Well yes, there is definite advantage.
But that does not mean new is always better. You need to find the one that works best for your network.

due to my lost APN settings, what i didnt notice!!
creates a fair bit of bother with t-mobile uk, brings back 3g freeze.
Haven't had a problem yet with it on trial with MoDaCo 2.3 but I'm using Edge. The WiFi signal seems to be stronger. Not sure if there is going to be more power used by this - still checking this to see if power use is higher.

Power consumption seems higher to me (lower battery runtime) but did not do a scientific test. Will go back to previous radio and compare.

It's not too bad - browsing experience is about the same as a Blackberry, but without the clunkiness. E-mail is more than fine and the widgets update well. Calendar keeps updated without a problem. Twitter, and facebook also work well. For most of these, the updates are in the background anyway - except for browsing and so the phone keeps me updated very well.
Don't know if related to this Radio or just a coincidence but flashed it yesterday evening, charged phone till light was green, installed couple of apps in wifi, this morning (7 ours later) 1 third of the battery was already gone.
Reverted to previous Radio version.
Ka.
I rolled back from MoDaCo 2.3 to 2.2 and the radio as well - it seemed like I got about 1.5 days out of the Hero. With the 2.2 and previous radio I got over 2 days.

Hi All,
Reception is good with this ROM but i can't tell the difference between this and the one I had before (1.09.25.23) in terms of battery life.
Version?
In the nbh header I found the following information:
version: 1.86.911.1
lang: KOR
So it doesn't seem to be 1.11.25.01

Thx for any reply.
radio
Flashed this new radio 1.11.25.01, signal is very good, cant really see that much of a difference from 1.10.25.25 radio but will keep on testing, battery life seems to be a bit better, but will test some more.
New radio 1.11.25.01
The famous GPS lag is always present (i think we will must learn to live with it
) sometimes in the middle of a call i loose the signal (i want check it more, but it has happened twice today, tommorow i will have more info), wifi signal is stable and very good, bluetooth is ok , battery is normal, i charge it once every night. its a good radio, better than the older, i hoped that GPS lag would be corrected in this update, but as i see its not just software problem......!!!
Hey,
I downloaded the file and tried to update my radio, but during the update process, the progress remains at 0% and after a couple of minutes, the software says "Connection error".
My phone is not security unlocked, but based on this thread, it isn't necessary.
How can I update it?
Thank you!!!
No need to unlock security, is that mean no need Hard-SPL?

I'm using the radio from it. Btw that rom defaults to Chinese, but u can switch it to English.
These new roms coming out are all similar except for different regions. Your best bet is to use the one closest to your region.

Hard to say yet. I'll have to use it more. Actually the XXJPP radio performed well, just that we all got the feeling it was sucking up more battery.
I'm also looking forward to trying the HK radio (ZU...) and the Southeast Asian Radio (DX...) when they come out.
hmm, could it be that JIT is enabled in the rom...?

It's about the same as (as fast as) JPO. I was on JPO for about a week before flashing to the HK JPD lastnight.
Only big difference (other than the chinese swipe, etc) was MSN messenger. Which I don't recall being installed with JPO.
Haven't been able to download skype either. (couldn't with jpo either). Not showing up on the market.

Not that unusual. At Verizon in the US, a couple of Google apps are replaced with Microsoft ones, e.g. maps and voice search. That's the caveat of an open OS, at least for Google.

Yeah. The app is called 'Messenger'. Has the usual MSN icon. Loading it brings up a 'windows live' splash screen then a 'windows live messenger' login.
That's as far as I've got. Never really used MSN messenger. :/

One thing I can report is that the alphabetical bar in contacts displays all letters from #-A-Z, unlike most European 2.2 builds The bar extends onto the search bar, allowing space for all letters.
Unfortunately Music player still suffers from this issue once you start playing a song. Funny that the height of the items seem to increase, while the height of the alphabetical bar is shrunk slightly, causing letters F, L, R and X to disappear.
Album search from now playing screen also works perfectly (unlike European 2.2)

Whick kernel did you flash? Performance or stable? I don't think the newer kernels by synergye are working with the newer roms by randomblame.
If you chose the performance kernel try with stable one which was working with for jellybean roms. If that doesn't work try kernel 0.2 stable. Keep in mind it may not work due to a few changes synergye made and randomblame needs to update his rom for it to work. I just woke up so I haven't read anything since last night.
On a second note, I haven't used his rom in a while so I don't know if it's rom related or if it's your phone. Make sure the battery cover is placed correctly. If it doesn't hapoen in another rom, well, then it's that rom giving you issues.
Thirdly, check in settings to see if
- go into wifi, hit menu, choose advanced
See if avoid poor connections is ticked. Uncheck it if so.
