This should do it.
Install and soft reset.

Thanks. while I was looking around i found a setting in the Adv Config cab. Will be installing that shortly and if that doesnt work I can come back here for this one.
why does everyone say that their screen doesn't light up when the get an SMS? Is Tmobile the only carrier that kept this feature in, because mine lights up every time.
i have sprint model and i cant get it 2 stop lighting up....
Well, advance config didn't do it.
Neither did manually resetting the registry value.
Guess I will try that cab
Edit: I got the adjusted reg value to stick after a few times. Wake up on SMS now working.
ive got verizons tp2 and it always wakes up on new sms
For those of you that don't want it to wake, here's the reverse of the cab I posted earlier.

This still isn't working for me. My carrier is Telus if it matters. Even with that 2nd cab installed, it still wakes up when an SMS arrives. Oddly, I think it disabled the sound though.

Edited an old cab to remove the version limits. It now works on Wm6.
Install and then dial a number from the standard phone dial pad to test! You should feel a short vibrate when you tap a number button letting you know that it's been tapped.
Add it to your CAB file collection.

What exactly does this do, with Phone Pad? Sounds interesting
It vibrates shortly each time, you press number in dial pad... or I guess, coz it did not work on my TyTN
but mayby is problem with some SPB products, because I have lot of them installed in my TyTN... e.g. phone suite, which can manipulate automatically with sound, vibration and light according to profile settings...
YUP! When you go to the dial screen and tap a number a small vibrate lets you know that a button has been pressed.
I'm also using bunches of SPB programs, but I still get the Vibrate from the standard dial screen.

It works on my Hermes but you have to long-press the key. Press for at least a half second to get the vibrate motor spinning.
Also, be sure to set either "short" or "long" tones in the phone options. It won't do anything if set to "none."
Hey thanks for converting to WM6 I had been missing it for awhile now!
Any chance this will work in WM5? Please and thanks.
Yeah this is soooooooooooo useful tip man, thanks a lot !!^^
Uninstall Issues...
I liked the idea, just didn't like the fact that you have to push the button for so long to get hte vibrate to react, just a fraction longer and it turns into a speed dial. So let's talk about the uninstall....
I unstalled the app, everything went normal. Now I have no keypadd tones at all.
hshortt, can you provide a fix or provide the registry keys that this install/uninstall modified?
EDIT: Nevermind, fixed on my own...
Works with the HTC Touch / Vouge. Just had to do a soft reset twice. For some reason after the first time, the touch screen stopped responding.
I'd like to know what you did to get your keyapd tones back, this program sucks!!!

guys i have tried the solution in the above link, it didnt work out.
if i exported the registry files from a non screwd device, and exported to my mine... will it work out?
This program is not very effective, cause when I tap out a phone number naturally I tap it quickly, and you have to hold for at least 300ms (I reckon) for it to even do a little vibrate.
it somehow needs to be much more sensitive, lower ms or something. Maybe its a limitation of the whole vibrate mechanism in the phone anyway.
Oh well.
Lost All Sounds
after installing i lost all sound output from my back speaker
no music, no ringtones, nothing
it only made my phone pad vibrate but screwed up all other sound output
tried to uninstall & still no fix
also hard reset & gflashing ROM again didnt fix
did it screw up my device completely !!!!!!!!!!
any fix please???
Vibrate dial pad
Thank you ! This is just what I was looking for
Sorry.Didn't find how to delete message
Hi pretty neat program, until I found a better one TouchResponse... This one allows you to even select the vibration time, and it vibrates on every tap on your touch screen. Well the problem is I un-installed Phone Pad Vibrate and now the the sound is gone when I press a phone number. The link for the fix isn't working, so how do I fix it so I can get the sound back???
Did the link for removal instructions get moved/removed for this?
The link from above is still broken. Anyone have instructions on how to remove this app?
could someone upload it on rapidshare, because i canĀ“t load it, thank you
I have upgraded my Hermes to WM6 and wanted to start locking the keypad.
The built in Device lock is fine, however I want this to automatically lock the device after 5 minutes.
I know there is a more advanced lock that can be activated after a period of time but I don't want to enter a 4 digit pin.
Are there any custom apps out there capable of performing this task?
Thanks
Mark
You could try the "Slide 2 Unlock" app posted >HERE<. That looks like it'll do what you're after.....
HTH,
Mark.
phoneAlarm
Ok, tried this app and like it... but...
I believe I have found a issue with this application when using phoneAlarm on my Hermes WM6..
I currently have phoneAlarm configured to alert me 30 times when I have a text message or missed call. This will continue to alert me until it has done it 30 times or I hav read the text etc..
What I have found since installing Slide2Unlock is that I don't get ANY alerts now.
Is there a registry setting that will get around this problem or is it a restrictions in the application?
Thanks
Mark
Voicemail Indicator...
Is there a registry setting that allows you to turn on a voicemail indicator on the screen? That would be a nice addition.
By the way, this is a coooool app! Thanks for the effort and bring this to the masses.

Once you get a voicemail, the indicator comes on. If you don't have any voicemails (and texts or e-mails for that matter), then no icon shows up.

Not sure if this is applicable, but I had a problem with Voice Command not waking up when I pressed my bluetooth with this app. I found that by disabling the autosuspend since I had it set to come on automatically when the phone goes into hibernation (set through the battery options), it would work again.
ie: Autostart=1
BlankScreen=1
IdleStart=0

Tested this out last night by calling myself and leaving a voicemail. The only indicators on the IPhone-esque screen were 'text msg' and 'missed calls' counts. Maybe I don't have something configured properly.
thx
More than half the time I take my phone out of it's case in my pocket to check texts or call somebody, it's always on and eating battery. Alot of the time I have the phone in vibrate or silent because I can't have it going off most of the day, and whenever I get any kind of notification the screen comes on (text, alarm, call, ect.), and then the screen ends up staying on because it's constantly being bumped and never has the time to shut itself down.
Is there any way I can make the screen stay off at ALL times (except on an incoming call), and ONLY come on when I press the unlock/power button on the top of the phone?
I have a TMobile TP2 and I'm running the Nov. 19th, Photon Energy ROM. Upgrading to the Nov. 27th version when it's done downloading but I don't think that will fix the problem as I've changed ROMs before. Thanks to any help.
you will find that when in the case it should be off, on taking the phone out of the case (i assume the HTC one that came with the phone?)
the magnet in the case triggers the keyboard sensor which turns the screen on.
otherwise, you can change the display time out in power options under settings.
Cheers
Steve
That's interesting, I've heard about the case doing that but never thought about it. Would you recommend any cheap cases, or is there a specific magnet location I should be careful of? And do you know if there is a way to keep the screen off when I get a text message for example?
There is a way to fix this... it is to disable "Wake on Slide." I have done this and no more problems.
Here is a link to what to do:

Hope it helps you, as it did me.
Thanks for the reply and I appreciate the help, but I don't really have a problem with the wake on keyboard slide, it seems that if the phone is in my pocket locked, and I get a text message, the screen comes on to notify me that I have a text message. Then, it's usually being bumped around in my pocket and since the touch screen is usable with any object, it will stay on because something will tap it in my pocket. The phone then heats up over time and drains battery. I want to find a way to keep the screen off at all times unless, I either receive a call, or push the power button. Thanks.

Try:
go to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
change DisableSMSWakeUpEvent to 1 (0 will wake up the device)
On my Rhodium, it does not wake up by default. I hear the notification, but my screen remains dark
Or try this cab file ... soft reset after install
Thanks for the .cab, I'm restarting now to see if it fixes the problem. Kind of random, but I might as well ask here before starting a new thread. I started using Mobile Shell instead of TF3D and so far I love it, but when setting a wallpaper, the wallpapers that I would normally use in TF3D, (480x800), it makes me select or crop out part of the photo to use as a background in Mobile Shell. I can't tell if it actually gets blurry (I would think so, because it's stretching the picture), but does anyone know why it wants me to only use a certain portion of the background instead of just setting the entire picture? Thanks,
More than likely, the version of Mobile Shell you have is either not designed for WVGA or there is a setting somewhere in there that allows you to change it and you haven't found it yet.
Am not a expert on mobile Shell, but according to their website, the latest version (3.5) does support WVGA.
Another option is to, if you have Adobe Photo shop or something similar, scale down the entire picture to the size it reccomends.
Otherwise, if you have a version earlier then 3.5, maybe you could upgrade and see if it makes any difference.
One thing I really liked about my T2 out of the box was the fact that receiving a text message did NOT wake up the phone.
All of the sudden, it is waking up with every text. I checked to make sure that somehow DisableSMSWakeupEvent hadn't been changed to '0', but it is still set to '1'. Did a soft reset, rechecked the registry value (it's still set to '1')but the phone continues to wake up with every text. I also checked in event notifications to make sure I hadn't inadvertently checked the 'Display message on screen' box.
I had installed Advanced Configuration Tool a few days ago, but uninstalled it the next day after only checking out the options and didn't change anything with it. My only other recently installed software is SPB Time, but it's been in place for more than two weeks so I don't think that's doing it. And I'm *still* using the stock AT&T rom.
What gives? I don't want my phone to wake up when I receive a text!
I only fixed this when I used advance config to tell it to wake up on text, softreset, don't wake up on text, soft reset, and then it finally worked how I wanted it.
try deleting the string and then recreating the dword string. and then soft resetting.

It will still vibrate, beep etc, just not turn on the screen until you press the button.
Mine is doing the same. I agree with the OP
Why?
Because my phone lives in my pocket, and when I'm seeing patients or have my hand somewhere you probably don't wanna know about, I can't check every text as it comes in. If the screen turns on in my pocket, then I begin pocket dialing or other bad things. And THAT'S why I con't want my phone to light up when I get a text.
Besides, I have the LED set to flash with new message notification, as well as to vibe so I'll know I just got a text.
The good news is that after the problem has suddenly disappeared just as suddenly as it appeared. Guess I must have bowed down properly to the phone gods in my sleep last night...
You could try using S2U2...
That way you won't start 'pocket dialing'.

I do want my Tilt to wake up with every text and it isn't. I am new to this, can you tell me how to make this change?
If I am reading on my phone and a call comes in I don't get any visual popup to answer or decline. The phone rings but I have to pull down the notification bar in order to answer.
I usually keep do not disturb on at all times with only favorites allowed through so don't know if it's the problem or something else is.
For example, if one of my kids calls I hear it ring but I have to search/ take extra steps in order to answer the call.
This only seems to happen with the screen on. I believe it works fine when screen is off.
How do I fix this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. I actually already had that setting checked.
I ended up finding another setting that seems to have fixed it. Can't remember where I found it but as long as it's working........
Glad you found it, had the same problem and I think I found the setting you did. For anyone else with this problem, in the Do Not Disturb setting, under Hide Notifications, there are settings that can be toggled for both screen on and screen off situations. Adjusting these should fix the issues.
Cheers,
