Is there an application for rebooting the Rhodium? Without pressing and holding the power button?
you might try the HD Tweak program for that. It has a soft reset possibility.
Do a search on this forum and you will find your answer and/or HD Tweak. Anither app that has soft reset is Memmaid, but that is not for free.
you might also do a search for the XDA Shutdown app, which also has the reset function

I get really fed up with the camera turning on everytime I accidently press the button. So I set the camera button to 'none' which did the trick, until I soft reset. I have to re-do the change after every soft reset. Have any of you come across this problem or better still have a solution?
I even installed Battery Pack Pro but the 'power button' settings are ignored, so if I set the camera button to none for both tap and hold when I press it the camera appears!
Please help this is driving me mad.
Are you on WM5? It might be an unresolved issue.
Otherwise, try to assign a different application to the camera button and see if it remembers it.
I'm using 2003 se.
I'll try allocating a different app and see if it's remembered.
thanks

what is your device model my friend???
T-Mobile MDA III running the standard T-Mobile ROM - although I have upgraded the radio ROM. But this problem has always existed.
just go at the windows/startup directory. You will see there a camera_detect program. This is what reassigns the camera application on the camera button every time you soft reset. Just delete it.
Brilliant.
These things are so easy when you know the answer!
Many thanks.
i had that same problem and fixed it the same way =)
My right soft key is unresponsive. It works about 1 in 20 presses.
I need to hard reset!! But I cannot get a good key press on the right soft key.
Using the soft keys on the keyboard dosent work either.
Is there an app I can use to hard reset, or maybe a different key combo?
I don't know if I'm pointing out the obvious but try:
START/SETTINGS/SYSTEM (tab)/CLEAR STORAGE

That is what AT&T support would have you do.
Thanks for your replies, you are totally correct.
I suddenly remembered that option at work today and the Hard-Reset worked fine.

Some time back I started having trouble with my right soft key, now it doesn't work at all.
Glad 'Clear Storage' also works as a Hard Reset.
Thanks ach2

No, the right soft key still doesn't work.
I don't expect the right soft key to start working again, I only wanted another way, besides using the soft keys, to do a hard reset.
And 'Clear Storage' works.

What rom are you using..? Does it happen on other roms? have you soft/hard reset?
PDACornerPro.V21.Non-RBSN.FINAL.20273
Only tried a soft reset so far, don't want to do a hard reset yet as I'm planning on reflashing in the next week, just wondered if there was a quick fix for it.
quick fix would be soft reset or hard reset unfortunalty... Also try powering off and removing battery also.
Thanks for the replies, I'll probably just live with it for now remap one of the other buttons to phone and see if it starts working again after I've reflashed it.

maybe we need to think that Hermes it is machine which can break down??
Sounds simple, but a search did not turn up the answer. I just want a link that restarts the phone so I don't have to hold down the power button, wait, and then turn it on again. I know how to create a link, but what should it link to for a restart in WinMo 6.5? Or is there already a link burried on the phone somewhere?
On my TmoUS TP2 I use the stylus to poke the little hole in the side of my device...or you can search xda or google for a cab for SLIDE2SHUTDOWN.
I use this one. If you hold the power key you get the options to soft reset, turn off screen, turn off device

The esteemed Mr Snow () is correct, that cab is the simplest way to access the regular 3 standard shutdown options.
If you just want to click a shortcut to soft-reset, and that's the only option you care about for this, then the HDTweak app actually installs a soft-reset shortcut, that can be placed just like any other.
SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.3. user interface (commercial software) gives you an icon for softreset under Launcher/Tools/
Or, if you want something small, you can try MySoftReset.

Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
its been 3 days now
please.. can anyone tell me whats wrong with my sense???
almost everytime i unlock my phone, it will restart all over....
this sometime happen even after long browsing..
Hello,
The first thing you can do - go to Settings, then Applications, find HTC Sense and delete it's application data. If it doesn't work try to wipe everything (all your data will be lost)
Turn the power off. If your HTC Desire is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
Hold the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO
lost, so make a backup/sync your contacts).
Do you run a custom ROM?
there are now 3 different threads about Sense restarting on the same page.
Maybe you'd like to search?
