Hi!
I have a strange problem with my new Touch Pro 2. It happens in the following situation:
1.) Playing music via the Touch Flo Music Tab with headphones inserted.
2.) While the music is still playing I switch off the display via the ON/OFF button.
3.) Problem: The music continues for 5-45 seconds, then it stops shortly, maybe it comes again for a few seconds, then it finally stops.
4.) When I switch on the display again, the SD card is gone. I cannot further play the song and in the settings menue I see the message "the sd card is not installed".
5.) Restarting the device brings back the SD card. (Problem can be reproduced by the steps 1-3.)
No further complaints with the SD card. Hardreset did not help. It does not happen when I use the Windows Media Player in the above setting. If I do not use the headphones, then this problem does not happen. With the TP2 the music does not continue via speakers, when you switch off the display, but when I switch on the display again, the card is still there in this scenario. Problem only occurrs with headphones inserted. So far I found no other TP2 user sharing the same problem :-(

Hello!
I've experienced this problem before:
when I add some mp3 files to a memory card (using usb card reader), Audio Manager finds songs just fine, however once I click on any of the songs from libriary, after 5 seconds of doing nothing I see a white screen with list of running programs to chose to kill. I have to remove memory card out of the phone and then chose and close audio manager (twice) in order to bring phone to life. Otherwise I have to reboot it.
Before I was suspecting mp3s, maybe they were broken, but today, when this happened, I removed all newly added mp3s and left these that were before but this problem stayed.
Last time I had this problem I had to reformat memory card, no matter what I added on it Audio Manager would freeze whole phone...
Anyone knows why this happening?
Thank you.
Hey, i've only ever noticed this when i've got lots of other stuff open and Audiomanager cant handle the MP3 aswell, or when i'm trying to play 320kbps mp3's.
Yes, that would make sence - not enough free ram, however in my case, this happens even after reboot and last time with 128kbps files...
Hi.
My Desire is now a couple of weeks old, and so far I'm loving it. But I've bumped into a weird and really annoying problem. Occasionally it stops play any kind of music (ringtones, mp3s, etc). Videos stop working too. Unmounting/Remounting and/or powering off/on the phone SOMETIMES works, but not always, and before long, it returns to the state where no music can be played. It worked perfectly the first week or so, but then this happened.
I use a 8Gb Transcend MicroSD card in it. But it can't really be the card (at least 100%.) As it is ONLY the music (and video files), mp3 still show up on the player, all tags and album art show up properly. Camera works. and so does downloading and using different files (PDFs, roms for emulators etc.) everything else works, but when it's time to output something that makes a sound, it doesn't work. Not with built-in music player, not with 3rd party apps or widgets. (tried several Video Player, Ringdroid and MixZing come to mind).
Strangely, "Musical Lite" plays the piano sounds ok, but I'm assuming it has it's own playback engine/decoder.
I'm assuming anything that uses the internal APIs for sound does not work.
I can connect the phone to a computer, mount the SD card and play the videos/music just fine (and access all other card content).
I have an EU version of Desire:
Model A8181
firmware 2.1-update1
Kernel 2.6.29-97da29ed
Build 1.15.405.4 CL155070 release-keys
I'd appreciate any pointers or suggestions of what to try/test/tell.
EDIT: Just to clarify. It's only music. Sound effects (from keys for example) work all the time, calls work as supposed. It's only music (incl. ringtone) that doesn't work at all.
Anyone? I've tried removing and re-inserting the sd card, but it doesn't help. Also as built-in ringtones do not work either, it is probably not the card at fault.
have you checked the ringer volume and the media volume in settings. otherwise get it replaced or repaired under warranty
Every separate volume is set to full. I forgot to say that everytime I try to access a music file (player, ringdroid. But not in settings when selecting ringtone, or when the phone should actually ring) I get an error "unable to play this type of music file". Videos don't give that error, they just don't work. No errors.
Hi,
I have some problems with headphone.
1- If I didn't start the htc's music player when the phone started, the headphone is not functional. I mean, If I press play button of the headphone, the music app doesn't play. In any case, I have to start music app first time.
2- The headphone button control or the music app isn't very responsive. When I press next or previous button, it delays about 1 sec.
3- When the headphone is plugged in, if you close and restart the phone, the phone don't recognize the headphone and you have to plug it in again. I had some funny also shameful moments with this issue. I had supposed that the sound was coming from the headphone, but it was coming from the speaker of the phone
Does anyone have these problems?
I'm using dj droid's rom. But afaik, the stock rom has some of these issues, too.
Regards.
Well I don't have problem 3, i can't test the others since my headphone doesn't have those functions.
Regarding problem 2, do you maybe have a lot of music on it and are you then playing it at random?
Yea, I'm using shuffle option. But there only 8-9 albums in the sd card. the sd card is class6 16gb. Maybe I should use the kernels with oc.
try playing just one album in normal order and see if it works any faster.
I have been using Desire's mp3 player to play songs which I saved on the stock 4g card that came with the phone and just the first day of using my phone, I came across a few problems.
1. While listening to a track, the song stops playing out of nowhere.
2. When I connect the phone to PC via USB cable, sometimes, Desire screen will say "SD card unavailable because it is being used as USB stoorage. Disconnect USB to access SD card" - but funny thing is a thing will pop up on my computer screen prompting me to open the SD card folder and the folder is openable. And after I unplug the USB cable, all songs from my one playlist is GONE.
3. After I uploaded songs to the SD card, I can only find some uploaded songs in Desire while some disappeared, but when I check the files under "MP3 folder" after connecting the phone to my PC, the "disappeared" songs are there!
I try a couple things like unplugging at Charge only before disconnecting phone from my computer; turning off the phone, taking out the battery and re-inserting the SD card before turning on the phone again; re-format the SD card - but none solve above problems.
I have this Desire for only about 4 days, can someone tell me if this is a SD card or phone problem?
I have GV 2.5 on my Desire and when I turn music player to listen music it works fine for like 5 min and after that, every minute music stops for 1-2 sec and then continues playing. Then little later, commands stop working, screen wont turn on or off etc... after some time commands might work but shortly after that they are again dead. And after all that, next thing is self restart.
I use BT headset so I checked it also on wired headset and same thing happens. Also tried several different music players and updated to latest radio image. I'm using A2SD so maybe its something wrong with my sd card. If anyone could help i would appreciate it.
Try to reflash, if it doesnt work do a backup of ur SD card and format it
