mobile layout for android devices - About xda-developers.com

I noticed that when if my browser gives iphone user agent string the xda forum will give a nice mobile view
It would be nice if the same can be done for android user agent string as well
Thanks

its not the xda site, its the iPhone's browser, there is a Mobile version currently in development here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540504

Facebook android question

I am reasonably happy with the Android Facebook app though obviously not as good as the iPhone version but my question is for certain features the app takes me to the basic generic Facebook mobile site but can it be made to go to the touch mobile site which I find far better?
touch.Facebook.com
or x.face........

sorry perhaps did not make myself clear is there any way for android Facebook to go to the touch mobile site by default rather than the generic mobile one?

Hulu (yes hulu)

I wast under the impression that with froyo browser and complete flash it was possible to stream hulu on or phones. Is this true?

While Flash is capable of playing content Hulu blocks access by mobile devices. I believe this is because their licensing terms don't allow them to distribute content to anything but PC's.
There's another thread somewhere that details how to get Hulu on your Android device. You basically need a hacked version of Flash (I think) and then a small system tweak to make Hulu's servers think the request is coming from a desktop. I just saw it yesterday. . . .

I don't know about the hacked flash thing but simply changing the user agent doesn't work anymore. It does work for porn sites though fyi.

def about:debug shown here (had to do in first link above) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686765&highlight=hulu
then this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6888650&postcount=139
the hulu app that launches the widget player in the browser works like a charm, but the FULL site still doesn't
christ almighty...
SEARCH
I think you just have to set your browser to desktop mode to view hulu. Type: about:debug In browser, then enter, then look for it in settings.

no. you'll need a hacked flash as well as the ua string change.
I must say, XDA has a beautiful forum search function(thank you xda!). If people just @#(*$# used it sometimes they would have the answer to their own questions 99.99999% of the time.
Just saying..........

when i try to access xda from my tytn11 using opera or IE i get the web version. should i be typing in a diffrent addy?

Web browser options

Trying hard to move from dolphin hd to either stock browser or chrome beta, but they just seem so limited in set up options compared to dolphin.in stock I can't group bookmarks for similar topics into folders,in chrome I can't seem to stop it display mobile pages on spine sites. If any one has made the switch some tips would be great

I use opera mini on 3g as it has great data compression, no flash support however. I use the stock browser on WiFi or if I'm wanting to view a flash site.

SO let me get this right JB has no flash or html5?

Since jb has no flash but i know flash can be installed but i have some questions. I use opera Mini on my tablet but i personally liked the android browser on my mobile as whenever i am planing on doing anything on the web rather than basic stuff (news etc) on my mobile. in fact when I'm at home i just use my PC as i am sure many of you all do the same. (right now my warrantied PC is in for work i got a better deal buying from a retailer but i should have built myself another story...)
This all came about from a meme i was on reddit and for the first time ever i clicked a link and the browser told me i could not view the quick meme page due to the fact that html5 is not supported so no i didn't even see the meme.
So the meat of the issue since the default browser does not have the ability to use html5 will it use flash if installed?
Is their a browser that supports html5 for android?
Is their any info on when or if the default browser will support java?
I have heard many times that chrome will become the default browser (i thought it would be in JB but it doesn't look like it) can chrome use java? i have not tested any mobile browser for features and have not found a chart online just reviews (you should use Firefox for your browser kinda stuff) Just cause i said that
i bet Firefox will be one of the good ones LOL
Personally i like the chrome and the android default browser with tabs idk but it works well on my phone.
Also does
