Hi
Is there any way to lock the volume control ?
I often find I adjust the volume control when using the HD and often even mute it without noticing, resulting in missed alarms etc.
The perfect setup would be so that the only place I can change the colume control is within a call. When the call is over the volume control should go back to what it was before and lock it.
Any apps that can do something similary to this ?
Thanks in advance....

Is there a programme available to lock the volume buttons. I also hit them accidentally and sometimes completely turn off the volume and miss calls.
Can anyone help us on this one?

1 + here to.
I find it strange that you always can change the volume. It should only be in one place. Changing the volume on talk you should be able to do during a call.
But you should not be able to mute the volume by misstake in for example in your pocket.
Strange...

Any programs out there that will allow you to adjust the call volume using the up and down nav. I notice these buttons don't do anything during the calls now. why not remap them so they adjust volume?
Anyone know of a hack that will do this. That touch strip is the stupidest idea ever. I cannot believe people agreed to having that thing on the phone.

Yup, I downloaded and tried that app but the issue is you have to upen an application, choose the volume, click ok, wait 3 seconds, then it is applied, then you gotta close it.
I really want to know if there s a way to map the up and down so I press up, and the volume goes up a notch during a call.
I hate the jogger, but it is simpler than that application
I thought I saw an app somewhere that would let you change the behaviour of the Volume Buttons so that pressing volume down would lower ALL volume types (and not exclude alarms/music).
I don't want an app with an onscreen widget or anything as I like to adjust volumes without unlocking the phone, or even looking at it (easy to adjust volume while in pocket etc..)
The default behaviour of the Samsung S3 is that it reduces/raises all volumes EXCEPT alarms and music, which I can understand for some people, but if I put my phone in vibrate via volume... i do NOT expect to hear a peep from it.
Anyone seen a hack or an app that will do this?
Is anyone else genuinely annoyed with the fact there is no volume lock option on this device? When I want to lower the volume with the rocker on say the lock screen, only the ringer volume goes down, and I have to click the gear icon to manually adjust the volume for the notificatons/media/etc.
I know there are manual volume profile apps/widgets out there, but maybe I'm just old school and want to use the rocker to adjust my volume down for all possible audio output at once.
Any workarounds known out there?
I miss something like the iphone silent switch but it's something we just have to get use to. Simple sound widget seems to do nicely. I just pull down notification bar click it and chose from custom profiles.

i am not here much as i am not a super programer but is there any way to make one volume that adjusts all volumes on the note 2. my previous androids had a selection that let me combine all my volumes. It just seems to be a pain in the ass to keep having to open my volume controls and adjust each one seperately everytime i go into a meeting or movie or whatever. I know this seems stupid but any help would be awesome
i don't think it's possible because they are multi file inside the rom for each volume
this is my opinion so..............i'm not 100% this is the best answer

It is assumed that the volume buttons perform this function? At least for me when using the volume down button, you reduce the overall volume for notifications, media, ringer, etc.
However, maybe I misunderstood his request.

yes is there any way where volume button controls all volumes at once without opening my settings?
Anyone know of an app or update that can stop the volume rocker sending the phone into silent mode. My son's old phone volume rocker only went down to vibrate so now he keeps turning the sound of by habit/accident.
You could use Tasker for this. Create a profile that every (few) minute(s) would set the volume to the desired level. That way the phone will stay on silent at most for the period between two consecutive profile triggers.
Cheers!
Thanks though it's not what I really want. I don't want a set volume level, just to stop it being put into full silent mode by the buttons.
As far as I know, there's no easy way into intercepting and blocking volume keys. It's hardcoded into Android and can only be modified into custom ROMs (like skip tracks in CyanogenMod). But I don't know of anything that does what you want. So that's why I presented you this workaround.

Thanks again, I do appreciate it but that is not a workaround that actually achieves what I want, that would cause a fixed volume, I want to be able to change the volume and go vib only but avoid silent.
