Windows Media Player Music:
If you play music using the integrated WMP - power management will not work as expected - Display light will never turn off. Still the same if you press the home button during playback.
If you lock your device during playback, backlight will be dimmed but remains on.
--> Your battery will be empty very shortly if you use your device as MP3 Player.
Windows Media Player Video:
First - landscape registry key still works.
But if you play a video in fullscreen mode you can do this only for a few seconds before it switches back to normal skin mode.
--> You cannot really view any video on your device
Please, can anyone confirm this.
Are these known bugs for HTC which are be fixed in the final release?
Are there any workarounds?
I confirm this bugs, i have Wm6 HTC Test ROM to, and the WMP have this problems.
I use now the Audio Manager and Pocket Player software.
Regards
what about using TCPMP?
do you have the same problems with it?
It's a WMP player bug inside the current HTC pre-release of WM6.
TCPMP works like expected.
confirm bug, but the battery is not so terrible..
1.) Install RUU_Excalibur_HTC_RUS_1.24.411.1_4.1.13
2.) Change Language to US
3.) Do not dock your device
4.) Start WMP and play a song
--> Backlight never will turn off
5.) Press the HOME button
--> Backlight still remains on
6.) LOCK your device
--> Backlight will be dimmed
I can reconstruct this bug very easily on 3 devices following exactly the steps above. If this doesn't happens on your device please let us know what's different.

If I use my device as MP3 player and do not lock the device --> the battery will be empty in less than 2 hours. (Full backlight - always on)
If you lock it the battery will be empty in less than 5 hours (Backlight dimmed).
So from my point of view this is a terrible bug.
using audio manager saves the day
Audio Manager Bug.... when anounce names are kept on.. the ring for mobile rings for just 2-3 secs.....
announce names is what?

has anyone found a fix for this yet?
bug fix?
Anyone have a solution to the wmp backlight problem yet? I mainly use wmp because it allows me to use my stereo bluetooth headset buttons to control the music, and works best when making calls using ms voice command.
Hi! I was wondering if is there a way to make S2P the default music player so I will be able to control it with my bluetooth stereo set ( play ,pause... etc )
Thank you in advance !
Should be possible... in the FAQ of S2P it states:
How to get AVRCP works on Touch Diamond/Pro/HD?
Follow these steps:
- remove the Music tap from TouchFlo 3D with Diamond TF3D Config (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749 (thanks Sushilange);
- restart the device;
- turn on the Bluetooth & connect the BT Headset;
- (skip this step for v0.55 or later) start the Windows Media Player (sometimes it will be automatically started once the BT Headset is connected) & press the End key to minimize it;
- start S2P & enjoy
Thank you !
Today I decided to stream the BBC World Service radio via WMP. However it turns out that whenever the screen turns off the media stops. Any way to fix this.
i stream tv with sbp tv, the screen stays on
not sure how you can do that with wmp
from CodyBear's FAQ:
Keep Music Playing:
All you do is install this,
and then when you have music playing in any program,
tap the power button to put in suspend mode,
and you're good to go.
Download Cab Installer
Registry location:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\ Unattended\
Change Wav1 dword value to a "0"
When running the Spotify app, the active album / track is plumbed through the lock screen UI in the same manner as the inbuilt Zune module.
However if you pause a Spotify track for any length of time then it eventually disappears from the lock screen. Depending on what you do next you can easily crash the Spotify app.
By contrast you can suspend tracks initiated through the Zune indefinitely.
Anyone else noticed this behavior? Is this because the Mango API doesn't allow the same level of access to third party apps as it does to the inbuilt core MS Zune App?
Hi,
I've got some bluetooth devices with playback controls (play/pause, FF, REW). I listen to podcasts in an app called Podkicker Pro. It's nice in that FF, REW will skip ahead or back within the same podcast rather than skipping tracks like a regular audio player, and remember my position.
The problem is the Apollo music player is the one to always receive commands from the bluetooth device. Even if Apollo isn't loaded/playing anything any use of the bluetooth controls will cause it to load and steal focus. The only way I can reliably get the controls to work in Podkicker Pro is to disable Apollo from the apps settings. Of course if I want to play music I then need to re-enable it.
Is there any way (settings, apps, patches, takser rules) to specify which app will receive the bluetooth playback commands?
Thanks!
