first of all im sorry if this issue seems to be redundant to all....
im a bit confused to some of the post on this forum regarding this issue...
(so please bear with me...especially to the mods out there)
i do have this battery and it seems that it wont even last for atleast a day...
is this normal for this brand of battery or 4800mAh battery?
how long is the normal standby time for 4800mAh battery?
i also have an original 1620mAh battery and it even last longer than my 4800mAh battery..
can anyone here help me on what to do?
is there anyone in here can prove that 3200 or 1620 is much much better than 4800?
and one more question...i also have a 2 spare 1620mAh battery....
one of it turns off at 75% the other at 21%....
i've tried resetting them both but no of luck..still the same..
is there any other possible way for me to use them and drain them up to 0% or atleast 10%?
thanks in advance!
3200 will last twice as long as 1620; 4800 three times.
However, this is given they are all the same manufacturer. Some batteries are better than others. Cheap eBay batteries are known to give problems - however I have had good as well as bad one's from eBay.
Also, batteries will wear out after a while - I think suggested time is a year or two.
I have four 1620's which last from 50 minutes to 3 hours (constant useage with backlight on). My 3200 lasts 6 hours.
I find that whichever (fully charged) battery is in Uni when I upgrade ROM, will give accurate reading. The reading becomes inaccuate (turning off a x%) when I swap for different battery.
ROM Upgrade & battery
so your saying that when i upgrade or change rom..
1. the battery should be at 100% charge..?
2. and the battery that i used when upgrading should be the one to be used until it drains to 0%? coz when i replace the battery thats the time it will shut off at X%?
is my understanding correct?
if i may ask...what brand of battery would you recommend for a 4800mAh?
and would you recommend 4800mAh?
ive seen DUKE NUKEM's post..he's selling batteries right?im planning to buy 2 pcs of 4800mAh....but the problem is i dont have a PAYPAL account and im a bit confused coz some say 3200 is much better than 4800..and some say 1620 is the best...
thanks for your help sir jonny....
Yes, you are correct.
I don't have a 4800, so can't comment.
Anyone else got a recommendation?
The main reason that people prefer one battery over another is due to the size. Most people seem to like the 1600 because the Universal is fat enough without having a huge battery sticking out the back! Other people may be biased toward a certain capacity because they bought a duff battery.
Personally I'll use a 1600 and carry a spare sometimes... unless I know I'm going to need juice (for a plane trip etc) and I'll stick in my 3200.
what to do on batteries shutting off at x%?
sir jonny do you know a way on how to correct those batteries that shuts off at x%?
coz what im doing is
1.charge the battery to full
2.put an adhesive tape to cover the second connector of the battery
3.then drain the battery using my UNI or using 3 LEDs...
4.charge the battery again to full
the problem is that it still shuts off at x%...
some claims that this corrects the problem..
am i doing the right way or is there any possible way?
ive seen some threads regarding this issue but in my case it dont work..
ive got 3 pcs of 1620mAh with this problem..
thanks again for your help...
Did you charge it with your original charger? If not, you can't get 4800 mah.

im always using the original charger....but if your talking about the initial charging prior to shipping of the battery...i cant answer that because i bought that battery from a friend...and it is a second hand battery..but he told me that he just used the battery once and havent asked about what charger he used.
I have done some efforts regarding battery capacity measurement Just lookup this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5558383#post5558383
I would suggest stay away from the Sino Cameron batts. They simply suck. I have one 1650 and another 4800. Both not very up to stretch, especially the 4800. By all means it does NOT last three times as the standard batt. I'd say perhaps just about two times in reality. Perhaps not. I just keep seeing the batt level dropping fast. Plus the build quality is a real issue. Somehow the 4800 gets too fat and the batt cover cannot completely fit in the slot. Three times the size but just a little power boost. It's cheap, but now I regret having wasting money on them...
Then I switched to Momax. It's just a standard 1500. But it shines! Battery drains pretty slowly and stably (no sudden dropping). It's a bit more expensive than those crappy Camerons, yet it's worth the extra dollars.
Yes, right
It´s always better to go for the original one

If you want a good battery for your Universal, I will suggest you to buy a 3200 mAh battery from ebay, it's the best
Which brand of 3200 batt do you recommend?
I have 2 similar 3200mah batteries but to speak frankly, I used them mainly at home and when I go out I take 2 1620mah batteries with me. The 3200mah is simply too huge & heavy - since the Uni is a big phone, people may find it funny if they see the overal size especially when you are putting it near your cheek when receiving/making calls! You can check this link - the seller also sells cheap 1620mah:

The 1800mAh isnt easy to find ... i think its the best Batterie in the moment. If HTC make a extanded batterie kit ... buy it! I have a Startrek with new Coverer and the Quality is very high!
Do you have a link or a pic of the battery? why the extanded covers sucks can you explain that?

you destroy your phone's beauty and also many times the covers are not exactly the same color but enough in order to see the differece also many times they dont completly fit

My friends and I are using the 1800mAh batteries from this seller http://search.stores.ebay.com.au/SO...dgetsQQfsooZ2QQfsopZ2QQsaselZ30323434QQsofpZ0
Comparing to my one year old 1200mAh original battery the results were obvious. I could get more than 90 hours of standby with a few mins of call each day. Something I couldn't have thought of with a PocketPC phone.
It's been about 5 months since my purchase, the battery is still good. I heard from others that non-genuine battery tend to have shortened lifespan in just a few months.
Only about 3 to 5 grams heavier and 1mm thicker (which leaves no space between the back cover and the battery) if you do notice these minute differences. It's crucial that the battery won't make your Prophet any thicker!
My only complain was, if you asked, that it took almost a week for the delivery. Otherwise I'm happy with it.

@roughneck57 : sorry to hear.. especially after purchasing 2. does the battery heat up at all?

have you contacted extremedeals, how are they handling it ?

forgot to say, battery is not heating up at all - I left it on charge for 3 or 4 hours last night and nothing - however, residual charge is actually powering the PDA so there is life in there. Must be the chip that reports on battery condition and charge etc.
Also, I have tried both in 3 different PDA (m600's) and same problem. One phone has an 1800mah battery purchased from ebay and that looks exactly the same but works fine - so it's not as if the PDA can't handle non-standard size.
Hope this helps.

Before you dive in for a 3rd party batt ...
I read an article sometime ago comparing batteries. forgive me for not being able to remember the source (or sponsors for that matter) for the article, but HTC original batt is supposed to be of high qualities having effective charge capacity of 90% or so. 3rd party may claim higher capacity but their effective capacity is can be about 80% or lower.
This chart might be useful

I have also read this. Unless the battery shows a significant increase in capacity (one of those 2500-3500mah ones which require a different back panel) then the likelihood is that you will have worse battery life compared to your original HTC battery.
this is for General subForum, sorry m8 nothing with development
I bought the Mugen 3200 battery,it is bigger and comes with a new back panel but now instead of charging by noon I spent the whole day trying to get the battery to drain ,best i got was 40% after more than 20 hours of usage.

Im also interested where you've bought that batt.. Does it make the phone a bit bulkier? Since you said that it came with a new back-cover.. i suppose it adds to the back of the phone which is fugly.. for me at least.. Anyone tried any of the "normal" batteries and can provide feedback? Or anyone knows from where can i buy an original one? Im fine with that as long as the price doesnt go up from 25e...
Sorry for the late reply , I got it from mugs website for 79 dollars , it does make the phone a bit bigger with a lump on the back ,( this also makes most if not all cases useless ) but it is not as bad as I thought it would be from the pics and the performance.is much better than I.expected .it is now 9 : 22 pm and I have 66 % of my battery remaining I used to get this percentage by noon .

Hi Folks,
I recently purchased a HTC Wildfire S. I am quite disappointed by the battery performance. The dialer and android system always shows 49 % usage. Is it a bug in GB or is this normal behavior ?
I feel my battery drains out very fast in a day. I usually do a 20-30 mins of call/day. About 10-20 Mb of internet data via 2G. But at the end of the day around 8-8.30 PM my battery is almost at 25-30% or sometimes less than that. I have disabled all the vibrating notifications. Wi-Fi and bluetooth OFF, I have installed juice defender which shuts the data off when the phone is idle. Though there is some improvement after this, i still feel the battery is going down.
When googled about this, everyone had almost the same complaint. And the only suggestion was to have an extra 1500 or 1900 mAh battery. Now which is the recommended battery without making any change to the hardware etc
coz i see lot of them taking a 3500 mAh battery with extra cover and changing the contacts and all. I dont want to do all those but just to improve my battery performance. Can you help me out ?
I use this battery :
http://www.batterychampion.fr/produ...rtmentProductId/76703263/shopGroupId/95658473
I can use my device almost during 3 days without any charge : calls, sms, internet and games.
Its very large. I wanted a small phone...
The 1500mAh Replacement Battery For HTC HD7 fits the Wildfire S and gives you an approximate 20-30% boost in battery capacity.
Edit: Nvm, never bought a new battery lol
and what about 1900? any suggestion?
and btw, 1500 and 1900 battery has same sizes as the original? only the 2200 and 3500 needs a new back cover ,right?
the only extended battery worth getting is the Cameron Sino 2200mah version. Yes, it does make you phone quite a bit thicker...but it's the only one i've found that does what it's supposed to do.
I tried first a 3500mah version, but after a couple of weeks it lost it's ability to hold charge almost completely, so it was actually worse than the stock battery.
Next was the eCell 2350mah version (Gold), this didn't last much longer than the stock battery either, although it did give a litte extra, but no where near the 2x capacity of the stock, as it should have been. (i think i got like an extra hour or two oout of it)
and finally....the CS 2200mah version.....where I usually get around 8 hours tops on the stock battery (i leave things syncing every hour, quite alot of texts every day, a fair bit of internt use too), I can now use my phone for 2 full days straight, and by night-time on the second day it's finally down to around 10-15% battery left, so go mad playing games for an hour or two to really run it down to nothing, then leave it on charge over-night.
I would highly reccommend this battery, it's the only one you'll ever need, and you can actually make use of the "smart" features of your phone....I can actually use programs that need GPS without having to worry if my battery will die, leaving me stranded
it only costs around £10 on ebay.....
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150696338487
the thickness is something you get used to, and some people even find it a bit more comfortable to hold....so it's not necessarily a bad thing.
A review of the Cameron Sino.
It comes as advertised.

I got the Cameron Sino Tech 2200 mAh about a week ago.
I cant give an accurate review of the battery but I've found that its well worth the extra size for the extended life, i get a couple of days out of it now.
Its cheap as well and now I have a spare battery so if I know i'm gonna be away from a charger I can take the original battery with me.

Like other people have seen (d33ps1x for example), the Cameron Sino 2200 mAh is the best bang for the buck. Even if it makes your phone "fat" it is a real power improvement.
The ECell Gold 2430mAh has barely 1600mAh inside so it's obviously false advertising when they say that they use Li-Polymer. I have one and ordered the second unit because even if it doesn't correspond to what's promised, it still gives a nice boost comparing to stock.
I'm also curious how different the two batteries can be. The second one will arrive this week. I will prepare it and test it as soon as I get it in the mail.
All those 1500mAh you can find on eBay are only marginal improvement when comparing to the stock battery. If they can provide 1300-1350mAh then you are a very lucky owner.
There are some amazing batteries out there, but they are too expensive.
I'm talking about Mugen Power Batteries:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/
I had one of their batteries on my HTC Desire and it was something out of other world. If you follow their instructions (that come with the battery) you won't regret buying one. Right now the Wildfire S 1500 mAh is out of stock and will be ready for shipment on the 17th February. This means they're being produced now and who buys them will get brand new batteries, that haven't stayed for months in a warehouse. If they were cheaper I would definitely order one. If Mugen Power announces 1500mAh, they're definitely inside.

I got the battery, it fits, but it's BIG! I got a soft silicone case and it works. It stretches and fits fine, it protects the phone without a back cover.
The battery is a definite improvement over the original.
Hey guys I just saw a 3500mAh battery for SGS2 on ebay. Is it safe to use such battery? I mean it won't harm the phone, will it? :O
Probably won't harm the phone, no.
I bought a 3500mAh obscurely branded Chinese battery in mid-December. Tried it out for almost two weeks, a bunch of charge/discharge cycles & estimated its real capacity was around 1900mAh. It also used to heat up a lot on recharge (mid-high 40's Celsius, which isn't normal when the phone isn't being used whilst charging).
I took it back, got a refund & bought an original Samsung 2000mAh battery. Hasn't missed a beat, is obviously close to its advertised capacity given I get around 20% more use out of a charge than I do with a 1600mAh battery.
Obviously your mileage may vary if you buy one of these (you might have a better experience than I did), just thought I'd let you know about my experience.

Battery Life
I am still using the 1650 mAh battery (stock) for my S2.
I am really facing some battery issues. Its charging almost all day !
Yes I am using 3G all day and WiFi HotSpot too. But use wifi at home. Thats when I get good battery life. Any better way to conserve some battery ?
Any tips might help
Thanks

well i an getting with the original battery 24H of usage.
with the 3500mah i am getting 60H of usage... so my 3500 is truly 3500mah!
the language is hebrew.
i use congnition rom 1.51 and siyah kernel.
So, where can I see a trustful review on batteries for SGS2? What is the most extended one?
It's really frustrating that my current stock battery is only enough for 2 hd video view (4-5 hours).
Also, the higher the mAh value the more battery lifetime is, right?
I would really want to buy 3500 mAh, but it costs so little.
And the official Samsung variant that offers the longest lifetime of a battery for SGS2 is this one, maybe Mugen 3500 mAh is the best choice out there?

Really now, if it was possible to manufacture a battery having more than double the capacity of the stock battery while taking up the same volume, don't you think the megacorporate Samsung would buy that technology immediately in order to use it themselves ? "Too cheap to be true" is valid even here; most knock-off batteries either are fake ("9999 mAH SUPER EXTRA" sticker over the original rating), or will degrade quickly in time leaving you with a dud.
Since there are already fake electronic components...
... why not fake and cheap batteries too, certainly seems to be a high demand for them.
a. it is not the same volume! in is twice as much as the original.
b. the i9100 has a circuit that allows a slow stable charge rate so i dont think it will damage the battery.
As well as being made of inferior materials, not being subjected to the same QC, not having the fuel gauge chip present in original Samsung batteries, you pretty much get what you pay for.
My advice would be to avoid non-original batteries altogether, and given a 2000mAh original battery will cost around the same as one of these 3000mAh+ batteries with all their problems & poor life, it's a no brainer.
Stick with Samsung batteries.
fuel gauge chip?
i would like to see that chip in an any cellphone battery please.
If you're not aware of/don't know about the fuel gauge chip in original SGS2 batteries, you've probably been living under a rock since the phone was released

well i think that you misunderstood the meaning fuel gauge.
there is no chip in the battery that is in charge of the fuel gauge.
furthermore there is no use of recalibrating the battery in out i9100 model.
all you gave me is a link you Google...
please... show me that chip! i would like to learn something new about lithium batteries..
Plz can you Possible link topic of the battery

You have a point mate! Thanks
Hi,
I would like to know what is the best battery upgrade. Sometimes i need to use my phone for geocashing for more than two days and it is very boring trying to find time for waiting for charging. So I'm looking for best solution like extended battery or something like that. Size is not important for me, but i want something quality. Can you help me please ?
Thanks
Since size isnt a problem, id say.. get the Mugen 3200mah battery.
The quality is good and it has almost twice the capacity of the original.
Official samsung 2000 mah is pretty good. I get about 30% more usage on a full charge.

I bought a 9.99 3000mah battery from Ebay. Cut a hole in the back of my cover so it would fit. Anyway I'm getting over 36 hours between charge with moderate use. Atm I'm on 55% battery and I'm on 18 hours 16min. Data on. Sync on. half brightness

thanks a lot for you ansvers
I run ICS with the samsung 2000Amh battery .. I get up to almost 3 days with 1 single charge and about 30% usage (calls and msg and whatsapp)
ICS alone is worth alot in getting the battery juice up..
I have just bought this 2600 mAh battery, has anyone had this, or one similar? any good or bad comment on it?

I'm always afraid of buying cheap batteries because I always hear they might explode...
well maybe not so radical about the exploision, everythink can explode, check out this anker battery thread, haha

but what is true and so far my experience is that cheap batteries never performed the advertised capacity, i am talking about few dozens i have purchased...
i have only a suggestion: don't use batteries that gives you with the dock of sgs2

I'm using Dragon ICS with Siyah kernel and I'm now on 32% with 28 hours normal use.
What seemed to help is enable and disable airplane mode 3 times in a row. Read that somewhere on XDA and I dont know why but I'm having a better batterylife since
asysa commanded
Custom Rom and kernel and your battery will last you the whole day, and use sreen brightness at 30%
will a 2000mah original samsung battery fit great with the original back case?
