[Problem] WM6.5 Titanium "Pictures" tab - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

I am trying to specify the path to where my photos are "\internal storage\my documents\my pictures" however the titanium pictures menu points to the phone storage and NOT the 4GB.
Does anyone know a way to change this? I've used the advanceconfig software to change the default location to the 4GB but this had no effect.
Thanks in advance!

I dont like this solution but it works:
Move the My Pictures folder to the root of the Internal Storage and call it pictures

So, the next issue is, how do I get the default storage location for the camera changed to the new pictures folder ? ?

Thanks, but I tried already and the camera still saves in the default /internalstorage/my documents/my pictures/ folder...
I think I am doing that correct - I changed the "default location for pictures..."

@diselboy:
Have you changed ( Camera / Save Location ) with ( location for pictures ) and soft - reset ?

Hey, thanks for your help.
Under the advance-config software / Camera, it only gives me the option to select either;
1. My Pictures
2. DCIM (default)
I've tried both with the location "Default location for image files" set to the new folder of \internalstorage\Pictures
I've no idea what else to change. I even looked through the registry and had no luck there either
Ideally, I would prefer the titanium today screen to show the photos from My Documents/Pictures...

How to change camera folder in WM6?

Hi there,Evertime I take a picture, my hermes always save the picture to
\Storage Card\My Doctments\
If I would like to specified the destination folder to
\Storage Card\My Doctments\My Pictures
What should I do?
I edited my registry settings under
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\image\SaveFolder_0804
or
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\image\P1\SaveFolder
but it was no use.
I'm not having that issue. My pics are saved to Storage Card/My Documents/My Pictures with no problem. That's weird.
hmm, interresting, never had this before... try remove card from phone, run camera application, insert card and wait for message window with yes/no choice - uif you want to save your newly taken images to card insted of phone memory. Before that remove My Documents folder on card. Hope it help.

bumpety-bump
I had something like that here. It says if i want to save do storage card, but it still saves in the main memory. I just can't save to storage card, even if i say "yes" to the option "save in the memory card". Any answer for it?
This worked for me;
Hi, I had almost the same problem as described.
This is how i solved my issue:
1. Download MyMobiler (w/ MExplorer.exe) to do this a lot easier with touch mobiles.
2. Download Advanced Configuration Tool v.3.3 to change the directing folder to DCIM (default), just to be sure...
3. Download PHM RegEdit to tweak Windows Mobile Registry.
4. Use Advanced Configuration Tool v.3.3. Go to the Camera section and change "Save location:" to "DCIM (default)". It might already be correct. But just to make sure it is not wrong set.
5. Use PHM RegEdit to change all the "SaveFolder"-keys under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\...
The following Registry folders contain save paths:
Image, P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, P8, P9, P10, Video
The "Image" folder contains two keys with languagecodes. The codes are in hexadecimal.
GpsSaveFolder_<languagecode> (languagecode = 0809 hex for English UK)
SaveFolder_<languagecode>
In all the keys you should change the value to your preferred destination. For instance this value was my choice:
\Storage Card\DCIM\100MEDIA\
Remember the backslashes! With MyMobiler it is easy to copy and paste the value fast and simple throughout the Registry keys... In case you are not sure which folderpath you should use. Use the MExplorer.exe that followed the MYMobiler app. On the right-pane you can browse the mobile just how it looks like for Windows Mobile OS. Theres no drive destinations...
Local memory could be like:
\My Documents\DCIM\100MEDIA\
6. Now for the keydifference that did the trick; Softreset your phone. When WM is up and running, take out the memorycard and start Camera app. Insert memorycard again. You might have to do it a couple of times before it works. But it worked for me in the end. Thanks to all tips and tricks!

WM 6.1 - changing settings for Pictures/Music to SD Card?

How do you make the photos and Music settings to always look at the SD card path? right now photos are blank and I have to pic folders and go to the SD folders manually.
thanks!
This has been a topic discussed several times. It has to do with the chome.dll file stored in the /windows directory. For some reason it only maps to the /my documents/my pictures and the storage card/pictures folders (called storage card/DCIM). So the only work around, although a poor one, is to create a folder in the main root of your storage called "pictures" ( and not "my pictures") . Then place your pics there and they will show up on the sliding panel on your home screen. You will also be able to acces them from there. The only thing this will not do is send all of the pics you've taken from your camera to that directory. It will still put them in /storage card/my pictures (assuming you are using your storage card for puting your photos to) so you will still have to manually move those pics to the /storage card/pictures directory when you finish taking the pics.
Wow it's amazing what one can stumble upon when they are not looking. I had the same problem just never really searched out the issue. I tried what you suggested and works like a charm! Thanks pudgedaddy!
You can also create a folder called "DCIM" and it will detect the pictures on there as well.

Camera Counter

Hey Guys..
I have a problem with my HTC TP2.. it's got troubles saving my photo's to the Memory Card..
After i flashed my phone the IMAGXXXX counter has reset itself to 0
When i make a photo that would be then named IMAG0001 it overwrites the other IMAG0001 i made before i flashed my ROM..
Does somebody know how to preset the counter so that it doesn't overwrite all of my photo's?
Thanks!!
What I do as a work-around is to have the date&time as the filename prefix. Unfortunately, for some reason, HTC doesn't allow you to do this by default.
You have to use the Advanced Config tool and do the following:
1. Set the camera to save files to "My Pictures" rather than "DCIM"
2. Set the default path for images to "sd card\my documents\my pictures"
After a soft reset, go into your camera app's settings. You should now be able to adjust the "prefix" setting.
and after that.. will my pictures be saved to my SDcard again?

Yes, as long as your camera app settings point to "storage card" as the save location, your pics will be saved in your "my documents/my pictures" folder in your SD card.

[Q] How to clear timeline in my files app?

Is it possible to clear timeline in stock My file app? I have tried to select a file and delete by tapping bin icon, but this deleted that file also from original folder.
Also looking for a solution, let me know if you find out if its possible
I also would like to know
Is there a solution yet?

I've been looking for a way to clear or disable the Timeline myself with no success. Perhaps Timeline items go away only when you move the files off the device(?)...
Unfortunately the "My Files" "Timeline" content is actually controlled by another process called "Media Storage" (this process scans all the files on the device looking for pictures, music, and other content then it builds a database so the system or apps such as music players can quickly find the content, it usually runs on boot-up and can update occasionally.
The only way to clear (or temporary clear) the timeline content is to clear the "Media Storage" database, by clicking "Force stop" and "Clear data" on the Media Storage process, though if you do this it will just rescan again eventually, and if you turn it off or prevent it from scanning you can loose access to your ringtones / alarms and other system sounds , also any music files on the device as a lot of applications use this service (otherwise everything would need to scan the memory card ./ memory for files causing increased cpu overhead and device lags....)...
See screenshots.
Thanks a ton, otyg! It's not an ideal solution, but it's better than nothing. I mostly wanted to clear the Timeline data and start it over, and this does seems to do that.
Figured it out
Plug tablet into the computer. Rename the folder that you don't want showing up with a '.' in front of it. I.e. "Adult" to ".Adult".
Then install Astro File manager, change the settings so that you can view hidden folders. And then you can still access the folder from the tablet, but will not show up in Timeline or the stock file manager.

you might also be-able to add a .nomedia file to the folder too this is supposed to prevent the media scanner from scanning the folder contents, though it doesn't work on all devices and I haven't tested it with timeline. or samsung yet., thought I would throw it out there if anyone wants to test.
At this time it's still unclear if you can hide items or completely remove the from the recent items list, with out moving every little file and or download and the list will only repopulate as you continue to download or add files. Just tap the added date above each subsection and collapse each individual section. While this isn't a permanent fix and the list will repopulate once you reopen the My Files app, it's only a minor inconvenience for someone who uses the app occasionally.
I've got files stored under sd card, folder, folder, .folder, folder, photo media scanner use to not see it and doesn't see it on my s5 but my tab 4 sees them if I click don't show hidden files it don't

Yes i did turn on the setting.
Tried deleting the file you mention and no difference.
My girlfriend note 20 ultra is also having the same issue.
edit: I just did a reinstall of the second whatsapp. I can now see the folder in gallery but when looking inside file manager, there is no folder for whatsapp images.
Looking wired to me....
Try this...
If you are using Google photos as your default gallery app, then there are chances that your WhatsApp images will show in your Google Photos app if you used the ‘delete local copy’ or the ‘free up device storage.’ Therefore, check Google photos to view your WhatsApp images.
Else clear Cache & data from WhatsApp from the list of applications in Manage Apps
it will surely help you
