s2u2 will solve that
thanks, it helps, better then just locking the device, since then i dont even get caller ID when its locked ....
is there though a reg hack or anything that can show the caller ID with normal device locking but ofcourse keep the soft keys disabeled

Anyone know of a registry tweak to have the speakerphone set to a default on position? It is a PITA to always have to press that button and when retrieving voicemail you first have to hide the keypad and then turn it on. I know it's petty...but it should be added to one of the tweak programs as an option under the phone tab...and I've searched this many times but came up with nada.
Vito Audio Notes has a feature that you can set to have Speaker Phone Initiate on every call, both incoming & outgoing.
I'm thinking of buying it for the recording feature.

Thanks, I'll look into it. I hope it's free.

haha, wow...
Have you tried this?:
"answer with speakerphone by holding down the send button (button with the green phone icon on it) for a couple of seconds when answering the call. Likewise to toggle speakerphone on and off, simply hold down the send button for 2-3 seconds while in a call."

Yes, I do answer the phone that way some of the time. I don't always remember that shortcut but that's my fault. I still would like to just be able to default to speakerphone on and toggle it off when I need privacy.
This is how I found the above, I typed 'answer speaker phone'.

btw, Vito isn't free.
However, it has to be making some kinda behind the scenes change, for it to have all calls be answered by speaker phone.
Maybe it's just making a simple reg edit.
I guess another option is to figure out what that change is.
You could ask Vito, maybe he would tell you.

heya again.
i've got a P3300 with HTC WM6 (but same happened with WM5)
i was used from my older phones to get this options when a call was incomming:
- answer
- cancel (busy)
- ignore (mute)
now i am missing this last option. sometimes when i get a call, i want to just ignore it, mute the phone (and stop the vibration too) but without giving the caller a "busy" sign.
is that somehow possible?
use the volume slider button and slide downwards
yeah its the volume slider on the top left of the phone
well to clarify as others might get confused like i did.
when ppl. sais "use the volume slider" they don't mean to just slode down the volume. no
i've found out that if i wanted to ignore a call, i just had to tap the slider once, to mute the incomming call and turn of vibration. and it wont affect any sort of volume settings for next incomming calls.
so, thx for your replies, guys.
Hi all,
I'm having a bit of a problem with my HTC. For some reason when it rings, nothing on the display changes (no caller id, no 'answer' button, etc). The only way I can answer the call is by pressing the actual pick up button.
Any idea what's gone wrong??
Thanks
Mark
I have an intercom in my building that is routed to my cell phone. I need to press number to open the door. In the latest builds of 6.5.1, when I receive a call, the option to show the keypad does not appear and no hardware buttons seems to trigger it either .
Is there a setting or registry key somewhere to force the keypad to appear also when receiving calls?
Also, when making call, is there any specific registry keys that control the screen turning on and off during call that I could control? I can understand the problem of having the screen active while the phone is on the hear, but I find it very annoying to have the screen turning off automatically while im answering questions from, i don't know if you remember the time, when the automated voice answering systems were only understanding key tones...
I find it ironic that my smart phone with gps and internet is not able to mimic the same functionality as any land-line phone can. Its like, yeah look at my new phone, its great for everything... except for the 'phone' experience.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the End Call Beep on the HTC One M8? This loud beep is very annoying.
Thanks!!
Anybody have a clue? This is really annoying to me and I am sure it is to a few others.
Thanks for all help in advance!!!!
It's a carrier thing, you can't remove it.
It is not a carrier issue ... I will try this:

I also had this problem and was only a problem with blue tooth connections. It turned out that I could turn down the volume of bluetooth notifications and alerts so that the beep was quite tolerable. While in a call, push the volume button down or up and a menu pops up, click on the gear or star icon on the right of the pop up menu and it will take you to another menu that you can slide the volumes of notifications and alerts from high your current high level to a lower level.
I was on with HTC today and they wanted me to send them the phone for repair! Fortunately I found this setting that relates only to the bluetooth volumes.
Hope this helps you!

I am sorry to resurrect this dead thread, but I'm having this same problem and I don't use bluetooth headsets... the call status tone for connections is killing me...
I have rooted my phone now and it's not a carrier issue (all HTC one M8 software installs seem to have removed the "Call alerts" branch from Settings>Applications>Phone>Call Alerts>Call Status Tones) so I'm trying to find the xml responsible for these settings so I can disable them there. I wish I had an app that could search xml files for text from root so this would be easier like aGREP only that can search root and xml...
I would leave this thread dead except for the fact that I'm still facing this problem and recently had an ear issue that has made this beep so much more painful... and holding the phone away from my ear while waiting for the beep to pass has caused people to hang up on me
