Welcome to forums
If box states that it must be sim capable.
Inspect your device, under the battery should be a place for inserting a sim

The Sprint version is being advertised as an international phone, and comes with a Sprint SIM card pre-installed, and what appears to be a security strap, making it difficult to remove.
Before traveling internationally, you can call Sprint ahead of time to have them active their SIM card, and for the low low price of $1.99/minute, you can use overseas GSM networks to make phone calls, and in many cases, data access.
Of course I'd like to buy a pay-as-you-go SIM card and install that for much more reasonable rates while overseas, but I'm not sure if it's as simple as plugging in a different SIM card.
I had read that the Rogers version of the phone required...something to active the SIM slot, and even then seemed not to work for data via 3G.
Anybody else have the Sprint version? Played with GSM yet?
I'm a little apprehensive to start tearing into it to remove their SIM card just yet...
The GSM is 2G only, no 3G.
Well my buddy has a AT&T sim card that i put in my TP2 but it did not work. I switch the phone to GSM only but it did not pick up a network. I also put that sprint sim on his phone but it had no network either. According to the manual its lock from going to a gsm network on the USA.

Hopefully a custom ROM can unlock the ability to use GSM networks in the United States!

good to know.
I read in the manual that it was not usable on US GSM networks too, but I assumed that was because they never intended for you to remove the Sprint SIM card, so of course the Sprint SIM card wouldn't work domestically.
So it seems the Sprint phone can be unlocked for GSM just like the Telus phones, but I haven't read of any success getting GSM 3G to work w/ an unlock code.

d'oh, missed this....
What about EDGE?
Check the specs, if it said gsm 850,1900 it should be able to use with in the US. Just have to sim unlock it first in order to use.

Has anyone had problems with LTE tab s 8.4" sim card ?
the signal bars all the time are full as if there is sim card in the device. i tried inserting two nano sim cards with micro adapter it immediately asks to restart as Sim card detected..
I place sim card, restart and NOTHING !
same full bar signal all the sim with/without sim. Still says no sim card inserted.
Device from singapore.
Now i know 8.4 LTE tab S is 3g/4g sim card compatible and sim cards work perfectly otherwise. i reset factory settings with no results !
going to mobile networks trying to chose networks also gives error of no network available.
ANy ideas/ Help !
thank you
nope dont have problem here in malaysia. and i just got back from singapore yesterday. working fine with the signal there as well.
i am overseas now i can use the at&t micro card to detect other networks.
but when i use other sim cards, it seems they are not detected !!
what is the difference in Sim Cards for T705 Tab S ?????????????
it turned out to be the sim itself needed to be renewd to be enabled. thank you for the help.
What is the sim card in the back for? I didn't think sprint used sim cards.
Sprint uses it for LTE.
You can also call Sprint and have your phone internationally unlocked. You can then use a foreign sim card.
I am planning on getting the zenfone 2 until I became questioning. I have a personal phone on wind and a business phone on telus, and I need to know if the dual Sim will support that. One of them will be the data but both numbers are gonna be used. I can set up call forwarding. Will this configuration work? Thank you
PS. This is for 2 gig 1.8 GHz version
Provided the sim you use for data is in sim slot 1 and you don't want anything other than talk and sms on sim 2. It should be fine. The sim in the 2nd slot must be able to support 2g.
I need the telus one to support 2g then? How do I check of it is supported
Ask them? I'm on a 3 and 4g only network for one sim and that has to be in slot 1. Won't work in sim 2 at all. The other sim is an EE UK sim and that works fine in both slots.
Hello, I need yours help, my phone Moto Z Play has a problem, it does not see the network, the SIM card sees and the network does not, it does not ask for water code, other functions work, I went into BP Tools and that's what I saw if I understand something, then the ICCID of the phone does not coincide with the ICCID SIM card, which indicates the Verizon GSM lock is only for it, or I'm wrong, and therefore GSM does not turn on if not inserted Verizon SIM card , and it GSM is activated only with the Verizon SIM card.
Phone ICCID Compare with SIM ICCID Eror

How can I fix this, so that the phone works with any SIM card.
Thank you.
Tried to reach Verizon, it's useless, they say that they do not block GSM, I gave them a screen where the phone writes that the ICCID of the phone does not coincide with the ICCID SIM card, and they do not stop their verizon, that's all.
