Hello,
I bought new HTC TOUCH PRO 2 with Sprint. I have 16 GB SC card installed, and I copied around 8GB of music too it.
The experience has been miserable - half the time after 5 to 8 seconds of playing a song, it crashes, and I get the error audiomanager_eng.exe has crashed, etc.
I search this forum and found a thread suggesting to install two cab files to fix the issue - however it wasn't until after I installed them, I saw they were for windows mobile 6.5. So, I tried uninstalling them with the remove programs.
Now, when I try to goto the sprint music player, nothing comes up but a black screen, and then it relaunches touch flo 3d. How can I fix this? Or is there a better music player then the built in touch flo spring music?
I'm pretty disappointed in this device. It can't play simple mp3 files? wtf?
The whole reason I got this phone was for exchange support, and not spending 200 bucks on an IPOD.
im having the same problem and i posted a thread asking about it...wouldnt u know, i didnt get a useful response either...if i find and answer ill definitely let you know
Any ideas for alternative music players? Anyone have original cabs for sprint music player so I can re-install?
I have had this problem before. I reflashed my phone and reset a few times only to find it was a problem with the files on my memory stick. I formatted my card and put music back on and it works great now. Hope this helps

Hello, I have a 8525, and currently running Black 2.0. On all the ROMs WM6, I have an issue that whenever I try to play mp3 or videos through windows media player or even CorePlayer, they play for about 3-5 seconds then it stops. I didnt have this issue that i can recall when running WM5.
I am not even concerned about doing this through my BT headset yet, just simply trying to play media. This issue happens if the media is on the device or the storage card. I have searched the forums, and still have not found anything.
Any ideas?

Cant say ive ran into this issue AT ALL, what apps do you have running/installed??
(Could you update your sig and profile with your devices details and your country/provider?? helps ALOT)
Even when I do a fresh install of a new ROM, it does not matter. For example, I just flashed the new 'dutty' WM6 build (I did the premium version) and still no different. Even if I use the PocketPlayer Trial which is included in the ROM or WM Player. Does not matter if MP3 or AAC files. It is almost like I get a buffer overload or something?
Any ideas would be helpful....thanks in advance.
Have you tried flashing WM5 again and seeing what happens?
not yet, this was my next step if someone does not have any other ideas. I cant believe no one else has this isssue on WM6 and the 8525?? Hopefully, over the next few days, people will make some suggestions. If not, in the next few days, I will try flashing WM5 simply to test. Thanks
I had this problem.

When I first flashed one of the original Kyphur releases, there was a issue as to whether we should set the page pool memory to static 4mb or set it to 0mb and let the applications choose the amount of page pool memory needed. I set mine to 4mb and Media Player would not run. When I changed the registry key to 0mb to allow the applications to set page memory as needed, the problem went away. Not sure if this is your problem, but I see that someone has set memory page pool on this release to 4mb.

You could try deleting the MSMETADATA folder on your storage card/device and then rebuild your library. I always do this when WMP starts playing up and 9/10 it solves the problem.

Hi all I installed TNT 2.o Pro 6mb PP, its worked great, no issues at all. Today I reset my phone because it got stuck, and now it will boot up to where it says "TNT Windows Mobile Professional 6.0" BUt just stay stuck there and not go into windows.
Is there a way to fix this? I haven't done anything new today but record a video which went to my memory card. I have unplugged the batter for a while, taken out memory card, but Im having the same issue. I've had TNT for about 3 months now with no problems. Please don't tell me it bricked itself.
Any help please!!!
Can I do a hard reset? Will that work with the custom ROM?
Try a hard reset, or reflash you're pda.
any chance the movie you recorded ended up on the internal flash, rather than your microSD?
windows mobile doesn't always play nice when available storage nears (or is) zero. i'd vote hard reset, followed by reflash if necessary.
Lol no didn't go to flash, its in the memory card because I transfered it out to my laptop.
Well I re flashed with TNT's newest addon. So I guess its done. But now I can't remember the name of my ui for my today screen. I remembered it looked like the following:
-Big digital time numbers on the top
-had 4 icons under clock going horizontally with your Home, Contact shortcut, --weather, program shortcuts
MP3 plugin
Anyone know what im talking about?

HTC Home plugin - it can have up to six tabs though. If it is not preinstalled search for it somewhere in this forum, there are tons of links to it.
well hello guys
I'm just asking here if anyone encountered this problem before me:
My music tab has been working for like 2 months (since i flashed for the last time) without a problem, but i only had 3 or for albums on my SDcard.
I bought a new one (i went from 2 to 8gb) and i copied all my data on it, the music tab still worked for 2 days.
Then i decided to copy more music on it, i mean, why not? So i copied 2gb of music and then nothing, the tab just says "searching for music" until the "sorry but no music found" message.
But the card is fully functionnal and everything can be seen from the file explorer, and can be read with MEDIA PLAYER MOBILE (i hate that program so much).
After deleting most of the music, and only letting less than 150songs on the card, the tab works just fine.
Any comment would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time guys.
(ark's rom, wm6.5.x)
Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has troubles with there mp3s not playing. For a couple of days my music player would play music then all of a sudden it would say file not supported or something along the lines of that. Where it would no longer play my music. At first thought it was the player so I downloaded another player and it said file didn't exist. The files are obviously there as I just played it a day ago.
After rebooting my phone it would play again. Then same thing would happen a couple of days later. So then I tried unmounting my sd card and remounting. That works as well for a day. The same thing it wouldn't read or play the mp3s. Is it my sd card (stock sd btw) or just a buggy phone? Thanks in advance? I'm rooted using syndicate rom, was happening b4 I rooted as well. Thought it would help it doesn't.
I have this same issue
I can still access the SD Card... add / remove files via ASTRO or Drop Box...
Just any attempts to play media fail (even ringtones / notification sounds)
At one point someone said to clean the SD Card contacts... I tried that, no improvements.
Nothing short of an unmount-remount fixes it. Whether mounting the card to a computer or just a reboot (quick or hard works)
No one's been able to figure it out so far :/
ACS 1.1.1
Been doing it since 1.0.2
Ah. See I thought it was my phone but damn glad its a known issue. I was thinking maybe a better sd card instead of a class 2. But may need to do some digging, what r ur thoughts about having just the music files on root of sd card. Instead of folders so that the phone doesn't have to dig so far?
Unfreeze or restore the drm content thingy. This solved it for me a couple months ago

Its an issue with mp3s. How would I unfreeze the drm?
Delete the drm app from system/app.
Well I will update you in a day with no rebooting or unmount/remount. If this works I will give you my first child...
I deleted the drm app a while ago when k0nane suggested it... It didn't change anything for me.
It has been working for me. Nothing has gone wrong since the deletion of the drm. Also I might add that I deleted twitter as well. I saw a huge number of posts that suggested doing it. So I did that too. And no hiccups. I got a different client for that.
I do have Twitter installed... I will axe that and see what happens.
I can confirm... After uninstalling Twitter I haven't had to reboot to fix a music file issue...
Thanks for that info kwilbur3... Hopefully anyone else who runs into this will find this post
So I love everything about this phone so far except for all the problems I'm having trying to play music off my sd card. I keep getting errors from every media player that so & so file cannot be played. I've tried reformatting my card & that seemed to help at first but now it's happening again. I've deleted every .nomedia file I can find. Songs that I literally JUST played will for some reason not play the second time I try to play them. I can finish a song & immediately try to play it again & get an error. They're just regular mp3s, too. It's maddening. I doubt it's my card, it worked perfectly in my HD2 and in my Sensation. I'm kind of new to Samsung phones so is there some special way I need to format it? I formatted it in the phone, it should work. Is anyone else having this problem?
I tried out player pro and all the songs from my 32gb I used in my sensation play fine. Did you try that app?

I have not, I'll try it.
I still wanna know why this is happening though.
Edit: Damn dude, good call on PlayerPro. Works awesomely & has folder browsing just like I like :>
