I have the Tmobile Touch Pro2, and have been using the Stock ROM because none of the other roms have really done what I want yet, but Pandora wasnt working on it(some c++ error), so I flashed it to the OEM HTC Rom, and liking it except one thing.
The home button brings up the start menu, and I hate that. I was wondering if there was a registry hack to make it go to the home screen(TF3D).
Search for and install the Tmobile keyboard fix.
did you read my post? ...obviously not.
I'm trying to get the HOME BUTTON to take me to the Homescreen(with the Clock), not to the start menu.
The Tmobile keyboard fix doesn't have anything to do with it.

hi guys , i know this might seem a strange question but like most my stylus is loose in the holder and i sometimes need to use the keyboard to do most things on the unit and i cant find anywhere that activates the start option on the screen. I have done it by accident once but nothing since. i have checked the manual and it mentions it no where all operations seem to be around the stylus?
does anyone know what key combination it is ?
I have a 02 phone and unlike tmobile which has a one of the 4 buttons on front setup to do this as one of the defaults.
cheers in advance
It should be ctrl+escape on a full keyboard. It might also be enabled by the windows or context menu keys, not sure what your keyboard looks like.
You can use my VJKeypress to get this as well. I think it's keycode 91, not sure, check my website.

Why not assign one of the hardware buttons to do this, each one can have a duel function assigned either a tap or hold, according to the phone, in reality this doesn't work (unless anyone knows different - latest O2 ROM - not messed around with), whatever you set for a tap is also carried accross to the hold function, go to settings and locate the power buttons icon select it, then select the button you want (ok for example) then assign the <Start Menu> from the drop down box, press OK, the device might want a soft reset (mine did when I just tried this), when it comes back up hit the assigned button, and use the four way thumb control to navigate through the menus, it saves sliding out the keyboard and it becoming loose - Mike
cheers for this when i tried to reassign buttons before like the camera it wouldnt let me change them ..i hate the camera button getting accidently caught same as the record one as well.
cheers for the advance will do that would just like to know for my own peace of mind as well how to use the keyboard to do it, it should be possible.
So ive got an Excalibur with NRG's 6.5 build ROM installed
96DPI installed.
ET9 English installed in case it wasnt already.
But the whole time, I can't get functionality out of my Send (Green Phone) Key or my Home key. Now, i thought the keys might have gone out on the phone cuz theyre in the same area and maybe something happend. But... i tried to see if i get any response when pressing these keys through re-keying in buttons for PocketNester Controls. It DID recognize immediately when i pressed both the send key and the home key each. So i know the keys have contact/response, whatever. But I scroll to a contact and hit SEND... nothing. Hit the HOME key at any time and it doesn't send me anywhere.
Any suggestions? I have another dash that is broken and i dissected it a while ago and have some parts if need to swap or check anything, that is possible... but where to start troubleshooting from here?
Thanks for any light you can shed on my issue!!
try flashing to a new rom like ookba's 6.5 and see if you still have the problem, if so change the keyboard pcb
I apologize if this is in the incorrect area, but I was able to put 2.1 eclair on my HTC Fuze with no problem and have been searching around trying to resolve an issue.
Basically I was trying to import contacts from the sim card and couldn't figure it out. On another forum they said I was to press the "menu" button and it would bring up a selection box to give some options to allow an import.
So I go to the phone and get to the contact page, but there is no way to pull up the "menu" as far as I can tell. I tried all the physical buttons and holding on many spots on the screen with no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas or is this something I should be avoiding since this is so new?

HTC Fuze (AT&T)
The menu button is the HOME button on htc fuze just the little house sometimes u have to press it twice or trice because the capacitive drivers arent working properly
Apologies!
Right after I wrote the response I figured that out. Thanks for the quick reply.
Hey everyone!
This may seem a tad bit of an odd question but follow me here. My touchscreen is currently just...dead. have an RMA in but in the meantime ive gotten pretty good at getting around just using the keyboard. Problem is I cant seem to find any way to select the two options at the bottom that i would normally just touch when a popup comes up. ive tried to hit enter and ok along with a ton of other keys but nothing seems to work. for example right now im on the carrier selection screen for NRG rom and cant obviously touch "next" to proceed. what really blows is when i see an option for "tap ok to continue" and just pressing the OK key doesnt work. Guess this is maybe a challenge in a way too. see if you can change settings, go through menus without touching the screen. Thanks all!

Try installing MyMobiler - freeware utility that will allow you to control your phone from your computer and it allows for the softkey press through menus. That's all I have for you, maybe someone else has a better solution
wow. strangly that was the one thing i had just found today..and was actually the only thing so far that has let me install some of these apps i need to try to help me do things..."better?".
I have looked under the settings for hours and have not found anything! Need help :/
The only way for me to get back to home is to press back a bunch of times, I can't hold the home button to pull up recent apps either.
I am new to android, or just phones in general and my friend flashed my phone with AOKP.
Any help is appreciated!
Alright guys, I was the one that flashed his phone, and he's new to forums so I'll address the problem he's having.
We live far apart so can't really fix his phone for I don't have an S3 myself. His home button was working as it should, home would exit, long press would bring up the multitasking etc.
Today randomly his phone wouldn't respond to the home button. The thing is, I told him to wipe dalivk, do a factory reset, etc. and hes able to use the home button in the recovery but not the ROM itself.
There's a huge probability that he has possibly changed the settings somewhere binding the home button to do absolutley nothing on keypress, but I am just unsure of his settings on his phone. Could anyone help out please? Thanks.
what rom?
Flash stock? See if it's working again?

what rom and launcher.
Op says its aokp.
Next thing id try is reflashing the rom.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
with CM10, you can configure what the home button does, or you can assign "nothing" to it. aokp is basically cm10 with more options, just fiddle with the settings and find that option, it should say something like "hardware keys"
