Here's something you might need to do, you'll see "Beta, expires on 12/01/2009" on your home screen.
- Dont worry, it wont expire - its been patched
- To remove this message, go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell and delete the folder "Device Beta" and all its contents and soft reset!
Also, make sure you enable the magnifier, its really cool -
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\MAGNIFIER]
"Enable"=dword:1
To access the magnifier, tap on the top bar, and then click on the zoom button!

Here's the first serious ROM cooked for release! Its based on 23053, with a special theme i've made for the i780!
This is a 96dpi build based on WM6.5 23053.
Here are the features -
- Fixed initial buttons default config
- 128 DPI bigger 3 column programs list with high res icons!
- New custom theme designed for the i780
- Square soft key buttons (no more oval crap!), Checkboxes, radio buttons, buttons etc. with new cool graphics (choose dt39AllBlack theme to activate these)
- Softkey menu popups are the right size and have shadowed menu borders (not too big or too small )
- Lots of reg tweaks to improve performance
- Programs list scrolls seamlessly till the end
- Separate version with English ROM and Russian keyboard
Installation Instructions-
1. Flash the rom - default procedure (If you dont know how, google it, dont ask how to on this thread)
2. Hard reset - default procedure (If you dont know how, google it, dont ask how to on this thread)
3. Boot up, and change theme to "dt39AllBlack"
Known Issues
- On first boot "Send SMS Message" button does not send. This is a bug in 23053. Just soft reset once, and it will work fine.

- Mouse bug (need new drivers)
- Owner information missing (will be fixed in next release). Here's the temporary fix for that. Use a registry editor and delete the "Redirect" key under HKLM\ControlPanel\Owner.

yep ssr. But my previous post was not any serious rom was more of a latest wm6.5 build port - no customizations/tweaks etc. From now on, will keep this thread constant....unless theres reason to start a new one

i've dropped in 128dpi icons for the programs list. Increased the menu item size just so much that they are finger friendly and legible. I'd suggest that you try this out, and let me know what hurts to read which is better in 128dpi - and i'll try and bring that in onto the same 96dpi rom.
The idea is to have a unified rom - which is finger friendly, usable and readable.

I know that for some, as for me, the Bluetooth problem is major. If anyone wants to take a stab at it and help find a fix, by all means, please do! I think it has something do to with btdrt.dll not registering properly.
Flashing instructions (Remove the SD card!!):
1. HardSPL Recommended! See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398945
2. Download and unzip the file
3. Run RomUpdateUtility.exe
4. Follow the prompts
5. The flash will take about 8-10 minutes
6. Upon first boot, it will seem frozen for a few minutes, maybe even go black. This is NORMAL!
7. Enjoy!
In case something goes wrong:
1. Remove the battery and the SD Card--> Put ONLY the battery back in.
2. While holding the camera button, press the power button
3. The multicolor boot screen will pop up
4. Plug in the USB cable and flash back your shipped (HTC or Dopod) ROM
5. Find out what went wrong and reflash this new ROM properly

One small problem
Love this ROM, looks great, works very well for the most part, only one small problem I've found so far. When I open the start menu it shows recent items, but when you use the left softkey to open "All Programs" the button flashes, but nothing changes, you are just stuck at the recent items menu. You can't get to any other installed apps... Would love it if a fix were available...

I am using the DOPOD C730. Just for the heck of it I re-flashed the ROM to my phone. That did seem to fix the issue, now when I press the "All Programs" softkey, the menu expands and shows all installed programs. Confirming that bluetooth does not work with this ROM on the DOPOD C730 either. WiFi works ok, and other features seem good. I'll report anything else I find as well. So you guys can ignore my previous post about the programs menu, its working after a ROM re-flash.
ROM expires?
I just rebooted my phone and noticed that this ROM appears to expire. I get a message saying this concludes the beta test of this software. I can't get past it and am going to re-flash the original ROM for now. Looking forward to a final build of this ROM to use!
I've got the same problem as joe- I'll bet htc put an expiration date on the rom. One (temporary) workaround would be to set an incorrect, earlier date, I suppose. But otherwise, an awesome rom! Great job!

Tell me or by the keyboard may not work at all, for example, on my Samsung
oh, and also none of my apps seem to be able to use data. I did auto configure for at&t, and IE can get online, but neither skyfire, facebook, or seven email seem to be able to use the data connection.
Good to know that this ROM has a Time Bomb. On the other hand, how's the battery life?

This might be due to the Home Screen timeout issue I am battling. Goes to "the layout cannot be loaded" after letting it sit at idle for a while. Try unchecking the "show recent programs" box in Home Screen settimgs. I am working on a permanent fix. Uploading another test version right now for you guys to try. Bluetooth fixed!!!! Please test A2DP, etc...

WOW! You guys got that "time-bomb" It also happened to Excalibur users with NRG's Energy ROM. I am uploading a new version now with SYS 21048 that is not going to expire... (hopefully)

Thats weird. I use 3G data with everything. Outlook, email, IE, Google Maps, etc. Check to make sure its set to use either Internet Connection or Media.net if on AT&T. Uploading 1.01 now. Check the first post for the link.

There is no error ! I adjusted backlight time settings to save battery.
Please push power once to get back to calibration step,
and during post install jog the wheel to keep light on screen, or let it go black for 1 min then push power once.
It can be tricky to get back light on screen, don't think my rOm is bugged, as it isn't !!!

Lots of cabs in the cabs folder of post_install. I should have really cleaned this - sorry for the mess.
Only one cab is really needed - GoogleMaps,
otherwise it can create errors with Manila if not installed.
The name of the Internet is "Proxy Internet",
if you use automatic set up from Chome tab "getting started".
Please note that some of the other cabs like Titanium Weather might not work for config because of this.
(You can open cab with WinCeCab Manager and edit the Titanium Weather.mscr to change internet settings.)
You can download any version of Titanium Weather here on XDA and try them.
This is rather old pluggin and I don't use it anymore
prefer the black Manila to give you top-class lookin' weather update
Here is what I do :
1°) Flash + hard reset
2°) Auto config, then the device reboots
3°) Tab "Getting started", I set up the Internet connection, then I delete the "getting started" thinggie
4°) I switch from Chome to Manila
5°) PIM restore + Advance Config system filtercache at 4096 sectors (recommended, I have 8 Gb SD)
6°) Soft reset, because after PIM phone is always slow !!!
7°) I start to play with the ROM

Sound can be adjusted as usual in a phone talk with the external wheel
For system volume, it's because the new notification page doesn't have a system sound plugin ... I think the HTC volume control can override the inconvenience. I'll try to implement the one from MEGA soon

No idea ! Did you hard reset after flash ? You use FRA version right ?
Have you changed your radio BTW ? I heard some don't work nicely with Bouygues ( the problem you described )
I called myself from home and was able to join the mobile phone perfectly. I think it's not ROM related,
someone else can confirm ?
Hi Nar, got some with cleanRam when used from CleanRam Config, it did freeze my PDA....strange....after a softreset, i tried it but with CleanRam and no problem but after the softreset, i got a screen telling me that i got a problem with MortScript V4.3b5: ''.mscr and .mortrun extensions registred. Please run any .msrc/.mortrun file or resd the manual.''

Yes. The Clean Ram process is now very long to act. You must wait for the ending message or it will freeze your PDA.
The screen you got after soft reset is normal, it's Mortscript and because you installed TitaniumWeather; once done, this message takes place at boot.
You have to erase Mortscript.lnk in Windows\Démarrage to get rid of the message
(it applies only once, unnecessary afterwards.)

ATM no possibility to change ring volume ! Sorry
But you can put on vibrate or silent by comm manager, or increasing ring for example.

I indeed tried a hard reset and I use a french version. Last night I tried with my girl friend's sim card and it works So you might be right I need to intall an other version of my radio. How can I know wich version I have and which one should I install for bouygues?

There are some radios which are not compatible with Bouygues
1.50.08.11 does not work on Bouygues network
try 1.41.00.11 or 1.56.70.11, those only two will work

install Marc Landis SetVolume 0.5.1, here:

Then -> To use, press Start, Settings, Personal, Buttons

Done ! from now, you can acces both system volume and ringer volume by using the right hardware button,
tap on top of the screen to change between system or ringer control

In case you tried my WM6.1 Lite ROM and were waiting for an improved release, there is some good news for you. I have been working on an improved WM6.5 ROM for sometime and proudly present the build 23016 ported on Asus P565. Some would say 23034 is out, so why 23016 ? Well, I found it most stable without any significant issues.
I tried to ensure that I make it light and easily customizable. Important features from 23016 are included and the rest are removed. Slot0 has been kept as free as possible, but I can't rule out the scope for further improvement in free memory. I am waiting for a next stable release post 23022 to work on it.

Installation -
1. Grab a nice hot cup of coffee, not recommended if you have acidity problems like me
2. Extract GM5_WWE.abi from the .rar file.
3. Copy it to the root directory of your SD Card
4. Connect your Phone via Activesync.
5. Press & hold the NaviPad-Down button+Press & hold the soft reset button with the stylus. Wait till you see the bootloader, then release both the buttons.
5. Sit Back & Relax.
6. After the flashing process is over, the phone would reboot take you through the customization process. Do not interrupt it, phone would reboot again after the Initial & User customization are complete.
P.S. : Dialer & EzInput cabs are in Storage Card and are installed as part of User Customization. Details in Post#2 below.BTW, you may also try Finger Keyboard 2.1 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501407
Known Issues -
None, you tell me ... Just kidding, there are some & am working on them :
1. Camera application takes pictures fine but the LCD output is scrambled while the pictures are taken.
( Update : "Cool Camera" App seems to work fine. Pls. Use it for now till the issue is resolved).
2. Not really an issue from User point of view, but the provxmls are not running. I resolved it for now by converting them to .cabs which get installed as a part of Initial Customization.

User Customization via Storage Card
User Customization : ( This needs to be done before you initiate flashing)
1. Create a folder called 'Cabs' on the root directory of your Storage Card.

Can you compare this with your 6.1 lite version and update about speed and performance. Further how much memory and ram are free after installing this ROM.

Memory/RAM - I didnt mention this intentionally, as it would depend on how you customize it with User Customization. Some may choose to install the dialer and Ezinput while some may not. BTW, you would have 130+ MB of free storage space and 50+ MB of RAM without installing the dialer/Ezinput cabs.
Speed/Performance- More of a perspective issue, but I believe it is as good as the previous 6.1 ROM. This is because of the way virtual memory is mapped in WM6.5.

I guess Tachi dialer is causing this issue. Try skipping the dialer packages in User Customization. I faced this issue , and for the same reason, I didn't cook it into the ROM. Feel free to use other dialers , or simply skin your standard WM dialer.

Ok guys, this is fixed. As I said, it was due to some missing codecs in OEM ( in my desperation to make it light ) . I will be uploading the fixed ROM tonight and update once done.

SIM contacts will be shown in Contacts
The rest is kept as close to original as posible, so you can customize it as you wish (Opera, Themes, Panels on Home etc).
Lock screen is not activated when Power button is pressed , so if you have solution to this problem that does not include installation of another app please share it - This problem is fixed with SmartLock app that can be enabled in Settings - See 1.1 ROM change log.

ROM is for Trinity HTC P3600 and it looks like those pictures but in normal Trinity P3600 resolution.
Those pictures are just illustration of how ROM looks like on Trinity P3600.

Thanks for sharing this rom but it contains the same problem with wi-fi ip, subnet mask and gateway configuration as Supersport's rom so i cant set up internet connection . I attached a screenshot with problem, i can only enter 2 digits in fields. I hope someone can solve this.

It looks like this problem has something to do with default WM6.5 theme since you can change IP/SubNet/Gateway from registry.
The same goes for arrows on drop-down-list boxes that are elongated, but I don't know how to change these settings.

None of that software takes up memory only some space in storage, but if you insists, I guess I could make one "naked" ROM.
Also, You can download Kitchen and create ROM that suites you and your needs. Just follow video tutorial from first post:

In my Kitchen only PHM_Editor is located in OEM so you cant exclude it from ROM strait away. You can move its folder (located in OEM\Trinity\0409) to EXT\Trinity\COMMON so you can exclude even that from ROM. Exit Kitchen before moving folder and start it again when folder is moved.

Looks like it also built in my kitchen, here is the solution:
If you remove the opera mini lang folder, you remove these registry strings:

thanks but i just found an easy solution without writing all those strings just go to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\
duplicate one of the folders ex 40C3 and rename it 40C4
and inside "Name"="Button 3" to "Name"="Button 4" then go to Start/Setings/Personal/Buttons and
button 4 will be listed and you can assign any application you want
Rom issues
Hi Developer,
Again the same problem in the rom which i hate the most, it dosent has contact integration
in messages or mails and creates lot of problem when you try to send mail or message to many people.
Every time we need to go to contact select the name and comeback to the message.
Rom looked nice to me as i just kept it for only 30 mins, qwerty keyboard cab didnt work well as after selecting the diamond keyboard it used to return to the default keyboard.
Please try to intergrate the contacts in the sms/mail in your next Rom.

Hi j,
Are you not able to locate the contacts from your SIM? Is that what you mean?
If YES, here's what you can do:
1) Goto Contact, Menu -> Filter -> SIM contacts. With this you would be able to see all your SIM contact.
If you want to copy the same to your phone, then follows
2) Menu -> Select Contact -> All
3) Menu -> Copy contacts -> To Contacts
If NO, please help me understand the scenarion you are facing so that I can help.

Hello My Friend,
Recomendation well taken. Will cook it in the next release that I am preparing with the lasted build for WM 6.5.5[23563].
On the Youtube, does it become unresponsive OR does not start at all. If you can elaborate the issue, I maybe able to fix it sooner.

and there is a strange error that sometimes when i do an action like adding a waetherlocation, it loads the cities, then the city selction dissapears again..

I believe this is M2D isssue. The same problem even comes is you are selecting a program for the launcher. Sometimes the selection disapperas. Let me see the newer versions have a fix for this.
