Hello, i was seaching some skins and add-ons for SPB MS. Can't find anything with google, only the Sense ui. Is there more for SPB MS?
Can anyone provide me some links to other forums/threads on XDA?
Many Thanks.

Didn't find it using Google? Don't really believe this..
You can also go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=507697 for MS 3.0/3.0.1 add-ons. There's more (and better) stuff for 3.0.1 since 3.5 is newer, but it's closing the gap real fast.

Anyone know where I can find the latest SPB Weather Build?
I googled and Yahoo searched and couldn't find it.
I contacted SPB and they said they wouldn't help me until I purchased it but honestly I want to test it out some more before I buy.
The build is
SPB Weather v1.7.0 Build 767
Thanks.
Jim
And this is related to WM6 on Hermes... how ?!

It's related by the fact that ONLY the latest build is compatible with WM6. This has been discussed in several threads.

Thanks much. That was exactly what I needed.
I don't know why when I emailed them they didn't just have me go to the forums. I didn't even know they had forums there.

Personally, I don't believe it's an app that they are too proud of ... and I CERTAINLY don't think they want you to read what's in their forum about it.
If you SERIOUSLY want to know the weather, look into SBSH Pocket Weather. THAT one works well.
NOTE: I am not affiliated with either product ... just a paid-up user of SPB who's experimenting with,IMO, a better (and cheaper) product.

I've actually purchased SBSH pocket weather.
But I'm evaluating the Mobile Shell...it takes up less real estate and I can have the tabs for all my pertinent plugins, which I do like.

Less real estate? The way I have SBSH configured, it takes about the same amount as SPB. OK, you can put SPB into a tab, but then you lose almost all WEATHER functionality and detail. If you delete it altogether, you'll also regain the program space. Why keep an application that hardly works?
FWIW, I plan to buy SBSH.

Get SBSH...
I highly recommend SBSH Pocket Weather over the SPB Weather. I used the Mobile Shell for their trial period. It was a nice app...but it did have some memory leaks...I'm sure they fixed it by now, but who knows.
The thing is...their weather app was just horrible. It was soooo inaccurate to a point where it was laughable. Then I found out that the weather info it receives is coming from some Russian site that uses weather trend to forecast and not from a real weather data sites like NOAA. It would be raining cats and dogs and SPB will say "currently sunny -- and for the next 5 days." I'm in California btw. Maybe if you are in Europe, it's more accurate? But I've gone through their forums for a solution and it's simply not a good product.
I am not affiliated with either one of those companies. After trial, I picked SBSH Weather since it was more accurate. Luckily, my company pays for software purchases ... but from what I remember SBSH Weather was cheap.
Just my $0.02.

You can configure SPB weather to use weather.com for a weather source and increase the reliability of the forcast data. I use it with Mobile shell 1.5 and it works great.
Anybody noticed that in new ROM`s SPB Weather and X-button (1.51) have an issue...where all the text of SPB Weather turns to black and it is not viewable in black themes? I have tried to uninstall the X-button and everything seems to be OK with SPB Weather...but X-button is a must have so...any tips?
Regards,
Primoz

Tip is to download the latest SPB Weather from the SPB Forum mentioned in this thread. That fixes the Black font issue.
And to be fair, you can configure SPB Weather to use any weather source using custom templates. Bit fiddly, but if you really want to then again, check out the SPB forum and you'll find quite a few templates that have been created by SPB Weather users.
Just to be clear, I'd go for SBSH everytime though. Not just for their Weather program, but in my opinion all of their products are slightly better than the SPB equivalent, and their support/forum is the best I've come accross (although Lakeridge are generally excellent too).

I tested the SPB and I love the tabs and the added real estate on the today screen because I could configure the launcher, the phone suite, weather and time, all to be in tabs...was great.
But the programs were a memory hog...after a SR, with all running was down to 18mb of ram and it was a little sluggish. Plus there is no built in task manager, which meant adding another task manager program.
I went to SBSH, which I had already purchased, and am using SBSH weather, and i-Launcher. I'm testing phone alarm though, but I miss the call filtering.
Now I'm running 24mb after a soft reset. Much better.

I have SPB mobile shell.. lovin it right now, just like the different interface, good change of pace.. was wonderin if anyone has any themes for it that I shouldn't miss out on?
Also I haven't tried PointUI yet, mainly because I'm happy with the Shell3.0 right now, but I'm curious if it's better? My thread about programs you use with your Vogue someone mentioned Shell3.0 then said he moved on to PointUI.. leading me to believe its better? Or maybe he just wanted a change of scenery like myself
I used spb for some time. I just loaded pointui a few days ago. I think spb has a slight edge here. Not at a point of deciding yet.
mobile shell is a little better imo. pointui has a cool senseui theme that has come out recently, I haven't used it but you should try that out too.
yeah i just started messin with spb so ima probably stick with it for now and maybe try pointui after awhile, if anyone has any themes they think are a must have please hook me up im with the original spb theme right now which im not complaining since i just got it its brand new to me
I think I'm sticking with spb. It is more feature rich, especially with messaging.
THEIRS A NEW VERSION OF SPB MOBILE SHELL http://www.spbsoftware.com/products/mobileshell/ TO BE HONEST, I HAVE NEVER BOTHERED, ABOUT TOUCH FLO AND MANILA, CAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS, USED SPB, AND NOW THEY HAVE FACEBOOK AND TWITTER WIDGETS, BRAVO AND I NEVER HAVE BATTERY DRAIN AS WELL WITH SPB.

Manila 2.5 is much much better ....
mobile shell since v2 its the same problems not finger frindly as manila 2.5
nice feactures but the same no sms app, alarm or calendar .. infornutaly uses windows app a terrible mistake again in M.shell v3.5
the new feactures are excelent customisation like android and a nice carrosel idetical to tegra UI but is still the same unfornutaly some times i need the stylus to go to calendar apointments, alarm and sms opens in windows ?????
a terrible mistake in this new version not finger frindly as manila 2.5 ....
mobile shell v3.5 to be perfect need 3part app for exemple vito sms chat , g-alarm and thumbcal ....
Agreed.
Even the simplicity of the music tab is missing. And using WMP produced huge load on the system.
From another hand the interface is more "Android" like which give more informative and comfortable screen.
I'll give a try. Combined with manila 2.1 though
A number of Mobile Shell threads already exist like these few. No need for another!

WM Prof 6.1 - TP2 - T-Mobile
Trying to figure out what to do about the today screen. I have gone between HTC TouchFLow3d and WM and am not overly happy with either. Left HTC because their contact screen does not return you back to the previous selected contact. I am new to touch screens and it can be painful to finally get to the right contact. Then accidently select the contact above or below, click on back and be returned to the As. WM is just plain ugly.
What are some suggestions. I hear about sbd and cookie. What other interaces are out there and what do you use or suggest?
THanks
I disable Sense and use WisbarAdvancedDesktop 2 to get exactly the interface that looks like I want. There you can build the today screen nearly totally free. Look here for examples:

Titanium (new Windows Mobile Theme).
I think you'll find that the SPB that burton linked to will probably be a lot more comfortable to use, it runs a lot leaner than Sense does, and is just a lot more approachable...but still very powerful when it comes to customizing. And, there's pre-built themes you can apply if you find one that suits you.
If you really like customizing and lots of functionality, you may like Pointui Home2 which I use. See my sig for details... it's memory footprint to comparable to Spb MS too. The theme/suite I use in Home2 is one I coded to look like WP7, but have real functionality not just look nice/flashy.
i am leaning towards a commercial, paid interface to replace TF3D. need it to be pretty stable. i have already spent so much time playing with this phone that my family is about to mutany. so betweem spb and pointui how would you rate their stability, ability to customize, and ease of customization - and anything else to compare.

I honestly haven't used the pointui interface myself yet, but I can say that SPB is ultra-stable (especially compared to TF3D and Sense), and presents a nice small load to the system resources. It's been around for years, and even ran smooth and stable on my previous HTC phone, the Wizard, which had barely a third of the processor power and memory capacity that the TP2 has. It's also about as easy to configure as a phone GUI can be, and extremely flexible and customizable....there's literally dozens and dozens of themes and styles available for it, both here and across the net, all of which are extremely easy to apply and/or switch between.
I'm not saying anything bad about pointui, I just don't know it. However, I do believe that SPB will have more "ready-to-use" stuff to find than pointui, just based on how often I see them.
Also, SPB allows you a free trial version, so you can give it a try without committing
sirphunkee is correct about Sbp MS. Compared to Pointui Home2 it is much easier to hit the ground running with it and is more polished overall with lots of customization. Both it and Pointui are very stable on just about any device. Both can get away with low memory footprints since they offload larger sized images to storage memory, though I'm not sure if MS can, but Pointui allows you set the image threshold to either use more memory for speed or more storage if you need memory to run more apps or stay stable. I've used all flavors Pointui and all the other UI's and I aways come back to Pointui, since it's scripting engine is just as powerful (C#-based) as MortScript allowing for extreme customization and speed at the OS level. Sorry rambling... to sum it up there are many UI's/Today plug-ins that are great and varied. I'll list some, but besides TF3D/Sense, Titanium the most integrated for WM the 2 imho that are at the top are Pointui Home2 and Spb MS3.5.
Here some others to try...
1. HomeScreen++ formerly BatterStatus very powerful Today plugin and great for integrating standard today screen with most PIM info or just having single screen for all important info.
2. iLauncher
3. ThrottleLauncher
4. Infinity
5. And more...
Again to me MS and Home2 are the best and both have trial versions that don't really expire. Go with Home2 if you need more functionality (PIM-wise) and love to spend time customizing otherwise go with MS3.5 if you want instant eye-candy and shorter prep time customization-wise. Both have all the basics and more to start off and both have great support communities (I'm a community dev on Pointui forums). Whichever you choose, these two, or some other will be a great choice.
trying to find this download for my tablets
.help
What is spd shell, and what is supposed to be the function?
Having just a weeee bit more information may help in pointing you in the right direction
ummmmm............ could you repeat that?
I do not believe that there is a honeycomb version yet. There is a beta floating around but does not work correctly. SPB website shows it is not working on tablets yet.
Back in the days of Windows Mobile I have found links for the betas in the SPB forums
I did not look to see if a beta is there for Android as SPB shell has a history of being crap software, IMHO. Looks cool but it is form over function.
