I used Rom Manager to install bugless beast and in the start up screen it just keeps resetting. I see the android thing being drawn out in animation constantly, and nothing else is happening. What do I do?

Did you do a factory wipe and dalvik cache wipe pryor to installing to stop the boot loop take the battery out did you back up your nand prior to the flash if so take the battery out then get into recovery and restore your nand backup

hands down the best post i've come across on xda... also, very true.
best thread title i've come across although unfortunate.
I used unrevoked 3. That's all. I apparently should have NAND it first, I'm assuming. What should I do to get my old rom back?

Boot into recovery (down volume + power).
Wipe call caches and factory reset
Flash Buglessbeast

Have you consulting the wiki that toast has compiled? The link is found in the first sticky post in this EVO Dev forum.

Hopefully you did a Nandroid backup. Just factory wipe/dalvik/cache and restore.
If you didnt, dunno what to tell ya man. Better hope there's a trick to it, maybe use the search function.

what rom were you using previously and is the zip for that rom still on your sd?
The previous rom I was using was the stock rom. I did hit backup rom when I was installing it. Now the system has finally started up, but now I'm trying to go through the google settings, and it keeps crashing the phone on step three, and I can't work my way around it, unfortunately.

stock rom with root? do you have the zip file for the stock rom?
did you try what others suggested and wipe dalvik/cache/data factory reset and try re-flashing bugless or any other rom on your sd?

here a few steps you can try. Assuming that since you was able to use Rom Manager to install Bug's that meant you already have clockwork flashed and working correctly if not you won't be able to use Rom Manager to flash anything.
Steps if you are lucky and still have either damage or any other rom's zip file still on you sd card, if you do not have it, i recommend open up your back cover, take out the micro sdcard and connect it to your pc so that you can download and transfer a ROM that you want to use then put the sdcard back on your phone then follow the steps below.
1) power off you phone. if you can't use the power button then kill the battery.
2) hold the down volume button and the power button while booting up your phone until you see the Fastboot menu before letting those buttons go.
3) you should see a menu with a few choices on it. use the volume key to navigate down/up to where it say Recovery then press the power button to choose it. If everything is working in your favor, your phone should now boot into a black screen with ClockworkMod Recovery xxxxx as your title.
4) from here, you will be using the up/down volume button to navigate to wipe data/factory reset then push the power button to pick it. it will make you scroll down to yes on the next screen to be sure so follow the instruction.
5) after it finished wiping, you may also want to do the same thing with wipe cache patition as well to be sure.
6) if you are on any other menu other than the one with the ClockworkMod title at this point. please go back to it.
7) now pick install zip from sd card and pick the one you want to flash and with much luck you would be up and running in 10 minutes.
good luck.
ps: if you need help or step by step instruction you can email me and will gladly wipe my damn phone and go through it with you. lol seem I love all the ROM from all these developers too much that I pretty much do this at least 5 times a day.

Thank you so much. I was able to restore my phone. My only issue I'm having now is that I've looked high and low, and for some reason I can't root to the nand because I think I downloaded the last OTA. =/
You might want to check out this thread if you haven't yet http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=721055 it looks to be pretty helpful
Hi guys, I rooted my phone using z4root. I used titanium back up and set set to factory thing. and then i used one click lag fix the newest version and did one click lag fix v1+ and as soon as i did that my phone rebooted. but ive waited for more than 5 minutes and my screen is still black. and four bottom keys are lit. and galaxy s logo and sprint logo did show up but its still black....
so i read some things on forums and it said just take out battery and re insert it
and turn on. i did that and is still black.
omg. did i just brick my phone? i dont know what to do.
help!
The lag fix IS NOT for the Epic, I repeat IS NOT for the Epic. Odin your phone back to stock and start again.
how do i odin back?
You need to learn to search in the future, but here you go
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853209&highlight=ODIn
my epic 4g is 2.1 eclair does this matter?
No
Also don't make useless polls
sorry i was new and didnt know what that was
and thanks for your help
No problem, just remember to search before you flash/install anything that doesn't say it's for the Epic because I'm sure you don't want to have to go through this again.
sorry but whats the difference between ODEX version and DEOdexed version?
That would've been a perfect question to search to find the answer on, but the only difference is that DEODEX is if you want to install themes
i didnt do the odin thing but i did recovery thing and my phone became alive again. i did factory reset thing.. thank you. thank you!
Hi all.
I'm really sorry if this has been covered before - I've searched but found nothing specific, and I'm at work just to make it trickier.
I was on T-Mobile UK stock ROM until lunchtime today, at which point I followed the instructions from this thread to upgrade to CM7 RC0. Following the upgrade, I used Titanium backup to restore my apps and data. Everything looks okay, but I keep getting random force closes for android.process.media. Can somebody please help me with this - it seems to come up when I try to change any sound option, but also in the market when loading my apps.
Factory reset
something u restored from ur stock apps backup is messing with ur current settings .i recommend u to factory reset and then install apps carefully (only user apps) dont go and even try those system apps ...
I'm no advance user yet.. but hey we both got cm7 at same day day and same time ..
i'm just learning ..if u still need help i'll be glad to help
I might have made it very much worse
after reading a bit more, I opted for clearing my cache in recovery mode... that made it worse, leaving me stuck at the M logo. Other posts pointed me in the direction of reflashing the SBF file and starting again, but this left me with a looping MotoBlur animation after flashing the sbf. recovery mode is now not getting past the ! triangle.
My phone appears to be a brick, and I know I've just done something stupid. Is there anyone who can offer any advice? Please?

OK when you see the ! triangle to get into the recovery menu you need to press the volume up button & volume down button at the same time (this is for froyo 2.2 - if still on eclair 2.1 then just touch the bottom right hand of the screen) then you will access the recovery menu.
From there you can do a factory reset & then hopefully it should boot up OK.
Just beware that your battery may be getting low on charge & this makes it a bit trickier but not impossible.
Thanks. I figured out the volume buttons to access the recovery menu, managed to re flash the sbf file, then left it to reload cm7 in the morning. Thanks for all your help, panic mode is neither my favourite, nor my best.

I had the *exact* same issue over the weekend. Was able to fix it by following the installation instructions again. Glad you got your phone working again too, I know I'll be very careful with TB in the future.
But... Does anyone know why a (simple?) cache wipe gets you stuck at the M logo (2ndInit still works, but nothing after that)
Phone was being used by an employee but I had rooted it and was running Skyraider very happy with it. The guy left and took the memory card. I had to do a reset to get his gmail out of the phone but I forgot to do it through recovery and did it from the phone menu. Now the phone will not do 3g or internet and when I go into recovery I get cwm 5.xxx but none of the functions will work, I just get the hat with the circle and have to pull the batt to get out of it. Tried Rom manager and it just Fcs, Tried unrevoked and it never saw the phone.
Im stuck and need to get this thing working for work. Please help
To select options in recovery, use the optical button not the power button.
Damn using the Incred2 all this time I forgot about that button. Any idea if doing a reset from the phone menu would cause the lack of internet.

That's fairly unusual but I've never performed that within the rom. You should be fine once you wipe and flash another rom.
maybe the guy turned off the mobile network. You could always flash a new ROM or reflash the current one and have everything back to normal hopefully
Hey all you Rogers LGOG fans,
The wait is over. We are releasing our carrier/bloat-free LGOG Stock 4.0.4 ROM. This ROM has a few other modifications as well, which you can find below however, this ROM is essentially stock, flashable, updateable to JB(Pending bootloader unlock retention) and bloat-free. This ROM is also rooted so you won't have to do it again. Below you will see my changelog and development notes. Before we start going flash happy, I would like to extend a warm thanks to Nottach for his "The Base ROM" on the AT&T variation of our device, which was used as a base for this ROM, as well as the entire Team Codefire for unlocking our bootloader and getting the first CMW on the device. Now the fun stuff:

I want to say yes that it's cross carrier compatible but I can't for sure. PM me you're rooted and unlocked and maybe we can take a look at a few things to see.
Dumb question probably, put zip in /sdcard
booted into CWM,
flashed from internal storage
went through aroma, rebooted
still seeing the lg logo at and don't see any changes of the base
wondering if i did something wrong?
let me know and thanks for the time and effort you put into this

Hmm that's strange for sure. Verify that you're carrier apps are gone. If they are then let me know and something didn't take with the bootscreen. If you still have them, reflash with the method above and let me know if it worked the second time around.
I'll be away from the computer for a couple hours. Talk to you soon!
Oooo! Very excited for this. This is one of the times where I hit download then started reading what all was included.
Flashing momentarily. Thanks guys!

I'm in a similar boat unfortunately. I just freshly unlocked it with the freegee one click app since I wanted to support this kind of stuff when I shut down it started up again right away as if I had pressed restart instead of shutdown. It briefly showed the lg logo then turned off the screen then brought it back on but only displaying black. That's where it sat until I did the equivalent of a battery pull by holding the power button for a really long time. I started it up again, this time holding volume up as well as power and got to fastboot and from there to the recovery. Flashed after that, no problems came up. Then it did the same thing it did the first time with the lg logo, screen off for a second, then black.
What now? o_0
I've already tried flashing it again over top of it so now I'm going to give restoring from backup a shot.
I'll let you know how that goes.
EDIT: Hmm... not good. I can attempt to restore but I get a MD5 mismatch.

Bleh. Hmm... think we both could have, by some coincidence, had a bad download? I was going to try and flash it again but sideloading the zip this time but I switched to a new computer recently and need to set up adb and stuff again. The other thing I was wondering too was about wiping the data partition. This was brought on by this step in the unbricking instructions you linked me to.

I'm coming to this phone from a nexus which was dead simple and straight forward when it came to partitions and having an internal sd and just regular internal memory. This phone just has internal memory, right? So wiping data is going to wipe everything everything, right?
Updated Zip
Seems the unlocked Rogers boot image is causing some grief - I didn't seem to run into this issue on mine. I flashed through CWM that came with freegee. I have updated the zip file with the original freegee unlocked boot image which should solve the problem. The new zip is uploading now and will be ready shortly, I've gone and taken down the previous build and apologize for the inconvenience.

Hmm... I may be a while. It seems I can't even get into recovery now. I don't know how that happened since I could last night. Is there a way to push the phone into recovery mode by way of adb?
Crap, now I'm starting to actually get scared since I can't seem to get into anything.
First off thank you for all your work! This is awesome!
I flashed the rom with TRWP and everything went smoothly, it reboots fine. However it doesn't appear to actually do anything. Everything on my phone is the same. Even the rogers bloat apps are still there. I put the zip on /sdcard and flashed from there.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Haha, yup. That's definitely happened to me before too. I'm just in the process of using the kzd tool. It gives me a runtime error right away though, but it doesn't seem to stop if I don't click it. I'm going to try letting it keep running and see what happens.
EDIT: Aaaaaand we're back! Up and running again but it looks like root is gone and bootloader is relocked as expected. Time to try again!
