Hi,
I installed the file extension explorer app on my rhodium. It works good but doesn't give a preview of the images. So each time, i have to select a particular image from a list, i have to go one-by-one opening all of them in the album and visually select the one that i was looking for. Is their a way, i could get a preview image, or perhaps, see thumbnails of the images. Or would i need to uninstall this file explorer extension and install total commander or some other file explorer app?

There are a number of TP2 tweaks which require the editing or replacement of files - for example, there is supposedly a way of increasing the loudspeaker volume which involves replacing a file called AudioPara3.csv with an edited version. This file sits in the Windows folder.
I'm using Resco File Explorer on my TP2, with the corresponding shell extensions installed on my desktop Windows, but nothing I do will allow me to edit that file. Trying to overwrite it (by dragging the copy into the appropriate Explorer window on my desktop PC) fails, telling me that I don't have the necessary permissions. If I look at the file properties on my TP2, it's set to read-only. If I try clearing the read-only checkbox this looks as if it's going to work, but actually if I go back into properties again, it's still set to read-only. There's another (disabled) checkbox in the properties labeled "ROM" which is ticked - I assume it's this that is causing the problem.
I've also tried renaming the file - that, again, appears to work but what it actually does is to create a duplicate of the file with the new name while leaving the old file intact.
There must presumably be a way of overwriting this file, otherwise no one would have been able to install the tweak!
I have a similar problem with the weather database file - so I can't add in extra locations.
What am I missing?
Try doing it on the TP2 itself with Resco File Explorer. I do not have any problem so far. Not too sure when you use it on the desktop.

Several options in Resco File Explorer failed, but using the Copy To option worked, for some reason.
Don't think it actually made the speakers any louder, though.
You can also try Total Commander (not like it'll make the speakers louder, but for future reference).
Total Commander will work OR you can rename the original file, then copy the new one in.
I recommend (strongly!) the former since if you screw up you can fix it without a hard reset!
What is wrong with this file?
Hello,
I'd like to ask for some expert help.
I finally managed to edit an EXE file from Windows - just translating Japanese text to English. I used the MEditor suite. After saving, I "dropped" the file onto the SignCode.exe as per instructions.
When I transferred the file to its original location and overwrote the original one, I get:
"Cannot open... A critical component is either missing or cannot start because program memory is unavailable...."
I am sure I didn't change anything else but texts. So what could be wrong?
I am attaching the two files - the original and the edited - for someone to please look at them and let me know if there's anything I can do. This is Sharp's Barcode Reader.exe
Thanks!
Do any Android developers out there know how to create a new file association? I'd like to create a new extension, and for it to open via a file browser of my choice (which is currently ES File Explorer).
Thanks,
Lee
How I can organize picture in "Photo" gallery?
If you want separate albums: this can be done, but not from the Photo app itself.
For this you can best use an android File Manager, e.g. Astro.
First create a folder "Photos" inside /sdcard, and then one or more album folders inside Photos. Name them whatever you want!
Then use Astro to move files into the new folders. Go to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA and find them Then activate "Multi File"-mode using the Multi button. Next, select multiple files by short-pressing on them one by one, and when you are done choose Edit -> Move. Now navigate to the target folder, and do Edit -> Paste. Repeat for the next album!
You might also do this from your PC, with the phone connected as a USB drive. But I believe the Gallery app needs Image thumbnails to work, which ARE created when Astro does the moving, and which ARE NOT created when you use your PC + USB to move them.
Good luck with it!
Hi guys,
I'm really struggling with saving album art in poweramp so it displays every time without having to download it. And it not showing up in Gallery.
Is there a way to download the album art once and save it?
I have tried downloading album images from google put each one in the corresponding folder on my SD card and renamed each one to: albumart.pamp
it works fine but despite it being a .pamp file my gallery still displays bloody thumbnails of each one, very frustrating!!
Does anybody know a way of saving album art and it NOT showing up in the Gallery?
Thank you!
Download Quickpic from the Market. Simple long press the Album Folder and choose Hide it. Quickpic create a file named ".nomedia" in the right folder.
Or you can do it with a Filebrowser by your own (like Solid Explorer or ES File Manager). Go in the folder and create a new file, name it ".nomedia" (without the quotes). Done.

Thank you for your reply.
I am wanting to find a way of these not showing up in the stock ICS Gallery. Will this method work for stock Gallery?
I have tried Quickpic before and I really didn't like it.
Thank you for your time
I think so, but i can´t remember. I use Quickpic and also Poweramp.
Just try it... create the new file (.nomedia) and put it in your Music Folder and see what happend. If it don´t work... erase the .nomedia file
can anyone point me in the right direction for a extractor every time i try to down load one i get all these stupid adds that i don't trust. Thanks
