I recommend finding a cab that's been modified to work with the TP2, the purchasing the maps from TomTom.

guys,
I found installing this ROM a breeze, but have been noticing some functionality issues. Has anyone else experienced them?
1) Password for GPRS connection keeps disappearing. Like the old cooked ROMS. Not sure if it is after a soft reset.
2) My TomTom 6 "reset" itself. It was working fine, but then later in the day it lost all the map registration settings, voice, and POI warnings.
3) The freezing in TT6 is still there- but seems to be cured with the ATI fix.
Everything else is great- though I haven't checked the behaviour of Voice Command with a BT headset yet.

I havent had any issues except the freezing in TomTom. Do you have a fix for this?
try this...
copy to your PPC and run from there.
You need to restart the device.
I have the same issues
Lost connection settings
Lost bluetooth settings
Lost wep keys
Any solution ?

Same problem here, it takes approx 5-10 min to get a fix.
No problems with losing connections, bluetooth settings or WPA keys on my Dopod with this ROM. I have reset and restarted it many times.

That's strange. I've upgraded mine with ANZ radio 1.46.30.11 and I can confirm that I'm able to get a faster fix on TOMTOM (between 1 - 4 minutes). This morning when I went to work it only took 1.5 minutes. Mind you, I'm using LVSW's WM6 ROM, so maybe that also affects how the radio works.
My suggestion: install the cooked ROM of your choice and upgrade the radio to version 1.46.30.11 for us Aussies. You won't regret
I've tried AX3L and LVSW and they're both very stable and fast. HTC Home Plug works very well on LVSW (less slowdown).
isn't LSVW 2.0.1.1 have battery drain issues?

Yes it has, and there are some workarounds. I haven't confirmed this myself, but some people claimed that the new radio (1.46.*) has reduced (if not fixed) the battery drain issue. It doesn't really affect me as I don't use GPRS a lot.
Ax3l released a patch for the power issue a week ago and i tried it before upgrading my radio and it works great- no longer have power drain issues.... upgraded the radio anyway- i am using Ax3l 2.0.8 and am in melbourne.....
Hello All,
I've flashed a GPS rom, and verified the gps to work with google maps (with the GPSID management). I can't seem to get tomtom6 configured properly to use the gps.
Has anyone been able to get it configured properly?
Thanks!
Matt

Yes, just set you com to 4 and other NMEA device and baud to around 4800 prime the gps using google maps or Live search or a GPS launcher.
Mine works great.
Good luck
Wait a second... didn't i see that response somewhere else?
I tried using AstroGPSLocator and it doesn't seem to work. Is there another primer/launcher that anyone can recommend?

I's actually called GPS Launcher and it is already configured to use with Tom Tom. I believe you can find it at PPCGeeks.com.
Good luck
I've always used GPS Viewer as the initial testing app to see if it works. Not exaclty sure where to download from, as far as the developer's site, but it seems it's attached in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330412
Mine came with the ROM I flashed, but it does good for showing the position of the sats it's obtaining signal from.
AstroGPSLauncher works great. I am running TT6 with this and there are no problems. @Big after you load AstroGPSLauncher are you opening TomTom with the TomTomLauncher link, or with the original TOMTOMNavigator? Also, what ROM are you running?

I've tried several times with com 4, other NMEA device and baud rate at 4800. never shows a gps device. i've tried a lot of other com ports , always priming the gps ahead of time with google or live maps, even used auto launcher.. still no go.
anyone have any ideas that they could help me with?
thanks
Are you able to get a GPS lock using the programs you are using to prime with? You need to be able to get a lock with them to use that method. When I first tried to do that with my Sprint Touch using the Official ROM release
I did not at first realize that I had to leave the program I used to prime the GPS running in the background, or TomTom would not be able to keep the GPS alive.

I flashed a VZ XV6900 Brand new out of box with the Verizon leaked rom

After the flash I tried to use live maps....I already *228 (Option 1 & 2), setup phone location on, gps h/w port, program port , baud rate, etc. GPS in live did not work!
I then tried Valhalla GPS thing...Still nothing!
I did a clear storage which formats everything...(let custimizations run this time!) Did the *228, location, h/w port, program port, baud, etc...Tried live maps...nothing........Installed Valhalla....Nothing!!! Nothing Nothing!!
I was successful last week with this by figuring out my phone was on 911 only and gps locked instantly...that phone was cracked and broken and had to be sent back. I know this should work...but I am stumped! Please Help me!

Update!!!
For some reason it works!
It wasn't working at all...I didn't touch it & went to sleep...I woke up & the FRIGGIN' thing works great!
Thanks!
What exactly are you trying to figure out?
I am presuming you are trying to use GPS on your Touch (XV6900)? Do you have a live data connection? If you do not have a data connection, perhaps Verizon has data block on your phone, then aGPS (Valhall CAB) wont work.
By the way, the leaked ROM was from phonenews.com. This was an official Verizon ROM, therefore you dont have to worry about letting customizations run. I am runnig this exact ROM and works great so far. Verizon simply has not made it "official" as of yet. When they do finally put it out there for all of us XV6900 users you can find it on
http://www.pcdphones.com/view_phone_details.aspx?mcode=XV6900&sAct=0&carrierid=null&bID=95
This is not the official rom by far.....everyone has reported the gps does not work and the rom is incredibly sluggish
you are wrong whosdaman.
The ROM is perfectly working, with all the customization, and the GPS works perfectly in google maps or live maps after using the vallalha fix. Been using it since it was posted and just installed manilla2d to replace the cube and it works a treat.
Are you working for verizon?
yup just flashed the verizon unofficial 6.1 rom, so far seems stable and data is fast.
Opera works good also. I havent reinstalled all my apps yet to see if there are any problems there.
Installed vahalla gpsfix, google maps and livesearch get locks on 6-10 satellites in 3-5 seconds in my house!
Installed vznavigator from vzstart.
VZNavigator fails because it checks provisions and verizon hasnt enabled its use yet.

If you check ppcgeeks where everyone has been talking about it, no one on verizon could get it to work straight out of the box
Everyne has reported problems with it, and no I have Sprint....do you have verizon?

It works great , gps locks on google maps and live search in 10-15 seconds
and rom is very fast and stable , data is alot faster with Rev A.
hey UnlockMe what version of manilla2d did you install? I'm interested in installing. Also can it be uninstalled safely to go back to stock?

Well, I can confirm that with this ROM my device is in fact sluggish, and the GPS most certainly does NOT work out-of-the-box (maybe with the exception of VZNavigator), and I didn't have any luck with the Valhalla GPS deal.
I've since gone back to my custom ROM and still can't get GPS working - I suspect because once firmware is written you can't roll it back?

version 20 I think, whatever was the last stable version.
You can't uninstall it without a hard reset though, at least that's what the doc says, didn't try it.
After using manilla for a while now, I think the cube is much more efficient. Not as sleek as manilla, but I lost a lot in productivity by removing the cube and am considering going back.
Hey not sure if this is a question I can ask or not here but can someone point me in the right direction to get this rom. And will I need to re authenticate the phone after flashing?
Valhalla Cab
Can someone please post a copy of the Valhalla cab file. Thanks.
Edit: Nevermind, found one online.
P.S. I'm a little late on this update, but I was able to update my wifes XV6900 w/ the original leaked rom (with customizations) and enable GPS for use w/ GoogleMaps using the Valhalla fix.
I cannot connect to any GPS satellites using any program.
When using the HTC GPS Tool it shows that it can satellites everywhere it will just never fix on any of them.
I have tried several ROMS and this does not seem to be the problem.
It was working when on the OEM ROM and even on several other cooked ROMs I had tried. It stopped working when I switched from EnergyROM w/ 2.5 to the Official European 6.5 ROM. Since that ran so much smoother I thought it would be allright without GPS but now I am really missing this feature.
So i decided to go with a clean 6.5/2.1 ROM and chose the Timor ROM. This still didn't fix my problem. Now i went back to the last working ROM that had GPS and again no luck. So idk if this is a hardware or software problem.
ALSO i tried two different radios, both which had previously worked.
4.45.25.05 and 4.45.25.17
No luck with either.
I WANT MY GPS BACK!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Check out this thread, it seems to work on the Rhodium as well as the Fuze.

Really? wow... .77 is the radio that -- for me -- works best for GPS.
But anyway, the HTC GPS Tool makes any radio work better for GPS.
Hi,
I think I got this problem since froyo, but I'm not sure. GPS needs ages to find a satellite, most of the time it's not working. Strange enough it's working almost instantly after I rebooted the phone! This problem is not related to the navi softare I'm using.
I'm currently on the latest Leedroid and patchet the Kernel v6. Any ideas?

Lee is using the European NTP servers for reference. Depending on your side of the world, you might need to change the entry in /system/etc/gps.conf to "NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org".
Cheers
Peter
I'm living in germany...central europe...
Maybe try another radio. Have you checked your connection with "GPS status?"
I tested GPS status and with this prog it works much faster, strange enough...
