has anyone heard/seen a tweak for allowing the LED to flash for missed call, email, etc. when the device is plugged in (in the same way it does when the device is not plugged in)? When it is plugged in the LED is always steady; either red for charging or green for charged.
I noticed this on day one so would love to know if there was a fix. Its really annoying since I was so used of this feature on my XV6800.
This is prob a simple fix if you know where to look. When charging how do you stop the screen dimming. This is annoying when in the car and has only started doing it after the latest upgrade to 4.1.1.
Have looked in settings but cannot see anything in the display and battery sections.

you want the screen to stay on the entire time the phone is charging?
if so:
Settings > Developer Options > Stay Awake (Screen will never sleep while charging)
you want that checked.
No, he wants the screen not to dim after x amount of time, which it does even if set to stay awake during charge.

ahh yes, I see what's going on now. There's no direct setting for this (that I know of), but it would be very easy to set up in Tasker.
The screen normally dims 10 seconds (or is it 15 seconds) before it shuts off. So if you normally have it the screen turn off at 1 minute, it'll dim at around 45-50 seconds. However, when the option is checked to never turn off the screen when charging, the time at which the screen dims is still based on that same setting, and still occurs 10-15 seconds when the screen would have turned off (had the stay on setting not been checked).
If you already have tasker, you should be able to set this up in just a few minutes. Set up a profile that becomes active when the USB is plugged in. When that profile is active, it starts a task that sets the screen time to something crazy (like 20 hours). and if the screen time-out is set to 20 hours, then the screen shouldn't dim until 19 hours, 59 minutes, 45-50 seconds. and then set up an exit task so that when the USB cord is unplugged, it sets the display time-out back to what you normally use (1 minute for me, but set it back to whatever you normally want).
Zeinzu is correct in what is happening. Why this has changed in the update is strange.
"Member", I appreciate your reply but for a novice like me it seems a bit in depth. Where can I get this "tasker" and I will have a go.
Thanks for all your help on this.

Tasker is available on the play store:

it can be little confusing at first, but read through the online guides, and I'd also be happy to help you get it set-up (at least with the profile/tasks I mentioned above to get you going with Tasker).
That is not the issue. When the charger is plugged in by default the phone makes a noise very X seconds which can be turned off but the screen dims and brightens as well when the charger is plugged in. This is really annoying!
Apparently the S9+ does not like my USB hub for charging. The hub even has charging only ports. When I plugged the phone into the normal ports I kept getting a pop up ever few seconds about that the computer should do with the phone. The red light would pop on and off while plugged into the usb port. When I connected the phone to a wall charger this dimming stopped.
I was also see the charging message pop on and off which I thought was quite odd. That disappeared when connected to the wall. It would appear that the phone was probing the usb for some kind of connection?
When the phone reaches 100% it seems a bright green light is stuck illuminated and a notification to unplug that cannot be swiped away. Is there a way to remove either of these once fully charged?
Have you tried pulling down the notification bar and then pressing clear? If this does not help, unplug the charger then try the same.
If that doesn't help, remove and then replace battery and see if you have same issue on a subsequent charge. Failing that, perform a factory reset. If that doesnt work, there might be a fault, exchange phone...
I bet someone on xda has a less convoluted solution though

*deleted* sorry, got the question wrong...
display -> LED indicator under settings is where you can control which types of event can trigger the LED.
as for the notification itself, that would probably require a modification to the system UI application.
and there's always the option "do what the error says" which is to unplug the power cable.
I think I know what you mean, this happened to me:
-My N2 was charged 100%.
-I took the charger out of the wall.
-I took the cable out of the N2.
After that, the N2 always seems to think it's still charging. So, take the cable out of the device first! BTW this is also in the manual.
new lg g4. as it says, it doesnt recognize it when I plug it in.
another thing I noticed is when I adjust the brightness of the screen, get out of the quick toggle settings, the screen will make this weird adjustment after 2-4 seconds for a split second..anybody else have this issue?
Problem with the charge of my phone, it no longer charging being turned on even when I connect it to the pc nothing happens but it loads well being off. I check on WPTweaker and I found the option Disable USB Control Panel enable, I disable it when I restart the phone it comes back being activate.
