Hi there
I want to try using a custom ROM and Radio instead of the original HTC software. But I am not sure if I can revert back to the original setup once I have flashed my phone with a custom ROM.
Can anyone confirm if it is possible to revert to the original ROM and how to do it?
Regards
Thomas
There is no restriction in doing so, however if order to flash custom cook ROM, u need to get your device HardSPL. Relock SPL required, if you you are gonna send for a repair, that's another story.

Hi imatrix
Thanks for your fast reply. What is this "Relock SPL"? Will it revert my HTC to the original ROM? Or will it make it possible to reflash the phone with an original HTC ROM?

if I can, i would. the only way to flash a recovery to this phone is to use the goldcard + flash a WWE rom, which already overwrites it.
any other suggestions?
try deleting every image except the recovery.img from the WWE rom
Hi all,
Need to revert my phone back to stock 2.1, do you just download the stock rom and flash??
What's the difference between then signed and unsigned versions?
I don't have a goldcard, never made one, is that a problem. I am currently running clockwork mod with oxygen. I have not s-off'd the phone.
Any info would be great as I have to return it to three to cancel my contract.

Do you know what ROM was originally on the phone? This should be the first thing anyone does before rooting so you can go back if you need to
H3G android 2.1. That's all I know.
Any ideas?

Found an old post I made with some details about the original rom,
Radio 32.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09
Hboot 0.83.0001
Rom Stock 2.1 Update 1
I cant find this rom to flash back to stock, can only find the two H3G roms on the sticky.
Anyone got any ideas on this, need some help fast please.
Cheers

did you keep the backup from when you first rooted your phone?
I did, but the sd card failed and I lost everything. Can I flash either of the stock roms or will one of them, or both, kill the phone?
If you are on 3 UK then you could use the newest 3 ROM from shipped-roms.com
Thats it? No need to use a goldcard (the one I dont have) just run the exe and it'll flash the rom, radio and be back to stock again?
Cheers

Hello! i`m newbie when it comes to android platform. I have perm-rooted my DHD, and I wanted to flash a new ROM (eg. LeeROM) but before doing that, I want to have a copy of the stock RUU of my phone which is Japan`s Softbank 001HT (1.35.762.2), for me to be able to restore the phone back to its original state if needed. I`ve googled it out but I can`t find a RUU for this. My question is, if i can get the boot.img of the stock ROM, and save it in my PC, is it the same as the RUU for my phone? If i have this boot.img of stock ROM, no matter how many times i flash it and install a custom rom, can I use that boot.img to restore it to its original state?
Thanks in advance...

you need more than the boot.img all that does is boot android and execute and pre-boot scripts..... if you have the ruu you can return to stock just by running it

Yes. It's the same advice that is given daily to everybody else that wants to return to stock.
Find the correct RUU from the shipped ROM sticky thread in the dev section, put the phone in fastboot.mode and run the RUU.
If you can't find the right RUU, search the same thread, I can assure you, you won't be the first person to want to do this.

As far as I know in order to reinstall the original stock ruu you will need to relock (unroot) your phone. If you want something near to stock rom then I would suggest the Android Revolution rom.
Android Revolution works even better than stock. You'd try it!
restore the nandroid backup?
