background4alltabs in new ROM? - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hello,
I performed my first flashing of ROM last night, I installed Dutty's last ROM for Windows mobile 6.1 because I could not take the instability of the stock ROm anymore, I hope this one is going to be more stable.
Howeever, I cannot find an application that will install a background for all the tabs. I tried Gregoriez but it did not work. I searched the forum but they are all for different Manilla versions. My phone tells me that I have TouchFlo 3D version 3.
What can I use to be able to have my own background in all the tabs?
Thank you!

Oddly enough I typed in 'background for all tabs' into the search function and found this thread. Maybe you could do something similar and also search!!

How to get "pure" WM6 ROM ?

Hi,
is there any way to get pure WM6 ROM, with no addons, no extroms - only WM6 OS and nothing else ?
And is it possible to extract (or get somewhere) separate .cab files for applications that come with various cooked ROMs ? (HTC touch app, Comm manager, ...)
thx a lot,
m.
When You upgrade to any WM6, the update procedure writes also the ext.rom, and later on the addons will be installed from the exrom. To avoid that, make a hardreset, and when the screen appears, that the addons would be installed within .. seconds, make a soft reset. With ExtRom_utility, You can make this rom visible, and You can backup the files located in the exrom to your PC.
I flashed a WM 6.5 rom to my MDA Compact III, but I want to go back to the original HTC WM 6.1 ROM that was on it.
I downloaded that, but I don't want all the stuff, just the OS.
Im going to flash it, but when do I exacly need to do the resets?
Or can I just delete the ExtROM, or whats in it?
=======================================================================
I flashed it and I saw wat you meaned.

You can use HTCRIE to edit RUU_signed.nbh from WM6 ROM , then you can add or reduce the applications that you deem necessary Good Luck
Wow guys, this topic is like, 4 years old! I really appreciate the fact that you use the search function, but still, if a thread is older than a YEAR and there hasn;t been a post in it, create a new thread.
But if the thread has nothing to do with ROM development, as in this case, post the question in General.
I'm closing this.

Smallest 6 or 6.1 Rom Stripped to the bone?

Need some advice.
I did look in the forum but couldn't find an answer to my question(s)
1 - I'm looking for a ROM which is stripped to the bone with only what is necessary for the Hermes to function as a phone with Bluetooth and WiFi.
I don't want to install office, voice command etc. just want to run a view programs like setup operator, pocket informant, opera, phonesuite, mobile shell and pocket breeze.
2 - Is it also possible to to build this into a ROM or do I need to install this after a new install manually.
For the commercial programs it's not the intention to install these programs cracked, I have a licence for all those progs so filling in my serials after installation is no problem.
To answer your first question, it is best to install a Clean rom, there are many of them around. Shadow and Faria seem to be the most popular. Have a play with them and if they are not stable enough for you then try a WM6 one, Shamanix rom also worked well. My fav WM6 rom was Berds SS_1-25. It was the bare minumim and worked flawlessly. Only my opinion.
For the second, just download the cab files for them and keep them on your storage card. There is no problem with installing them into the rom after the update is complete.
Happy flashing...
I did a search for Berds SS_1-25 in the forum but couldn't find it. Do you have a link to it?

I believe this is the one he was talking about
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361090&highlight=Berd
6.0 rom
Search BlackDragon... he made a sweet 6.0 rom with 85 freekin megs free.... very bony rom
very quick also.. 6.1 go with a new pdviet rom
IMHO the lightest is Pandora naked for WM6.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365604&highlight=pandora+naked
PDviet build 19900 is clean ROM. B&C and G&C has very few apps included.
You can also cancel the extended ROM setup and get a clean install of any ROM
thnx for the reply's.
Now I only like to know if it is possible to build the commercial programs into a rom.
anyone?

Another "what ROM" topic...

I'm sure everyone hates these topics, but I'm just looking for advice on what ROM to use as I've looked and can't really see any that suit my needs.
I'm after a ROM similar to Duttys 6.1 (E.g, it appears "stock"), but with the new calculator, notification manager etc from the Topaz, TF3D2, WM 6.5. There are a few ROMs that do include all these, but most include third party apps that wouldn't be in a "real" HTC ROM, or have custom TF3D2/tray icons.
Are there any ROMs available that suit this critera, or will I have to cook my own?
EDIT: Phone is GSM, and is currently running Dutty's ROM, and HardSPL. My radio and splash are fine.
i'd appriciate a good recommendation too. need a similar rom for my missus' diamond. normally i'd just try out a few but she hates setting up her phone again when i flash new roms so i have to reflash it as little as possible!
Just found this ROM, which would be perfect if it came without the extras (Then I can install which extras I want, i.e. YouTube).
looks good, seems to tick all the boxes, might give that a try!
Well then you found your own answer .

You propably use Manila v2.0, which means that themes for Manila v2.1 and v3, are not compatible with your device.
BUT!
First off, you should take a look at giving your phone a new ROM.
The kitchen cooks for TouchHD here on xda, are FABOLOUS! Right now, your Touch HD is slow as hell. Try and swipe the menus. Notice the lags. Enter the application pane. Swipe up and down. See?
The kitchen cooked ROMs in here, replaces the one you have - and gives you up to 20x faster performance (no kidding, and no exhaggeration).
I myself, use Laurentius26 v3.55 (www.laurentius26.net -- you have to become member of his website to download the rom, but it's all free, so don't worry).
Most people like Dutty's ROMs also - they're great too!
No matter what you choose, I promise you'll feel that your Touch HD has transformed into a speed monster. Especially in the menus!
Oh yeah - and as a side dish, you get the newest version of Manila and TouchFlo3D. Personally, I think that the version in the Laurantius26-ROM that I use, is so super-duper, that I don't want to spend time looking for other themes. I have thought of designing/programming a completely new GUI myself, but I gave up, as I don't have Microsoft Visual Studio.
But you have the oppertunity if you patch with a new ROM. I highly recommend you do that first thing.

Your manila can be found by going to settings tab in TF3D and then scrolling down to 'About'
It should state something like TouchFLO 3D 2.1.38658.2. The first 2 numbers i.e. 2.1 in this case state which manila you have
There appears to be no official update from HTC for a Indian rom. You can however update to any coooked rom by using either USPL or HSPL. I'd recommend you follow this guide and read up on the wiki. Available cooked roms can be found in this forum.
EDIT
Any further queries regarding rom upgrade should be posted in this thread or thread of rom you decide to flash to.
Try and keep this thread on themes please.

Then you don't have manila 2.0 or 2.1.
No one can provide you with the information 'which rom is best' as every rom appeals to different people. Best thing you can do is read each rom thread and make your own conclusion. As a pointer, the most widely used roms generally cooked by the following guys:
Duttythroy, Miri, NRGZ28, Laurentius26 & kwbr.
All of the latest roms generally use manila 2.1 and either wm6.1 or wm6.5 (should say on title of each thread)

[ROM][WWE][22.07.2009] Miri WM 6.5 23009 :: V 25.0 [ONLINE]
So will you help me how to start.
And after the Upgrade my Phone is Unser Warranty or NOT.
and How can i restore the Orignal ROM after the Upgrade, if i want to do that in future.
For help on flashing the ROM, read the guide in my signature.
For how to restore the stock ROM, read this thread where it says: How to reflash Stock/Shipped SPL - STEP BY STEP - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!
Also, it will be under warranty IF you restore it before you send it back for warranty purposes. If you send it back with a custom ROM/SPL on it HTC will most likely not warranty it.

It really doesn't get any clearer/easier than that. That is a step-by-step guide. If you can't follow that I would suggest not flashing your device, or get someone to do it for you.
You should also read up on the Wiki. It will help you out a lot too.

HD 2 Calendar

where i can get calendar like this?
its look cool..
Any of the beta Manila 2.5 ROM's e.g. Miri v10, Dutty R5, EnergyROM, etc over here.

how do i know what type of rom i'm using?
there is any software that i can installed without changing my rom? because i'm prefer to use current rom and not changing it which it not cause any trouble to me yet..
HD 2 calendar
1 more question, what actually they mean by rom?
i'm new user, quite not familiar with the word.
ROM stands for read only memory. Basically your phone will have come with the Stock ROM (Windows 6.1) but its like a basic version. Now because HTC and the phone companies like Orange, O2 etc are not that forthcoming with updates etc due to new phones being constantly announced, there are some really clever people on here who have taken either Windows 6.1 or the newer 6.5 and made if you will, custom ROM's.
I was quite confused as to how to update to these new ROM's with their being so many of them but its an easy process once you get the hang of it. I have tried about 3 different 6.5 Roms, and at the moment have gone back to Dutty's 3.9 XT which is a 6.1 rom.
Windows Mobile is so customizable, and thats what these Chefs (Rom creators) are doing. Check out the ROM's from Dutty, Miri, NRG etc they have all done fantastic jobs.
Hope this helps.

what spl, and how to change the rom to something else:

Well I don't have any troubles but there is always some bugs since most of the roms are not stable yet since (as far as I know) neither windows mobile 6.5 or htc sense is completed. When they're updated rom cooks update their roms also so when you start flashing you might want to flash new one when cooks release it, but you don't have to of course. But I started flashing roms one day after I bought my Blackstone.
The screenshots are from NRGZ28's energy rom photon with manila 2.5. I haven't use Miri's rom but I can suggest you NRGZ28's.
Also you'll need to read Dummies guide: flashing 1.56+ roms [v 2.0] carefully. Good luck and have fun with new roms
