Orkut java application not compatible ? - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hi,
I am trying to get the orkut java application installed on TouchHD.
Google shows following requirements
1. A mobile device that supports Java ME (J2ME), MIDP 2.0.
Is the Java runtime installed on HD not at this version ? When I visit m.google.com/orkut
it should provide a download link if the phone is compatible. However I just get a link to go to their wap site.
Has anyone faced this problem ? Incase the java version is not upto this requirement is there a way to install it just as we install the .Net framework?
Thanks for your help in advance

Go to Google mobile page and there you should get the options to download all Google mobile applications.

Java XLet

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a jvm for wm 6 which supports xlets. They are part of the CDC toolkit...
I don't want to have to use midlets as it is quite a big process to convert an existing swing program into a midlet.
Has anyone been able to do this?
Thanks
Edit: I just discovered that esmertec jbed is supposed to support cdc and should support xlet i guess...
but when I run my xlet all I get is a 'File error (???)'
I also know that others have this problem as was posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=339579&page=7
But I don't think they were resolved.
Bump:
Has no one ever tried to get xlets working on their phone?
Ok, I found a java manager called CrEme.
It's great it lets you use any standard CDC java app which supports standard swing/awt. So you can instantly port any java app directly to your phone.
XLets/Managed aplications still don't seem to work but given that it runs normal apps, Im not too worried
I don't have any links for it but I've got the files if anyone wants them.
dear user, what does that all have to do with HRDF (Hermes ROM Development Forum)? why don't you ask this kind of questions in GDs (General Discussions)?

Sun Java Wireless Client

Hi friends,
Does anybody know where to download SunJavaWirelessClient as cab or as exe?
Help please...
Very nice emulator according to its overwiew (http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/docs/sjwc-2.0-web/docs/overview.html). There is a cab included in Sun Wireless Toolkit 3.0 beta (I've uploaded it to http://rapidshare.com/files/256888282/sun-java-cldc-emu.cab). I don't know how to run midlets on it - if you figure it out, please post instructions here.
Thanks but this is not the one I have in Dutty-WM6.5r6.
In this you can not install anything & it is beta. I think there may be some problems.
Where is the download link in that page bro, I couldn't find it.
The JVM came with Wireless Took Kit is to demo the ODD (on device debug) feature.
For now, to get a better working JVM from Sun on WM platform, I suggest you get the JavaFX developer runtime Sun's website. Just search JavaFX Mobile in google and you can find it

Install Windows Mobile SDK without Visual Studio

I'm going to start with why, then how.
Why: I use the open source SharpDevelop to write Windows Mobile .NET applications. Some of the managed libraries that are included in Windows Mobile are not usable without the Windows Mobile SDK files. Microsoft's SDK Installer checks for Visual Studio, and if it not installed, will NOT install the SDK.
How: Download the SDK, open a command prompt, cd to where the SDK was downloaded to and type (making appropriate changes):
Code:
msiexec /a "MSI File.msi" /qb TARGETDIR="Full path to target directory"
For example, lets say that the file is called "WM6 SDK.msi" (which it is not), you downloaded it to "C:\WM SDKs\" and you want to extract it to "C:\WM SDKs\WM6 SDK\", you would type:
Code:
cd C:\WM SDKs
msiexec /a "WM6 SDK.msi" /qb TARGETDIR="C:\WM SDKs\WM6 SDK\"
The DLLs you need to add a references in your project will be under a folder called Designtimereferences
Anyone find this useful?

I doubt it ... I use SharpDevelop. I have a legal copy of Visual Studio 2003 + 2005, but I use SharpDevelop.
SharpDevelop
Does sharp develop support Compact Framework 3.5?
What are some advantages to using this?
I normally develop with visual Studio 2008 Professional with the Window Mobile 6 SDK.
Wish I would have know about this sooner.
2008 Standard does not support windows mobile development and pro was kind of spendy.
2005 standard supports it.
<slight rant>
Why microsoft? Why would you require pro to make apps, when you need to gain market share. The other platforms are growing because of the availabilty of apps.
</slight rant>
Sharp Develop DOES support CF 3.5, but you need to install .NET CF 3.5 and .NET CF 3.5 Power Toys on the PC to use it ... See Compact Framework on SharpDevelop Wiki.

Java development

Hi All!
I don't know if i am posting on the correct board... but this is the place i think it is suitable for posting my problem.
I am doing PPC application development using J2ME.
However, I found that to run the application, the ppc need a java midlet manager to run my .jar application.
I wonder is there any way for me to pack my classes and src code into a exe or cab file , so that the user can just download and install my app in a few steps, instead of using a midlet manager such as JBed or Jeodek to run it?

WCE platform added.
Got error "Load applications list error..."
Some minutes ago I installed 'wAppStore.cab'. Basically it works on my Windows Embedded CE 6.0 unit (.NET CF 2.0 is default, but I upgraded to .NET CF 3.5, hence I don't know whether .NET CF 2.0 is enough), but I got error "Load applications list error..."
This app can be installed on My Storage (Omnia i900), right?
Error "Load applications list error..." still persists
I newly installed wAppStore (2012-02-06 19:28), the error previously reported still occurs. BTW: after 1st run, the xml-file got created.
