I will recommend you read the threads from cooked roms (3vo, energy, aleks) there are many inputs there. Also, I think you should test them by yourself since these cooked roms are made by very talented guys in this forum who have different tastes, so...since everyone is kind of picky or not the final answer is the one that you have when you feel comfortable with the rom in your dash.

The difference is more free ram, faster loading, prettier screens, more customization and being able to tell people you got what hasn't been released

I'd go with prettier loading, think the rest is questionable as 6.1 can still be just as pimped have more RAM and can still say "you got what hasn't been released" as 6.1 was never released officialy for the Dash
I'm just oldschool and still prefer 6.1 on both platforms

Oh man, isn't this a device made in China? I saw similar devices here in China. But surprisingly the price of the device is little more than 100$. Besides the specs are somewhat far from promising. I prefer to spend another 100$ to buy one of these devices for which WM6 is available in one way or the other: xda stealth, Imate pdal, imate jaq3. Just a suggestion and not meant to disappoint you.

It does come with WM5 for PPC. I saw totally similar devices only with different brandings. Also they are cheaper than other known WM devices. Have no idea if those devices are licensed by M$ or just a product of reverse-engineering.

the price is 1420 RMB, so it is less than 200$. i think it really is a WM device.

1.)SwiftBLs wwe diamond rom v6.0 lite (most stable, fits all my needs and fast)
2.)Christonges cts light version ( fast and stable but missing some standard tools)
3.) Duttys roms ( fast, but i had the most bugs with, and to much useless stuff)
4.) panoshas light roms ( best average, fast and stable)
Thats only my opinion from testing theese roms, but try by urself.
This has been asked a thousand times and there is no real answer as it is really up to the user.

yet microsoft is not the only company being pointed out for bloatware as you can see.
I think simple and intuitive is much better than what winmo7 looks like, but once again I won't solidify opinion until I am testing it out on a device.

I never said microsoft wasn't a major contributor either, I was just stating that the information you gave was only half of it (unless they of course read the article). So yes microsoft adds bloatware, but so do many others.

I've bought a HTC Desire (A8181) via eBay and they stated that it had Android installed and working. However, instead, it has Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional installed (hooray ). I have been looking around the XDA forums and other forums, but I can't really figure out how to replace WM 6.5 with Android on my HTC Desire. I have seen the possibility of dual boot on SD card, but I really want to get rid of Windows Mobile and fully replace it with an Android platform. My questions are:
1. Is is possible to fully replace WM 6.5 with Android on my HTC Desire?
2. If so, is there a (foolproof ) thread that I can use?

No, it is not possible cause you made an epic win. You bought a fake on eBay. Your next course of action is to report the seller for selling fakes and ONLY if he failed to mention it is a fake in his advertisement.

Its not awful software. It is actually really good software. It gets **** done. fast. Just not alot of apps. thats my only problem with it.
