Had a Tytn for years; just got a Touch HD.
I have spent a couple of nights searching/reading this great forum but am still stumped.
I would like to know how to put program shortcut icons (like Tomtom) on the today page
under the "call history" and "calendar" lines? Is this ROM specific or is it a setting/setup
I am yet to find?
I am using the Topix V3.0 ROM which I believe is WM6.5 and Manilla 2.5
I have attached a (non Topix) today screen that has three icons, "camera", "Music" and
"HTC People", indicating where on the today page I mean.
Any help what be greatly appresiated.

It is rom specific, you need the later versions of manila, ie 2.51xxxxxx (aka 2.6). There are quite a few roms currently with this feature.

I tried the Tomel V2.5 first but that must be Manilla 2.5 also.
I have the Miri "Miri_WM65_21859_Premium_Manila_2.5_REV9.0" but this appears to
be 2.5 too.

miri rev 9 uses the new manila 2.51xxxxx and does have the quicklinks on the front page. (Oh and there are actually 9 quicklinks not just the 3 you see, if you scroll the screen up there are 6 more below the 3 you see.)
You get manila 2.5 and the new manila is 2.51xxxxxx which is the one you are looking for.
Is there anyway to customize those icons?
Because some programs still have a ugly 2 pixel icon hardcoded in the exe.
I want some slick png's as an icon?

can someone tell me if there is a cab out there with tab icons for the new manila v3 (for exemple dutty XTREME roms)?
Would really appricieate it!
Btw, are the cabs for the manila v2 compatible with the manila v3 tabs?

I think you've miss understood him here. In this cab for the icons, the stock icon isn't missing it just isn't skinned. Installing this cab won't take an icon/tab away. The calendar tab will still be there as well and it will have a nice new icon!!!

I think its only my english causing problems here With missing I ment it wouldnt be reskinned by the cab file.
My experiences are, that all cabs with tab icons which worked on the manila v2 do also work perfectly on the manila v3. So for now I am happy.
Another question:
Is it already known which manila files contain the remaining icons such as the new topaz/rhodium icons in the people details tab (the one where u can select all the stuff related to a contact). Would also want to know if somebody knows in which manila files I can change the sound tab icons.
Hope I could explain my request right.

Oh sorry, I see what you're saying now. In that case I believe you are correct. The stock icon is the only one that will not be skinned.
Hopefully we will see some new sets of icons out soon for the new manila, that would be great!
I'm afraid I don't have any answers for your next questions. Except maybe flashing Dutty's 2.5 rom that has this built into the rom.
I saw a insomnia132G rom for Niki which implimented grid people tab instead of the normal flickable tab in all the other roms.
Is there a rom for Diamond that implimented the same TF3D of insomnia132G for Niki.
If not, how can I change the people tab to be grid for easy access to my favorite contact.

The Niki was probably running Manila 2D. That said, you need TF3D 2.5 which isn't ported to VGA yet to have these functions.

I want to make the taskbar and softkey bar transparent as can be achieved by Max's Theme Maker software (here), and also through the titanium plug-in, but in the Manila interface. The effect can be seen here in Antoniomistretta's awesome theme.
I have used Max's software in the past, but Dutty's new rom is currently unsupported and I was trying to find a separate cab/workaround that could do it. But as I've said, I keep coming up blank on my searches.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially links to the previous posts that I can't seem to find!

Hi! I use for my themes HDWALL of Maranello and transparent taskbar work only rom with winmo 6.5!

Which Dutty rom are you using? MaxTTM works fine for me on Leo R4 and all the latest builds of WM6.5, including the newer versions with the buttons on the bottom...

The Rom I'm using is his latest R14 rom for the 2.1 manila (it has the Hero weather info on the homepage.) I guess that's the reason that it won't work because the home page layout is different to previous ones so I guess I just need Max to release a new home layout.
But as I was going to be waiting for the new homepage, I wanted to use a workaround in the meantime and that's when I've been drawing a blank!

No problem!
Guys he asked for the taskbar and soft key bar, not the curtains. Equally the home layout, and indeed the whole TF3D version has nothing to do with the taskbar or soft key bars - they are WM 6.5 components and using MaxTTM app (not Maxy's home layout, his app!) will allow you to skin those bars regardless of what UI you use (Titanium, TF3D etc) unless you have a third party taskbar app (ie WisBar).
There is a fault with the auto deployment - you have to go into the app and press convert to get it to soft reset, but that's the only problem

I can't seem to find it exactly. ROMs keep popping up with manila 2.1 and 2.5 but I can't seem to see any difference on the screens.
What are the main differences between those two? I have now the latest stock rom with windows mobile 6.5 installed and that is 2.1 it seems. Only difference with the previous version seems to be coloured icons :/
So what does the 2.5 has to offer?

The Manila 2.5 Home screen is different, with some app icons underneath the clock. Mainla 2.5 also includes Footprint and Twitter tabs.

as what Lord_BlackAdder said 2.5 homescreen is different. also the fact that it has an animated wallpaper. (not just the weather animation) i love 2.5 manila but it doesn't support landscape at the moment.
2.5 home screen has some shortcut icon
and ，animated wallpaper （ not only weather ,it's full screen)
but 2.5 seems can't support horizontal screen....
Dear experts and guru's, I've tried searching the boards but can't seem to turn up anything. Is there any way to get the Contacts tab for Sense 2.5 into Manila 2.1? I prefer the clickable icons rather than scrolling.
Anybody could point me in the correct direction? Thanks in advance.

Hmm... seems like it has not been done just yet...
This would be great. The 2.5 people tab is (in my opinion) way better then the 2.1. Only sense 2.5 is just so dawm slow
