Hi Guys,is there a tv guide that works on our HDs,updated by connecting to Windows mobile, maybe the weeks programs on freeview.
Don
I'm also looking for this!
Me too, but for Bulgarian TV.
Doesn't anyone out there know of anything. It would be handy.
I am using TV-Browser.
A user called "Benne" wrote a viewer for WindowsMobile called TV-Browser Mini.
You have to install the desktopversion of TV-Browser. For the export to TV-Browser Mini you need a plugin provided by Benne.
I hope this is what you are looking for.
Best regards
here try this. I use this on my Touch Pro2 and works good, some of the menus are slightly off but still very very good. I forget where exactly I found it, I actually have been using it for almost a year on my Touch Pro and then my Imagio and now my Touch Pro2.
you could try asking the developer of OnTV
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548653
You can also try SPB Tv.
Thanks for the suggestions, lads, RKnight's one won't work on the HD but the last one is promising if I can get the listings to stay on the HD after updating as the weather does.I have asked the developer.

I was thinking about developing a TV-guide for the touch HD. There are some open source XML sources out there that could be used. I went as far as getting a fully working prototype up and running on my own device.
If its something that people want I could get it get it to a release build?
Yes Please

Any project or ppl working on this?
Not that i have heard of, i would have thought it is pretty unlikely to happen to be honest. Probably more chance of it on the I900.
I dont think our I780 user group is big enough for there to be the demand needed to make it worth someone doing it.
i dun think so man, it is a great challenge to do tat
i really wait eagerly for the day that i port my i780 to android! some people got to be working on this

Who is still interested by putting Android on his i780 ? I am personnaly interested ! who can upload the rom ?
i think, the first thing we should do is download the SDK and try to dump it into i780 if possible

We know that is some part of the world, the i780 is or is going to be distributed with Android installed on it, so for sure, maybe trying to dump these roms & to install them on ours, should be the first & best simple step, no ?
That's why I was asking for Android ROM as it should exists for i780 in some part of the world
Anyway, I just installed the Eclipse environment for the Android SDK... in the case of....
ME!
I would certainly like to run android on my i780.
The one reason i got it, was because of the touchscreen+qwerty setup, but the touch screen is pretty much useless as it is.... Well except from playing Lemmings CS, that is.
Bugs and a terrible UI are the main drawbacks of this device.
The only way I have managed to get sort of a finger friendly interface on it, is with spb mobile shell and the 320x320 theme pack. But it is not a todayplugin, and so "pop-ups" does not work properly, and it will go back to the WM today-page when clicking the end-button or exiting many apps.
WM was never made for a mobile phone device. Neither for being navigated without a stylus. I believe that is the main reason why it suck so much at both. Android on the other hand...
And from what I have seen so far, it looks nice. Me wants.
edit: Seems like the Koogan Agore was never released? A comment somewhere seems to point the finger at google an some google certification problem.. Still, maybe someone could mail them and ask nicely for the ROM?
I hate saying this, but is there any news? Maybe someone spotted some news on the web?
I found a video which showed two Samsungs running Android. The Omnia and the i780/Epix.
I'm searching for a couple of minutes now, but I can't find it anymore.

Looks promising indeed! Do you know how stable is this?
so has there been any significant breaktrhough regarding android and the i780
I had the wm6.0, then the 6.5 and now the 6.1, but I find them all to be much too unstable and to fidly to even bother learning more about them.
I did like the wm6.5 interface a lot and I believe android would be a class above everything else regarding UI
Also the guy on the blog posted an image with the android.

Any developments? is anyone working on an Android ROM for our i780?
http://androidoni780.blogspot.com/2009/08/how-to-get-android-on-your-i780-you.html
Now this is a new issue...Once started, on portrait mode, the slingplayer screen takes half the screnn of the HD.Also it is impossible to change channels as the buttons seem pressed there.
On Landscape mode the screen is filled up almost to the 90% capacity of the HD , thus making it very very comfortable to watch.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix the portrait mode???
Thanks
slingplayer impossible to use (touchscreen version)
has anyone managed to get slingplayer mobile working well on Touch HD? The buttons are impossible to use for the remote very small and not mapped correctly, also the full screen is not the whole screen only part of it.. anyone got any tips? I searched but noone seems to have solved this?
Hope it's sorted soon, asked the wife for a Slingbox for xmas :/

its just about usable although slow to use the menus for remote control functions but the streaming and PQ are excellent so its worth having!
I have it working.
I cannot however hand out the version I am using.
So, please wait. a version that does work perfectly with HD is on its way. I can also state SlingMobile version coming out soon works perfectly on Omnia and on the X1.
Sorry I can't hand this out, and please do not ask, as refusal may offend.
Ah... wonderful news indeed as this is one of my favorite apps.
awesome, figured out I can get the current version usable with Sky plus by using the favourites buttons to set the most common remote control functions but it would be good to have a version that works with WVGA properly!! Any idea on timelines for the newer version?
Any News?

There are a few more there to relating to WM and HD.
MOD EDIT
Moved to Themes, Applications and Software forum
Since it's unlikely we'll ever see the Sense UI, in the iteration that currently is available on the HTC Hero, i'm proposing that as a community we try and do our own clone for the Touch HD.
I know that a couple skins already exist, and kudos to their creators, but they're only surface skins, and i'm interested in proposing something that goes a little deeper.
How many people would be interested in contributing to the project?
Well the impression is that Manilla 2.5 is the new Sense for WM phones correct me if im wrong.
which is why i said the iteration of Sense UI that appears on the Hero device.
Dont waste your time. Its on android and you might aswell put your efforts in the backstone-android project here
http://blog.androidkernel.org/
Its not as easy as porting the UI from one winmo device to another. Think how long it has taken for the x1 panels to appear fully working. On top of this, it is in another OS and so that will bring difficulties in itself. Lets not forget that the hero isnt even a WVGA device.
I was thinking it could be done on top of another platform like even pointui. I don't expect it to be easy, but i don't think its impossible. Maybe saying the word port is incorrect.
There is nice new skin for Mobile Shell 3 which makes your phone look like with Sense UI.
http://www.mobilecustom.fr/forum/index.php/topic,2174.0.html
I already use this
Yes i know about the skins, i made reference to them in the first post, but they're only one layer deep, i want something approximating tf3d v2+ in its depth, but that looks like the Android version of HTC Sense UI.

Hello all
Does anyone know if it’s possible to run android on the Touch HD and where it can be downloaded from? I would like to give it a try to see if it’s quicker on the net as the wm base is painfully or could it be classed as suicidally slow
Cheers Jez

Have you even searched this forum?
1. Not its not fully functioning.
2. There is no release date.
3. Don't hassle the developers.
Seriously... There are new threads asking for Android on the HD popping up almost every day - why doesn't anybody use the search function? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524898) Or check the wiki? (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlackstoneLinux)
Now supports Rotation, same download place. I hope to see Rotate To Unlock applications Soon
Now Demo Rotate To Exit Application available, Youtube Video
Greetings XDA,
Today i released the beta version of the SDK
In December last year, i posted an Alpha version of this SDK. Now it is mature enough to announce it as Beta. This SDK allows developers to build Dual-Touch enabled applications. so let’s get into action.
Features:
Pinch to Zoom Support
Drag (swipe) support.
Replacement events for the mouse move fires only when a single finger detected.
Multiple events based on gestures.
Performance optimized, memory footprint is minimal.
To use this SDK you will need Visual Studio Professional or better. start a new Smart Device Project, and add the SDK to your references.
The SDK is consists of only one object, which is DualTouchSDK. We will need one instance of this class for every control that supports pinch to zoom or drag in your application.
There are several methods, properties and events that can be utilized in order to achieve multitouch effect. i have done my best to make this as easy as possible, my code is now complex but it is necessary to achieve easy implementation.
More info and download with documentation is available here
http://www.windowsphoneme.com/?p=386
great works, looking for further implementations
nice, i hope you keep developing this
Great job, thanks!
I wonder if anyone started using the sdk to build an application, can you post here if you did start
demo app
anaadoul: When You write it You must test it too .. so what is the problem to release some demo app showing the possibilities and features of this solution ? You have some test code so publish it ..
For me it's very strange that You already do not do this.

the only problem i have with the demo app is that i don't know how to create a hardware accelerated applications.
if i used the same old method (as the prealpha version), it's going to look slow and stuttery! while inface this has nothing to do with the SDK.
if you know how to build a hardware accelerated application please let's do it together.
I'm not sure i understand what do You mean " i don't know how to create a hardware accelerated applications", if that means You use a standard win mobile .net API ? if so please refer to this site.
IN THIS PLACE SHOUD BE LINK
damn i can't post links ... so please type it in google "khronos opengles 2"
for .Net wrapper, type in google
"Tiny Graphics Engine Tigre"
or
"koushik dutta net-compact-framework-wrapper"
I'm looking forward to this being implemented in games and such.
I'd love to see a screen unlocker that supports multi gestures "stretch to unlock" anyone?
I presume this only applies to HD2 as it has multi touch.

How did you work that out? HD2 wouldnt need this cos it already supports dual touch? Right?
hd2 has a capactive screen, thus meaning it alreasy has multi touch!
us people on resistive screens however are stuck on single touch only, until now (hopefully )
The funny thing is that this wont run on the HD2!
When you press 2 points on a resistive screen, apps get the middle of those points. And that fact is used for this emulated dualtouch.
When you press 2 points on the capacitive screen of the HD2 apps(without multitouch support) get no mousedown at all(at least on my HD2).

Thats why i said, I PRESUME. I am not sure, this is why I was asking.
I hope this project works Will be sooo happy
I'm not a programmer at all, but I'm curious from an electrcial standpoint, how the screen knows that your touching it at more than one point? I suppose with a normal resistive wire screen, you would get 3/4 minimum inputs, but with these "touchflo" screens..?
Just Curious.
Val
hi. Can anyone post one app made with this sdk so we can test it on our devices?
Thanks
Wow! I'm amazed at what I see everytime I get on XDA-Developers! I thought getting multi-touch on a resistive touch screen would be impossible! Excellent Work! People really need to start pumping out applications that can use this!
