Tilt 2 TF3D AT&T Curtain NOT Transparent? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I'm using the stock Tilt 2 ROM and the AT&T curtain is not a true transparency, but is several parallel black (dark gray?) lines (ScreenShot1.jpg).
I have a similar issue while looking through Contact details (ScreenShot2.jpg).
Does anyone else have this issue?
Thanks in advance!

there is a "no curtains" cab.
You will need to do a search.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen the No Curtains.cab around, but I was just wondering if the curtain is even displaying properly. The parallel lines (instead of transparency) seems extremely lazy, so I wanted to know if something's wrong w/TF3D or the Tilt 2. Same with the Contact Details.
Thanks again!

with the "no curtains" cab., you only see the icons - nothing else shows.

Yes, it is displaying properly. It's supposed to give a shaded look. If you don't like it then use the nocurtains cab that is floating around as has been mentioned.

OK, thanks for the clarification.

Sorry if its been answered before, but i have searched, as well as just browsed 1000 posts for hours, cant seem to find a solution. Thx in advance for any help!

Yah I know, I still love this phone over the G1, only thing I wish this phone had was more Ram and of course 3G... that would seal the deal on the phone if it had that...
Fonts worked great! Thanks alot. However i cannot figure out how to delete the CHome_Iconbar_background file. Cannot delete it on the phone, or from the computer. I tried to turn off the iconbar and then delete, and that still didnt seem to work.

Which ROM you using? Guessin Ricky since then it would make sense you can't delete it since it's in the ROM.
If not then turn off the media Top Bar restart then try and delete.
yep, rickys. anyone know if its possible to maybe just disable the background?
Well i found ONE background that would make the bar transparent! So looks good now, not exactly what i wanted, but not bad. Now once i figure out how everyone gets the weather apps integrated with clock/date tab ill be all set

Very interesting question, all i found so far is one for Symbian...

changing backround image -> too bright?

Hi there...
I just got mine and first thing I wanted to change was the background image.
1) disabled TouchFlo3D in settings->home>elements
2) tried to set background image
my problem: The background image appears very bright almost white, so i cant really see it and because it is so white i almost cant read any words...
Any suggestions?
Thanks
AO
any idea ? no one?
bump it up, baby
use the pic and video viewer and select the picture (you know hold your finger or stylus so it does the lil circle thing) then pick the set as today background option and it will let you set the transparency level it will only work with the standard WM screen (thats what i call the screen from the wing anyway) and not touch flo

Hey, you posted this same question on another thread in the Themes section. It's already been answered. Don't start multiple threads going forward please. It just makes a mess and it seems you can't even track all of them when they've been responded to.

Landscape wallpaper

Has anyone figured out a way to have a landscape wallpaper in TF3D 2.1 on ATT stock rom? Possibly even background on all tabs? I would really like this on my device! thanks
HDWall is what you need.

Ohyear is right, HDWalls is by far the best way to do that, especially on stock ROMs. If it's a little too complicated for you to want to get into, I can cab up whatever image you want, it's super-easy for stock ROMs...it just gets a little tricker for the cooked ones (I'm still trying to get a couple worked out for those...)
sirphunkee would you mind making me an all black wall paper?
I tried using HDwall along with HDwalls.
Went step by step but no luck at all.
I have a stock Rom from AT&T
I just want all the backgrounds to be black.
Thanks!

Btw, I highly suggest you play with HDWall until you get it correct. It'll be worth it when you find that this black wallpaper seems a bit boring...

This one should work, just run the cab on your phone, after switching off TF3D.
Make sure you've also selected "default wallpaper" in TF3D, and there's a registry value you need to clear if it shows up everywhere but the home screen.
Let me know how it works!
Side note, for anyone interested: I learned something interesting when building this cab...it seems that the process for converting the .png's to manila files is affected by the color depth/complexity of the image. Some images with a lot of color complexity can take several minutes to complete the algorithm, but this basic all-black image completed in like 4.5 seconds, if that. Interesting, if nothing else.
Ohyeahar,
Thanks so much for the cab.
I will play with HDwall but only to figure out what I did wrong.
Love the black and will never change it.
Thanks!
Sirphunkee,
Thanks to you also for building a cab
You guys are great!

Would you do me a favor, and test the cab I posted as well (if you haven't already), I want to make sure it works as expected. I think it will, but if not I'll ask ohyear what settings he used. Thanks!
Thanks guys! I'm off to check it out right now. Life caught up with me and I didn't have time to check back until now. Glad there was good news!
Sorry if this is a dumb question... but does the HDWall cab make it so you can set what your background will be like when turned to landscape? If not, what exactly does it do?
Thanks

Yup, it does that and more. You can select the wallpaper for landscape, and it can be the same or different than the one for portrait mode.
HDWalls will also let you crop the images in both orientations, and (for some versions of TF3D anyway) it will also let you package up the slider icons.
Once you choose and crop the images, and add slider icons (optional), HDWalls converts everything to the required Manila files, and then will even cab them up for install for you.
Once you know what settings you need, it's actually a piece of cake to use.
Is it able to put it on all tabs?

[Q] Sense 2.5 Clock Background and Taskbar Color

I've got to ask the dumbest question ever, but I've looked through all my settings and cannot figure it out. How do I change the background color of the clock and the task bar from the blue it is now (see attached) to black like the calender is? Sorry, but I just can't find the setting. Any help is appreciated!
I do have the new AT&T ROM with co0kie's Home Tab.

haven't heard of anyone doing that yet...with our settings...sounds like you would need a CAB to change those. I know there are some for the task bar that I have seen floating around.
Where did you get the ROM? ---> i just got the new official Rom
Is that the official leaked one?
Did you have to flash to install?
What's the Cookie's home tab?
Thanks

It's the official ROM off the HTC website. I've seen so many screens of the HTC Tilt 2 with the colors I want, I'm guessing that they may have been cooked ROMs. The Co0kie's Home Tab is the editor that allows for tons of customization of the home screen and options, it's great. Thanks for the reply and if you find out anything on how to change the colors, please let me know.
I Found It!!!
http://tp2.bfgreenberg.com/Sense25New.htm
You can change the home tabs and a lot of the other Icons!
I used these when I had TouchFlo3D on the original ROM, to add the sense, colored slider: Touch pro ones are here: http://tp2.bfgreenberg.com/tf3d.htm
The ones for us on the new Rom is the first link, for sense ui stuff.
Where did you get the Cookies Home Tab?
Thanks
Just Tried the Icon Package for this one, they look great! No more Black and white look!
Will try the slider bar next
I found a few more, that I am about to try, here's the link where I found them:

Couldn't get this Transparent Slider to Work...haven't tried the clock or curtains...
Noticed you don't have a Task Manager in your Task Bar at the Top Too.
This one is Great! Same thing we had in the Original Rom
Now we just need something to change the icons in Task Bar...add something with color!
This one will let us design our own slider with our icons of our choosing and set all the wallpapers to be the same...haven't tried this guy yet...but this looks better, just a little more work than just the transparent slider.

Thank You! I added this, happy to get some more quick link tabs!
I added the Icon Package and the Glass slider.
When I tried the Transparencies for the Quick Links...I tried versions C, BUT it caused the images for "Quick Link Contacts" to Disappear ... so i took it off, I haven't tried version A or B yet.
There are some glitches when uninstalling the Glass slider, since it is slightly to the right, you stalk slider becomes slightly to the right when you uninstall the Glass one.
Screen Shots show the Icon package...gives color to everything. Plus, in the 6th picture you can see what I mean by the slider being slightly to the right after uninstalling the Glass slider....a little annoying...will probably put the glass one back, I was just playing with different things, untill i have time to try HDWalls app...which looks a little more complicated.
Ok, Added the Transparent Slider Back in, and the App to remove the Blue background behind the clock.
First Pick is w/the Blue back ground and the others without it.
Slider is slightly too the right in All People and some of the other things, but not bad enough to cause any real issues.
I Installed the Transparent Quick Icons Version B, and it did the same exact thing as Version C, but keeps the icon Images for Contacts in Quick links, so issue solved.
Here are some shots to give you an idea.
Looks Great!
Wow, those look really good, Strange Shadow. I think I'm at the point where I've kinda got things where I want them, but now I must have that taskbar (love the colors and icons). Which taskbar was it? I tried one of the ones you posted, but I found several icons missing when I installed it, so I uninstalled it. I'll take some pics later today of what I've got now. I think the transparent or glass sliders did exactly what I wanted which was to get rid of the blue. Thanks again!
Latest Screen
So, here's what I've got so far. Was having some issues with the tabs on the slider having a blue shadow/background. But when I go into the contacts, it seems to disappear. Anyhow, I like your taskbar and icon packs, gotta give them a try.

I'm using tsowentaskbar6v3.1(lite).cab for the task bar (cab added to this post)
Haven't had any problems with it.
I went with the Version C for the Quick links, it gets rid of the shading around tabs and names, the photo issue I had earlier is gone now...I think I originally put them on in the wrong order, the slider is suppose to go last.
I noticed the same thing, with the blue patch after a soft reset, but I just go to contacts then all contact, then back to home screen and it goes away.
Now that I look, I am missing the Text Message Icon in this one, when I get a message, the original white message box appears...hmm....that's the only one I have noticed so fare...I might try a few more within the next couple of days.
I also noticed that the reception bars are not showing, when nothing is going on, I just have the earth with one tiny bar, but when making a phone call, they appear with the phone icon, I am going to try v6.2.1 and see if it changes anything
BTW, I have been installing these on my strage card, to save device space, not sure if this is the reason for any of this, I will try on the device too, some time later
Gonna give that taskbar a try and let you know how it works for me. I'm so much of a noob that if I have to change anything in the registry or something along those lines, I'm done with it. If it's not a cab file that self-installs, I won't risk screwing something up. I'd like to sit down and learn hands-on, but don't know anyone in my area. Thanks again.

Yeah, I'm the same way, if it's not an easy Cab install/uninstall I'm usually not too interested. I prefer the easy cab install to make sure nothing gets messed up.
I would do more if someone could show me a step by step, and show that it worked fine with their 'personal" phone without ruining anything.
Good luck, I tried 6v.2.1...it has the same issue, keeps the old wm text message, and doesn't show the signal strength...I'll try installing them on the internal memory...see if that makes any difference...which I doubt will...
Further down his page there is one for Wm6.5... I tried it, and was SOOOOOo excited when I found that the Signal Strength option Finally Worked!
But...the Speaker indicating sound/vibrate/silent is completely gone...
DUDE! I FOUND ONE! w/the signal actually working!!! lol
So fare the only thing I noticed is that the Text Message Icon is still the old white Bubble, but the Signal is working and the battery looks great!
Here it is: CAB
Just found another annoyance, the Volume Controls are changed a bit now, when you press the up/down side volume hard buttons, the image is slightly different, the bars indicating the Volume are now 3/4 the length of the original, with the first 1/4 no longer existing
Task manager and red X over lap sometimes too...but not a huge deal.
Screen Shots...nvm in my room, I can barely get two bars lol

Notification Button Help

Hello All.
I need a little assistance please. I'm using Mr.Puffin's white notification bar for the latest Froyo update. I successfully hacked it and added by own transparent background by tweaking framework-res.apk and services.jar.
However one item remains and that is the button which appears in the notification bar (see attached) It has black text on a black background. I would like to change the background image for this button and I have no idea what the name is or where it resides. I've looked in the drawable-hdpi folder and can't make heads or tails of of this.
Would someone please be kind enough to advise me on how to change this button background image.
Many thanks!

This is something I did on the Hero back in the day, and at the time, was not an easy thing to pull off, at least not for something you would assume is pretty straightforward.
Though the procedure for the EVO is a bit different, the concept is similar for pulling the hack off.
By all reasonable expectations, if you look at the status bar XML, you would assume the button being used, per the XML is:
btn_default_normal.9.png
But, in looking at the image, it is a white button, not the default black button we see (same as with the Hero post referenced above), so, just as in the Hero, it is clear that the XML is being overridden via Java code. Why they do this I have no idea, but this is indeed the case.
The other issue is, this is using common / shared framework buttons, so you can't / probably shouldn't go and modify the button, as you'll end up breaking the display elsewhere throughout Android, where the font will no longer show up given a color change that hides the font color elsewhere, i.e. white text on white button.
Digging through the smali code you can see that instead, the buttons being used are in com.htc.resources.apk, such as:
common_b_button_small_rest
common_b_button_small_press
common_b_button_small_selected
Again, though, as mentioned, it would be a mistake to recolor these buttons to be white, for example, as this will break button text display all throughout your phone, so you will want to modify the smali code to point back the original images in framework-res, rather than those referenced above in com.htc.resources.
