
Is it the right way or does exist a .cab file?
Just install Shadowmites HTCustom1.5
It allows you to choose different kb layouts.

Yes indeed !
Edit:
Any solution to that??
I too have this problem, or at least something similar.
I flashed to Davideuk's V2 Topaz rom. After installing I found the new keyboard worked in both keypad and qwerty with t9 support However today I discovered that t9 no longer works and the keypad only types numbers, even with the letters showing and regardless of t9 or ABC selected. This evening I'll probably re-flash the rom and go through my settings and apps, checking 1 at a time to see what breaks it... unless someone knows of a fix already?

No need to flash new ROM. If you have HD Tweak installed scroll down to T9 Mode and disable it. Your keyboard should be totally operational again!

get the IME keyboard, it has chinese PinYin
It doesn't work
Get the app HanWriting from android market. Allows you to switch keyboard to enable chinese input like a scratchpad so you can write the characters if you know. I think it supports pinyin as well but I don't use pinyin so not sure if that works.

[Q] adding languages to HTC's Keyboard

Is it possible to add languages that are not found originally in the phone to HTC's keyboard without installing any additional keyboards (i mean, without installing GO keyboard, etc)?
Thanks in advance

[Q] How to change language input method in AFTV?

Dear all
I'm using AFTV for HTPC and multimedia platform in the living room.
If I can use Korean language input, it would be perfect for my family.
But I couldn't find any way to change language input method.
So is there anyone who can give me an idea how to change the settings?

I found the way by myself
I think the other language could work also.
1. install setting.apk
2. Amazon keyboard popup disable
adb shell
su
pm disable com.amazon.tv.ime
3. Install Korean(DoDol Keyboard) keyboard from google play store
- android setting -> language input -> installed keyboard setting
4. Now I can use english and korean both...
I can't seem to use your method..
Hi kwansiky,
I was wondering if you could help me out I'm trying to use a second language on my AFTV. I've installed settings.apk as you suggested, but when I go to "Language & input" it just crashes. Anything special you did to make it work?
Thanks!

There was only one task issued before install & setup korean keyboard
adb shell

pm disable com.amzon.tv.ime
Also
After issue above command, I entered config via keyboard app.
The keyboard app is "dodol keyboard" - I can't link coz forum's polocy.
After setting I could enter language setup via android setting also.
