Does somebody know how to change this?
I was on a call with US Cellular. Then a txt msg was delivered to my phone and the ringtone for that msg. played while I was on the call.
Tech told me i have to change the setting for on call alarm. I looked everywhere, so I think, for anything related to "on call alarm". I have had no luck.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the TP2 had the capabilities to have a different ringtone for each person so that when they call AND text it is the same ringtone for that specific contact, instead of defaulting back to the main ringtone for texts. I have tried searching for this on google but I have only found solutions for this problem if I have a blackberry. For example, I would like Song A to play for Person A when they text AND call. I would like Song B to play for Person B when they text AND call. Right now all it will do is to play Song A when Person A calls and Song B when Person B calls. When either Person A or B texts me, it will play Song C. Is there something I am missing on what to do to fix this? Is there a setting I can change or is there a hack that I can use? Any help is appreciated.
PhoneAlarm lets you assign custom tones based on email or SMS subject & sender.
(I'm starting to feel like a shill for PA, but it is the only thing I have to contribute at this point.)
There is no "built-in" method for setting per-person Text ringers. (I used to have this feature on VzW's "The V" a few years back, and haven't seen it built-into a phone since).
As the other poster mentions, there are various applications that can be installed after-the-fact to provide this feature for each contact for text messages.
Definitely need to try PhoneAlarm myself... hadn't seen that one yet.
I am sure this is caused by an app but not sure when it started...
Has anyone experienced when a call comes in while on a call that the call id does not match to the contact on the phone?
If I am on a call and wife calls from "Home" it will not show HOME just the number...it happens about 4/5 times...
anyone???
I have been having this as well.
I think your description is a little off as well - the caller ID is working, but it is not matching the caller ID number to the phonebook entry. Mine is not happening very frequently, about 1 out of 10 calls, but it's still very annoying.
sometimes ur book has the +1 country code, but the incoming doesnt.
although my phone recognizes right either.

Correct...thx for the correction
Hi, I use xdandroid with Oct 20th kernel. What I'm intended to do is to avoid incoming calls being interrupted during testing new builds, by setting up call forwarding from WM6, before launching xdandroid and test phone calls, then cancel call forwarding in xdandroid after then.
What I found is if I dial ##21# (the GSM command for cancelling call forwarding), xdandroid tells me "Cal forwarding Erasure was successful", but in fact calls are still being forwarded.
I did also looked in settings -> call settings -> call forwarding. I can cancel call forwarding from there but setting one up doesn't seems to work.
Does anyone notices this?
I would just cancel call forwarding when you get back to WinMo. That makes the most sense anyways, what if someone tries to call you in Android or while your rebooting to WinMo...? Seems kinda silly to me.
I don't think forwarding works in Android, for the record. If it does, there was another guy asking about it at Connect-UTB that would like to know how to use it
I recently decided to look into using YouMail. Basically, it forwards your unanswered calls to a mail box that is much more feature rich than the boring carrier voicemail. I have enabled call forwarding on my account, set up the call forward numbers, and my YouMail account is linked to my device. The only problem is that when I call my phone from Skype, I get a message saying something along the lines of "this voicemail inbox is not set up properly, please dial the number you are trying to reach in order to find the mailbox of the number you are calling".
As for the call forwarding options, there is the option of setting the voicemail number in the settings of the phone. I assume this is where I would enter the retrieval number and not the number to forward voicemail calls to. There is also the option to set where the calls are conditionally forwarded. This is where I assume I put the number where people actually leave voicemail, amirite?
Nevermind, it ended up being an OCN issue. I resolved it by getting YouMail Pro so I have my own personal voicemail number. Works great now!
Hello all, this is my first post.
I'm having an issue when an unknown caller calls my cell phone. When they call, for example, it will say Incoming Call &êï¥à. Respectedly, once I miss the call, it will say (In the top bar notification area) Missed Call from &êï¥à. I can open up missed call logs and the number shows up there, but what's with these characters? It's really annoying as I would like to just look at the phone as they're calling to see who it is. If I save the number in my contact list, it will show up correct with the name I assign. I have caller ID with my Rogers plan so that can't be it. I am using the Samsung Galaxy S III (Rogers) with CM 10.1 nightly, before I was on the 10.0 stable.
How can I fix this issue?
tl;dr: when someone calls it says Incoming Call &êï¥à (or some other symbols) and also say missed call from &êï¥à in the notifcation window yet shows the number when i open call logs, which is annoying.
