I really miss the opportunity to tweak the colour of my led like I could with G1. does the Hero have the same functionality and it's just not used?
Or is it a hardware issue?

this dont work as the commands and codes are made for the g1, though i have found the source to where LED's are in the hero, but I havent made any progress yet on changing the colors!

Is there a possibility to have the trackball change colors as well? My girlfriend's old BlackBerry was able to do that with a software update and I always thought that was cool. Not a big deal though, just wondering.

If a guy is secure enough in his masculinity to carry a pink phone, more power to him. Most guys I know are not that secure and are too worried what other guys will think
I am really surprised that considering how popular the Excalibur is there isn't more options for housings. There are some funky cases, but, eh.
Love this site, btw. Lots of great info and hacks on here. Maybe I'll get brave enough to install 6.1 at some point

The green one looks cool. I think this is a manufacturer looking for a bulk buyer. to resell these puppies. I wrote Them an email to see if they would sell me one or two sample housing to check out the quality of the housing to if I wanted to make a bigger purchase. I'll let you know if I get an answer.

Just got my TP2 and its packed with bloatware. any way or kill off the extended rom? or anyone know where abouts in the registry to kill it.. also.. the sprint splash at boot... id like that gone too...

If its a Tilt2 then find the cab called CrudScraper and run it. Works great at getting rid of all the ATT bloatware. As far as customizing the rest there are specific threads for specific tweaks.

There's also a number of replacement boot-splash screens available around here, I don't have any bookmarked or I'd point you to one. Just search for "welcomehead". I attached the one I use, it's a combo HTC/Windows Phone animated logos, feel free to use this one if it's good enough, or search for others out there.

no.. not a TILT2.. I bought from a friend who had it on Sprint.. I have since unlocked and changed the radio and now I am running it on ATT... so packed full of Sprint apps that are useless to me. I have been doing some reading here in XDA about extended roms but havent goten too far.

actually ive seen one that didnt freeze,camera worked,sound,mic,everything.
the guy said he paid 20$ for it and that the guy was extremely proud of his creation, i have his number,but he doesnt answer.

no it was the tp2 sprint
at first i thought xda,but it booted like a real android
wifi,and the google speach thing worked when i tested them.
i honestly dont know what to think of it...

Just got me a refurbished Desire from 3 for a very decent price, so I never got the original box which means I have no way of knowing what type of screen I have
It has Android version 2.2 is that scone or custard slice? haha, so can I asume it will have a SLCD screen
also why does it have a purple tinge, I read that somewhere else and hoped mine wouldnt be like that, will need a cover that goes over the whole phone to be honest cos its not good for my street cred having a purple phone, haha
on the hunt for a decent theme to use, the live screens are great but will get bored of them sooner or later, ive seen some that change the look of all the icons, how do I get one of them installed?
any links for the push software so i can get an alert from facebook

anyway apparently AMOLED have the purple tint, theres a thread about it here

you can try launcher pro or ADW launcher which i like better and the push software should aready be there, syncing in the background.

Easiest way to confirm what screen you have is turrn on your camera in a pitch black room. If its amoled the screen will stay pitch black on your phone, if its slcd you will easily notice any sort of light bleeding around the edge of the screen. I think I'm right in saying that?

There is no superAMOLED in HTC Desire. AFAIK that is a Samsung-exclusive feature.

Far as I know it only works with galaxy phones and not many of them

I know it's been working on other devices. I think the limitation is Bluetooth 4.0 LE, which the M8 ships with. Just wondering if anyone has made any more progress than I have.

Cool, thanks for sharing the fix. I had thought about getting one but ended up getting the Sony since I knew everything would work. If the price drops low enough on these since the new ones are out I may still end up snagging one up since you figured it out.

Watch Best Buy daily deals - I picked mine up for $150. Having the camera on my wrist is pretty cool! I still can't get notifications, but I'll update when those are working.
