Hey!
I flashed myphone with different versions of wm 6.5, but i'm encountering problems every time. Each time I boot in one of these roms, I can, after some "hick-ups" of the phone, enter my password. Then, the OS would load the "desktop", but it's empty, besides 2 very small icons in the upper left. But, I cannot click them, and I cannot click the start menu button. The only things I CAN click are calendar and contacts, but my contacts are empty (doesn't seem to load sim contacts). So, I can't do anything,...
I have got a Trin100, vodafone compact GPS. I first installed Olipro 1.20 and radio 1.56. I didn't unlock, coz I don't really know what for, as I'm using a vodafone SIM and the flashing to the new roms (kinda) worked.
I tried the German ROM and some "super light" rom and some other, but it wouldn't work without these or similar issues.
I hope someone can help me.
Akum
Edit: Correction: Wow, now, nothing works anymore. I even installed a WM 6.1 now and, like the previous 6.5 version, it doesn't boot at all anymore. The bootscreen comes up, but it wouldn't continues from there. What can I do now?
Press at the same time
- Power (upper right) + Camera (lower right) + press with stylus small reset button (hole) at the bottom
Does display changes into tree-color screen? If it does pick a favorite ROM and flash device with it like you would do it while it was connected by ActiveSync.
Remove all memory cards before this operation. You can leave SIM card in. All your data on the phone will be lost (phonebook and stuff). After successful flashing press upper soft keys (above WIN and OK button) and press reset button (hole) at the bottom with stylus. If new screen pop-up press Send (green phone button) and than OK. This will reset device to factory settings.
Thanks for the answer, but I should explain my problem more precisely I think.
I can always enter the boot loader menu (thank god!), the problem is, that no matter what rom I use it always comes down to...nothing. It is either stuck in the booting process or I can't really use any programs like described above.
The only rom that works is the factory default rom from vodafone. That is kind of confusing....any idea what could be the reason for that?
here try this one ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494727
I've used it longer than any other ROM that I've flashed and it worked flawlessly until I decided to go for 6.5. Just decide what clock do you need: digital or analog.
It is also recommended to disable tabs that are not used with this app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392
download cab and install it. Have fun
Sweetness!
I figured out what the problem was: Oliopro 1.20, after installing aliorpo 1.30 all the roms work fine now!
The link you gave me took me to the developer's site who recommended installing 1.30, so I did and voila! Running the German WM6.5 now ;D very nice, a lil slow, but with finger keyboard ^^ yay
Thanks!

Have you try again hard reseting your device? if that doesnt help try reflashing!
hey
yes ive tried hard reseting always goes back to this screen once you press 0
dont mean to sound dumb buts whats relashing?
Reflashing
Reflashing is re loeading the ROM to your phone, you can do this by entering bootloader, hold the power, backlight and press reset, and it will load into bootloader. then rerun the .exe that you got from your provider
I am not sure but it seams you have the same issue like the guy here

Are you guys sure that the ROM that you have downloaded "good"
thanks for replys guys

almost tried every possible thing that came on my way but no luck.
please help me
i FOUND A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM I HAVE SUCCESFULLY COMEOUT OF IT HOPE U GUYS TOO CAN MAKE USE OF THIS METHOD, ALL CREDIT GOES TO scousegitt.
Put the device into bootloader by pressing and holding the backlight key, power key and reset button at the same time for 3 seconds. If you see serial in the display, hook it up to the PC. The display will change to read usb. Windows will whinge and ***** that the usb device is not recognised, ignore this, it is normal. Take this opportunity to flash a decent ROM, not the crap standard ones. If you do want to use a standard ROM, download them from the FTP. I have downloaded corrupt ROMs from O2 in the past.

my set now per-loaded wm6, mine is t-mobile MDA pro,may i flash back to wm5 with dopod 900 official roms?
anyone can give me ans, very thanks a lot....
I have O2's standard WM6 Rom on my XDA Orbit (with SDHC support installed by cab for my 4gb card) and, after performing a backup, I performed a hard reset in preparation for the install of the new Black & Blue V5 rom. However, it now sits on the boot up screen (see pic). It does this with or without the memory card installed and I have performed further normal and hard resets to no avail - it always sits at this point and goes no further. I left it for 30 minutes so I think it's safe to say there is a problem with it.
Any advice on how to resolve?
Thanks in advance.

have you installed the rom using the uspl file? if not, you have bricked your phone and there is no way to unbrick it yourself.
I haven't installed a Rom as of yet but I have installed USPL previously as I haven't always had the O2 Rom on this device. I had the Touch Vanilla on it at one point.
No, what has happened here is at the result of nothing more than a hard reset.
Any advice?
try 2 remove battery and insert back. try to do HR again
can U enter bootloader? if yes, download wm6 ROM again(o2 original) and follow instruction from wiki (How to flash using SD card)
can you get it to boot loader mode?

Yes, I can get into bootloader but my card is a 4gb and won't work by default as far as I know. Is there any way of doing it by USB? I have my cable connected with the bootloader screen on but it isn't doing anything and when I test it with USPL, it comes back with no device connected.
EDIT - ignore, just seen it can be done. Cheers for the replies all.
remove card at first, then enter btloader, and run Flash(o2 ship). dont do USPL directly - needs 2 install some certifikates before flashing.
Installed B&B V5 on it using bootloader and everything works fine now. Just a few issues with a few things on the restore using Sprite (caused by the differences between WM6 and WM6.1 I suspect) but nothing that couldn't be overcome easily enough.
Cheers for the replies everyone.
Hello everyone,
I am looking for help for my WS003SH. I did a hard reset yesterday after I was suddenly unable to browse anything on the device - only on the miniSD card.
So I did what some member here explained - hold the Reset button for 15 sec., then press Fn+F+PWR.
So when I started it it was all in Japanese but the Start button and clock and battery indicator etc were missing and the device Windows button doesn't work. The screen is not responding properly, only the keys work; the camera won't start either. So I don't know what to do.
I tried adding the Start Menu and Startup folders via ActiveSync but this idn't help either.
I am thinking of reflashing Windows but unsure about it all. Any help would be most apprecated!

Thanks! Problem has been sorted (with your help of course).
It appears I did not properly do the hard reset - the instructions given by SOLIDGOD at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=378883 were not exactly correct.
So, for anyone who might need to do a hard reset, here's how to:
1. Open back cover,
2. Remove battery - not entirely, just the connectors,
3. Press reset button,
2. Place battery back - DO NOT release reset button,
3. Hold reset button for 15 seconds,
4. Power up device -- no need to press Fn+F+PWR -- just the Power button.
In order to properly hard reset your device, whatever make it is, it needs power, which you don't have if you take out the battery. Which was what caused my problem with the missing Start menu.
So, enjoy!
Hi cheeseus
I encountered the exactly same problem as you did, and I followed your instructions step by step, but it didn't help. The start menu is still not there, Can you tell me how you solved this in detail? Thank you very much!
Problem solved with the help of Cheeseus, forgot to mention it here.
When I hold the power button and then touch the turn off option I am unable to hit "ok" or "cancel" on the final confirmation screen before turning off the phone. Most of the time both options are completely unresponsive to touch although the back button does work to get out of the power down process. I have had success a few times if I start from power down process from the browser as opposed to the home screen. I searched and couldn't find anything on this. Any help?
This is the screen I'm having trouble with:

Update: It won't even work for me when I start from my browser now. This is isn't the only menu I'm having issues with either. For instance, I can't select "edit" from ##data# either, only view.
I want to say this happened somewhere in the process of running the ruu on my pc to go back to stock from aloysius and then re-rooting and loading the flipz stocker. All of that, of course, was an attempt to fix my rooted 4g issues. But I can't even complete all those steps since the ##data# menu is "broken". I'm definitely frustrated.
run the RUU again, if youre still having screen issues try and get it replaced, it might be a hardware problem.
Just finished with ruu again and 4G is fixed but the screen issues remain. Yeah, I'm guessing hardware now too...just a funny coincidence with what I was doing yesterday. Now I'm faced with:
1) replace and forget about root for a while- too many issues!
2) return/cancel/droidx
every phone will have its issues, refering to the droidx, it sucks you had so many issues with rooting your phone. not to throw it in your face or anything, but there are plenty of us who have rooted phones and are quite content, give it another go if you'd like, plenty of help here.
Yeah it does sound like my issue is truly unique.
Anyone have or hear of something like this?
Some more info:
I tried to reset my now stock phone through setting>privacy. The "Reset phone" button is unresponsive so I can't do that either. I pulled the battery and then turned it on holding down the volume down button and then got into the stock recovery. I selected the factory reset from there and while the phone reset the first message that flashed while it was going through the process was:
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command
Does that mean anything to anyone?
Posting from my new build 3 EVO. Best Buy exchanged for me after work, no questions asked. In fact, they didn't even look at my old EVO.
Hello everyone.
I have a really wierd problem with defy's buttons (menu, home, back, search). They stoped working at all.
So for a couple months I have been having strange problems with the buttons. It looked like home button was pushed and app drawer was opening/closing really fast. Reset has helped, but temporary.
And about a week ago the buttons stoped working at all. I tried to flash another ROM (official 2.2), but it didn't help.
And now I don't know what to do. I goggled it, but there is no information about such problem.
If somebody can give an advice, please let me know.
Thanks.
Nobody ? That's sad. XDA was my last hope) Well, I guess I will sell it for parts.
try doing an sbf. if that doesn't work, then there is hardware issue.
edit: dont know if you already did..since you said you flashed an official 2.2 rom..
Don't know if this will work but it won't hurt to try

Download the files and android commander search it up. It's easier than manually using adb commands.
Connect your phone to pc and make sure usb debugging is on
In android commander navigate to system/usr/layout
Then click on push on the toolbar in android commander
Select the files you downloaded then right click on each file that you just added then click on properties
make sure each one looks like this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

Maybe this will fix your buttons?
from http://android.site666.info/indextricks.htm :
home key, search button, security lock, power button options: repair them
Some phones do strange things at random: your home and search buttons stop working, your security lock won't load (leaving your data wide open), and if you hit the power button then reboot is your only option, because silent mode and flight mode are missing from the list.
There's nothing wrong with the buttons on your phone, but there's something wrong with the software that controls them.
• Fix: backup your apps and data, reset your phone to factory settings, restore your backups.
Make sure you have a full backup or two and check that the backups work before resetting your phone.
