Which ROM is running on your Desire... Please Vote

...Since the last Poll started a long time ago, I thought it would be nice to see whats the most favorite Rom on the market at the moment.
So please vote for your Rom and maybe describe your choice...
CyanogenMod Nightly here as my sig says.
oxygen rom
i prefer AOSP roms
Still the wrong forum, has nothing to do with Development....
Oxygen ROM. It's best for me.

i would say it has to do with development in the aspect that we can see what roms are most used and that might help the developers deside what ppl want in there roms and maybe add some features that other roms have to there´s to get it more popular.
would also help new ppl decide what rom to take since they will prolly start with the one most ppl use couse that must be allround good and pretty general appealing also it gives a better oversight of what roms that there are.
I use Defrost now cause I like the AOSP Rom, but when I do use Sense, it's LeeDroid All the way..
Both are super stable, have almost all features people require, and if they dont, the dev's are usually able to include it within a couple releases. Also, both dev's spend alot of time interacting with the communities on the forums, which is a great sign of ANY rom!
My own Rom Based on the HTC Stock Froyo 2.10.405.2...
Many of us been using leedroid... I wish there's a leedroid version of non sense super fast stable rom... hope oxygen makes it perfect ^^ i love everything about non sense, but sense dialer is just owning...
I'm running LeeDroid 2.2f because for me, it's a good ratio of classic HTC Sense feeling to root and modding options. Or, to put it like this: It allows me to use all the good things about Sense without restricting me too much. Perfect for a user who, like me, is pretty new to Android.
My prerequisites are sense, UI close to stock, normal battery consumption, a2sd+ and UVOC.I have tried the following over the past couple of weeks:
Leedroid 2.2f- too much bloatware, monstrous battery consumption but the most reliable
dj droid 1.8 - closest to stock, has battery z mod, stable, doesn't have OC, a2sd doesn't function properly.
AuraXTSense 8.0- I'm sticking with this one, it is not bloated, a2sd+ works, fast. Clock with weather widget acts strange but working most of the time. I wouldn't call it unreliable but I managed to freeze it two times [email protected]
Cyanogen 6.0.2. - no sense.
Rom by ieftm - I was planning of sticking with this but it needs to get fixed. One time it installs properly, the other I'm in a boot loop. Changing between recoveries doesn't help here.
Hope this helps.

I`m running CM 6.0.2 because i like Stock Android and it suits me fine...
I use Leedroid 2.2 f as Outlook sync is needed. It's very stable, fast and frugal with SetCPU and Juice Defender configured.

I tried the rest but stuck to the best Leedroid wins hands down
Oxxxxxyyyyygggggeeeennnn FTW!
Really, it's a good AOSP ROM.
gotta be defrost, fast reliable, and always updates!
after having tried almost all roms here around now I'm still (more than a month) with Ox
latest beta (0.2.2) is very fast & stable
Running MyTouch 4G.. or Robociks other great roms. Works smooth and well.
Sent from my HTC MyTouch 4G using Tapatalk
I'm using LeeDroid, in part because it's close to what i was moving from and because i also sync with Outlook. I've not yet been brave enough to remove Sense completely, as i'm guessing the HTC sync will go with it.
originally i used sense roms and tried various others (had to go back to sense as aosp roms stuttered and were laggy in comparison for me with 7 full screens). now i go between open desire, oxygen and miui (but with zeam launcher).
really at this point, it's a toss up between the latter 2 - at least until gingerbread comes out

What is the most UNIQUE rom?

I have flashed my fair share of roms from Sense to Sense(less), Foyo to Gingerbread the list goes on. One thing I have noticed is that they all seem to have a similar appearance. I have yet to see a Rom that is unique in appearance. Does anyone know of any Roms that give a truly unique look, something new and different?
MIUI is the most unique android rom, it's like a iphone android hybrid.
I agree. I always come back to Miui. They update the rom on every Friday, and as of late it has been incredibly stable. Every so often I'll switch to a Sense rom, but within a week I'm back to Miui.
Acer Liquid. Definitely.

Wrong lol I have to disagree and say the new liquid ui is the most unique Rom..its totally different

I found that Rom to be... I don't know, frustrating? Issues with the lockscreen, the multiple music players... I think Miui is much more solid, and the built in features are unmatched.
I would have to say that both MIUI are completly in there own. Both based off AOSP (incase you are wanting to try different kernels) But I preferred LiquidMetal. I am not a fan of the iphone. Although the options in MIUI were a lot better as far as customization. I only used each for a short time and am currently on gingersense remix (b2) (attempting to download b3 as I type. This one is nice but looking more like a sense rom with some of the new sense 3.0 stuff on it.
I say give both MIUI and liquid metal a go and see what you think.

How is that one running for you? I tried both 3.0 roms and got sick of the rosie loops.

I love Miui, I really do but it doesn't like my Incredible. It's starting to get better and more functional with the latest updates but still laggy. I have never tried nor heard of LiquidMetal. I will have to look into that one.
I am curious about the 3.0 Roms that are coming out. I'm timid to try them out right now though, I fear that since they are not "stable", I will grow a resilience to them.
MIUI gets my vote. The early versions were too much of an iPhone clone for my tastes but have since gone back to it on recent versions.
However, I'm not crazy about the way they did the launcher being iPhone-esque by keeping all apps on the desktop, I prefer having an app drawer. So I run it with the Go Launcher.
MIUI's theming engine is incredibly easy to create themes on your own, and there is a huge collection of themes online, although I like a good sleek dark theme.
It has been incredibly stable for me, and I've really gotten to like their styles of pop up dialogs and menus.
I have tried all of the 3.0 and 2.1/3.0 ROM's. I can tell you that after a few reboots and soft reboots, they will calm down, and you will enjoy them.
With that said, GingerSense ReMix by wdfowty is the best right out of the box. No loops at all, I assume because it is from a 2.1 base with 3.0 goodies added in.
Try them!

rom selection help please

i recently rooted my phone and flashed arhd, and got some great help and advice from here regarding which rom to start with.
Now i am see`ing new roms, updated versions and am struggling to choose again - from what i can tell there are 3 x varieties - one that has sense, one without sense and a miui version, and then in al lthe threads of the seperate varieties they all seem to have the identicle set up - and same issues - most recent being no wifi connection, so an updated rom is released.
do people really flash a rom daily? or do you just stick with one that works?
i would like to have some sense 3 bits, but every rom seems to be sufferign the same problems and they all look the same except a different kernal is used, how do i choose?
Im after using a good few of the roms now and I was using CM7 since it came out. Yesterday I changed to honeysense HD and I must say I love it. I use SPB 3D shell launcher so it looks basically the same as alot of the other ones anyways but there are a few nice little changes in it that I love. You should seriously think about trying it. You wont be sad you tried it.
It's pure personal preference.
I have worked my way around judt about all the different flavour ROMs but my fav choice is resting solidly on the COREDROID Rom.
Just take some time and try each one I am sure you will find one you like. Ad for flashing all the time I did initialy but I settled down and the ROMs get better each time a new version is released.
Have fun

I have just started getting into this and for the first few weeks flashed pretty much most roms that were available. I then found the MIUI rom and fell in love with it.
Coredroid is my favorite one of the sense type roms
It is down to personal preference and best thing to do is try a few of em and I'm sure you will find one that you like

thats excatlly what i was going thru. I'm the kinda guy who flashes almost daily
I have had a run of almost all of them.
If you want to have pure sense 3 experience then RCmix kingdom is the one you could go for.But as it is still in beta/development stage you should expect few bug's here and there.
If you dont want to have bugs and have sense 3.0 parts (lockscreen,camera....) then i personally suggest lee driod or andriod revolution rom's with sense 3.0 addon's they are both stable rom's with very few issue's in them.
I'm currently am on RCmix 5.9 (Old school ) with sense 3.0 addons in it with lee's kernel.
On the other side Miui freshly squeezed is the best you could find which is close to sense like experience with the power of CM 7. Give it a try i'm sure it will tempt you to forget sense for a while
Hope this help you out
Happy flashing
HoneySense
I am using the Honeysense HD rom. It is great, the dev is very dedicated and releases updates very quickly.
I was looking at honeysense. Looks good from images and thread messages. Cheers for replies everyone.

DUDE!! If you have DHD then the ROM(s) to follow are LeeDroid and RCMIX Kingdom.. At the moment both have released newer versions of their ROMS so you just need to see which ROM works best for you and of course for your device ;o)
Lee has a mixture of Sense 2.1 and 3.0 and RCMIX Kingdom has Sense 3.0 but after flashing RCMIX's Rom it says Sense 2.1..I THINK it's still a bug BUT his ROM is superb.. The battery life might be a bit annoying but thank GOD for the extra battery ( if your SP provided you with an extra .. of course )..hehhe!
MIUI should not be option on your DHD cos I personally think that the phone was built around Sense and I don't think that MIUI has any Sense version on it..
MIUI might look super cool but try LeeDroid OR RCMIX's first before you move to MIUI..>>> OR VICE VERSA ;o)
Hope my 2 cents comment helps you ;o)
Spent my first week changing and trying different ROMs.
Started worth arhd since it has great doc for newbies.
Then, tried all other sense rom and stayed a while with lee droid.
Switched to cm7 then to mdj cm7.1. Stayed there a long time. Close to a month.
Then back to sense since I want panorama! And tried tb and mdj vivo.
Now on vivo.
Think I'll stick with mdj.s rom.

if you want sense 3 then i recommend you ioos rom.
cause its true sense without any extra's.
so far no issues for me.
Had the same problems. I tried virtually all roms, from sense to no sense. Like IOO sense 3 rom so much. CM 7 & MIUI are just not my thing. The best rom in my opinion right now is VIVO. Its very smooth, the battery life is amazing, minimal bugs report. But at the end its a matter of personal choice.

I have been using Honeysense HD since i rooted 2 weeks ago and found it to be very pretty without many problems the only thing i cant seem to sort out is my battery life 100% at 10.20pm put phone on standby and at 5am i'm at 75%. Thinking i'll try another ROM.
I've tried ARHD, MIUI, LeeDroid and CM7. After all this I choose to switch between ARHD and MIUI freshly squeezed edition, but I still prefer ARHD for its stability and good battery life.

Need advice from Desire HD users!!

I'm looking for a bit of advice, my friend just came into town to visit me with a desire hd, and I've been looking for a good stable rom for him, the phone is already s-off rooted and all that, it has a ext-4 recovery or something like that based off clockworkmod, whoever did the phone put a nosense/sense 3.0 rom on it but after I compared it to my htc hd2 running cm7 wasn't too impressed, and I know the desire hd can run a whole lot better, but after looking thru the roms found almost all roms are based of sense 3.0 or 3.5 , is there any good aosp or cm7 that any would recommend for me or any good stable sense rom that definitely is the preferred, and if anyone has any suggestions and can add what radio and ril I need for it I would appreciated. I searched and the cm7 looked like there were issues with them and ultimate droid had been discontinued, was hoping MDJ was still working in them, but I guess everyone is moving to sense.
deleted......
Be patient okay well cm7 is the best aosp Rom (stable and a lot of support)but in my opinion sense 3.5 from rcmix is THE BEST ROM

Android Revolution HD is a great sense ROM, there is also a de-sense flashable zip.
By the way, your comments above (however intended) won't win you any help! ! Keep that in mind.
ROM styles and features are personal taste, so best to try a few and make up your own mind. Just follow the Devs guide / OP and FAQ.
Backup apps and data with apps such as Titanium Backup (pro) and use CWM Recovery for nan-backup prior to flashing new ROMs or addons.
You may need to full wipe before flashing between ROMs (lose apps and data),.so backup first.

There are many of us willing to help out as much as we can, but we are in different time zones, countries etc.
Have a look at some of the screenshots in my sig to help with visual ideas, plus an up-to-date list of current XDA roms with links to the XDA threads.
Personally I enjoyed CM7 for ages and now I'm really happy with MIUI or the MIUI Freshly Squeezed Edition.
If you want AOSP ROM then try Hydrogenmod once.
CM7 is ok, but imo, Miui looks better. You can replace the miui launcher with LP/ADW and you still get the miui icon backgrounds. They both are pretty smooth and stable. Miui also has a pretty good music player with lyrics and a equalizer. CM7 has a super bright torch (Its brighter than most lights...) and DSP manager. I haven't seen any issues with CM7, most of the nightlies are pretty stable, CM7 based roms such as helios and hydrogen are also stable. Sci miui, RD miui and freshly squeezed are also really stable miui roms.
Sense just looks really nice, but isnt that functional or smooth (The launcher pretty much lags when a page is filled with apps, and the appdrawer always lags). Sense just has a better camcorder (Best AOSP camcorder is LG camcorder, which can record 1080p but still has no proper touch to focus in video - It does display a focusing icon now but still doesnt seem to focus for me). ROM Cleaner [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1050283] can remove most of the useless sense features.
Revolution would probably be the smoothest and most stable Sense 3.0 Rom. Leedroid is a good sense 2.1 rom (The new sense 3.0 version is somewhat glitchy). You can also try the V6 Supercharge script [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278299]
CM7 nightlies (I'm on 220 at present) have always worked very nicely for me, together with the latest radio and matching RIL. I generally have the LCD density set to around 190-200.
The only thing I missed coming from Sense was the calendar and bookmark widgets, replacements for these can be found using Android Pro Widgets on the market.
Why anyone would use Sense is a mystery to me. It's slow, bloated and battery life is horrible compared to CM7. Also beware MIUI as in my experience the battery drain on standby can be horrific - not sure if that has been sorted out in the most recent version though.
I apologize if some thought I was being out of line getting upset but sitting, watching the thread sit and the views count going up, and nobody bothering to make a suggestion was pretty upsetting. I know we are in different time zones, and I would understand if that was the case and nobody was in the forum to lend a hand, but that wasn't the case, people were taking the time to read it and move on and post to other threads, that's why I got upset.
For the people that took the time and help me out I thank you, I hope I can squeeze time today before my friend has to fly back home to do his phone and put something stable enough for his every day use.

If you like what all HTC can do with Sense 3.5 on Android, check out RCMix Runny 1.5 or RCMix Bliss 1.3 ROMs. Stable releases with fixes coming often for issues if any.
For a stable release with Sense 3 and latest gingerbread, check Android Revolution HD (most widely used ROM for DHD).
But, the best thing you can do is try as many ROM's as you can and use each for atleast a week. I could not stand MIUI which many like for whatever reasons they have.
Can someone tell me which ROM has the best battery life?
In my little experience i can say:
-the fastest Sense 3 Rom i've used was the Pyramid3d 1.1
-the nicest one with all the new Sense 3.5 feature, stable and smooth, is the Runny3D and i must say love Sense 3.5!
Now i'm on BlackIce,very speed and for now i've got the best battery life but i'm using it since yesterday so i must test well... Thanks to IceTool Dolby and SRS are working too .
So if you wont AOSP Rom i think BlackIce is the best one!
(Sorry for bad english!)

[Q] What's the difference between ARHD and Viper rom?

Aside from themes and customization what are the differences? What should I expect using them ?
I'm on ARHD right now and been itching to flash to Viper rom but I'm leaving for a trip so I can't afford to switch roms in between.
If ARHD is working fine for you right now, then wait till you get back. I did the stupid mistake of flashing CM10 before a trip and it kinda made things really difficult. The camera was all messed up, GPS was acting up and battery life was quite unpredictable, so I couldn’t rely on my phone when I really needed it.
However, since Viper is also a sense ROM you wouldn’t notice that much of a difference, but still you never know what kind of trouble you might run into....
I'm relatively new to the forums so been reading up on everything, I just flashed ARHD today and it would be insane to switch immediately without giving it a try What happened to leedroid btw? Seems he's been inactive at the HOX forums, I really love his work on the Desire from way back.
I have been using the ViperX Rom now for awhile and besides the sheer Customisation of the ROMs I don't see any much difference (last ARHD Rom I used was 7.1)
But I must say that it is frikin awesome specially the whole auto software update so dont really have to manually flash your phone with the latest ROM/build each time
thats my 5c
ARHD is a stock rom tweaked by Mike to give you the better performance and great battery life. He removes all unwanted crapware and installs apps that are useful. there are a few mods as well that are made for his rom as well...just check Jotha's mods in his opening page of the thread..
Viper X is a stock rom as well but with a lot of tweaks by that team and very customizable. so many icon packs so many statusbar themes that you will have your lips drooling...all honesty both are great roms but for me ARHD gives me that extra edge cause you get great support, the dev is awesome and pure and simple it is one great freaking rom
Another Viper user here, and can't recommend it enough, not too much difference between them all, just personal choice, and i like running "de sensed". but i would also agree with previous advice in leave it until you return from your break, i have settled on Viper as my daily driver having tried others over the last few months (ARHD, Insertcoin, Leedroid, Jellybean)
Leedroid is having personal issues that's why there is no activity on the rom.
From my experience with ROMs based on stock firmware, they are all pretty much the same performance and battery wise. The difference comes in customization and so forth.
You might want to stay with ARHD because viper x is not running on the newest sense 4.1
Personally I prefer Viper rom purely just becuase of the amount of customizations which are not available on ARHD. If you wish to stay with a rom which has not strayed too far from stock, but has better performance then perhaps stay with ARHD. If you like to change the look of the theme and icons etc. I would highly suggest going for Viper which also includes many performance enhancements.
Either way they are both good.
Trying not to go off subject, you do however have many choices of kernels to use. Big differences can come in to play with the path you take. I peronally use faux.
Maybe a little OT but my 2 cents is the both of the two worlds:
I use InsertCoin Rom 7.3.0 and it is just perfect. You get the smoothness of ARHD and some tweaks of Viper roms.
I find EQS really good and just 1 theme has been released.
Ofcourse you can use ARHD and flash yourself all the mods, but it is easier pre-cooked imho
Did you compare the feature list of both rom's?
