Schap's 3.60a crash after phone call!!!

it happen to me several times as i finish a phone call and go back to the Today screen but on the left top corner still display the title "phone".and i cant press it to open the start menu when im at the Today screen not even the start key works.try hold down the power button to shut down but no luck.but everything still works at the Today screen (weather,music plug-in etc)
had to soft reset it.anyone have this problem as well?or is it a radio problem?

I use this rom with 1.51 radio till the rom is issued. I never had to soft reset because the rom crashed. The only really annoying issue i had is the bluetooth's one (Time to time, it is impossible to reactivate bluetooth without SR. This is why i do not desactivate it anymore ). We can always argue on choices, taste and colors but this rom is quite stable and fast enough for what i do.
EDIT: BTW check also which applications you have loaded. Did you reinstall a backup done with SPB after coming from another rom? I experienced many problems with that. Even if not pretty, i always reinstall now all my applications after installing a new rom (and i use pimbackup for calendar, contacts,... infos)

I don't agree with that the ROM issue after call. Your deveice may be has some problem. What about bluetooth yes, there is some interesting moment that you select open bluetooth, it doesn't open, as soon as you mark to open you should restart your deveice, then it starts with opened bluetooth. BUt when you are going to turn the bluetooth off there is no problem.
I'm sure, Schap as a great moderator will solve this problems in next generation of his ROMs. The variation 3.60a (has posted), may be 3.60b, then 3.60c may be. Or he will post something interesting like Iphone platform.(I want him to do it)

I have the same problem too, what I have discover is that during the call and the screen is off (either it off automatically after a time or you press the power button) then anytime you power on the screen again in between the call or after the call in a short time the problem tiggered.
the only way you can 'fix' it is to wait until call end then off and on your screen once then the 'start menu' back or wait for an amount of time until the phone lock tigger (that one with number pad)
I said 'fix' (with quote) because this definitely a temporary solution to deal with this problem
hope schaps can get more idea in how to trigger the problem and can fix this soon
other than this issue, the rom is really very great

To the OP,
If you are using a Hermes I suggest you reflash from scratch ie Schaps ver 3.6 rom, then use radio rom version 1.47.10..
Install ALL your applications from scratch, manually. DO NOT restore from a previous backup using, say SPB Backup; that will screw your installation. Make sure all your apps are the latest versions, capable of running under WM6.
Preferably install one app at a time, as you would anyway, then test the phone and make sure it is working before installing another app, and so on.
Don't install a theme changer or other similar software until you are absolutely sure your installation works. Leave the performance parameter settings as they are, ie at default.
If all else fails use the ROM combination in my signature below. Rock solid installation, no problems or crashes.

the rom is really stable.
apart from the bluetooth issue its really good..
really stable and fast enough..

No BT Issue till now
I use BT also with DrYAR-Bluetooth 1.6 (Whoopy!) No Issues at all either starting or Stopping BT
I'm using It for two days now It's OK
Did I mention that this rom Is even FASTER than the previous 3.5x?

I didnt have the bluetooth turn on just using it normally.and all application i install is fresh onto the phone memory.never install any program on the SD card.about the dialer skin i use Schen Kaiser 3G dialer.
Anyone got fix yet?

I've had this same issue for weeks now, ever since the newer ROMs have come out for the official releases (i'll have to track back the build numbers). I had it with Sleuth's last release, the vp3G 3.0 release, and now Schap's 3.60. I've done what other posters have said and hard reset, not loaded any apps, and still have the issue.
I believe I have tracked it down to do with X-button, as that's one of the few apps that is installed without customizations in both Sleuth and vp3G (and I run it in Schap 3.60a). My next step is to run vp3G 3.60 lite, without X-button, and see if that really solves my problem.

As a follow-up, I went to VP3G 3.60.1 install, ran the base install with nothing else installed and still had the problem. Still, the workaround suggested by others (putting the phone in standby and coming out) fixes the issue for me.

Suddenly white screen appeared?? *Artemis touch 3.01*

Hello All
I decided to post this problem here although it actually is a Artemis Touch 3.01 related "problem", but the respective thread is so overfilled and I think this may be of general interest as I believe it is a wm6 bug...
A few minutes ago, my device was syncing for about 35 mins already (all synced and only cheking periodically for changes) and I was surfing the net, antivir and kerio personal firewall where running, pg2 was in allow mode, outlook as well as 3 firefox windows, one with an onlineradio playing were running, but besides that nothing else...
Suddenly out of nothing I hear the "ping" sound it makes when the device gets disconnected from AS and I can just see how the screen turns white, not perfect white but with some very light grey lines from top at bottom in uneven distances - similar to the white screen from cid unlock...
Device was not answering any buttons, even after waiting a few minutes. Only help was taking out the battery and restarting. Since then everything works fine again.
Anybody ever experienced a similar problem?
My device with meschles rom worked absolutely birlliant until yesterday when I could not make a phone call, it said the network is not available or the number is wrong, I had to soft reset (which I generall do once a week) and then everything worked fine again - and now that...

8525 won't answer when I press the answer bottom.

Hi,
I have a 8525 with WM6 and Radio 1.54.07.00. Every time I received a call it gets drop when I press the answer bottom. This happen 9 out of 10 calls. I have to call back to the number in the call history.
Any sugestion?

Do you want to tell us a bit more? Are you running the original radio rom that came with the phone or a version you installed yourself?
If the latter I would consider doing the following:
- Go with another radio rom, in case there are compatibility issues with this one.
- Might be a hardware problem so I would install the S2U2 utility by A_C (search on here to find it), set the options so that you can answer or drop calls on the touchscreen and see what happens. If the device allows you to answer calls via S2U2 and the touchscreen then you may have a hardware problem.
Let us know how you get on.

I have an 8525 with radio 1.54 jsut like yours and periodically I have the same problem...not 9 out of 10 times more like 1 out of 20...It usually happens when my phones been on for a while and memory is limited etc. I usually soft reset and its good
how long have you had your phone? if its old then maybe your button is broke????

Strange lockup

Ok guys, I need some help here. I've been using multiple roms for a long time now but I have a problem with a very strange lockup.
When I change the alarm clock time under 'clocks & alarms', using the analog clock, and I press OK to accept the new time the interface locks up. I've to soft reset to get it active again. But I can also hold the power button to do a cold reset, which actually gives me the Warning pupup asking me to continue, which is strange as the interface seems to have locked up completely.
Something which happens occasionally is that when I press OK to accept the new alarm time all the background processes pop up really quick, like alt tabbing really quick, before a lockup.
This happens randomly, but ususally once my TyTN has had some uptime.
I always flash the official TyTN ROM (without radio) before flasing a new custom rom and I prefer not to use any RBS roms.

I've had these problems with almost all WM6.1 roms and am currently running CRCs Release 13.0 - Stable Thread (Build 20270) and I will keep this one for now.
I've also seen this behavior with:
All pervious CRCs roms (development and stable), all PDACornerPro roms up to V22, some pdaviet roms (I've not tried all) and some other roms.

Thats odd, I cant reproduce it (On CRCv13), do you have anything else installed that might be causing any kinda conflict?

I think the place to start is hard reset and see if you get the same error without installing anything.
Then work though, one program at a time, and find out what seems to be doing it.
Has this only started happing post getting the new phone? It would surprise me if it was a hardware issue though.

Nah, this also happened with my old TyTN. I was thinking about a hard reset and then letting it run for a while as you just suggested, so I'll do that now.

[APP] TomTom Launcher for disabling timeout

Having trouble keeping the program focusing, so does not work yet.
It's a basic program which makes sure the display doesn't timeout while TomTom is running. Devices such as the HTC Maple and the HTC Excalibur doesn't support this function natively.
I have only tested it on my HTC Maple and it works fine. The default path to TomTom is \Storage Card\Program Files\Navigator\TomTom Navigator.exe
It comes with two programs, one is for launching TomTom and the other one is to change the default path. I suggest copying the files into your TomTom folder, but it doesn't matter. Remember to create a shortcut to the launcher and add it to your startmenu for easy access.
It could work on the HTC Excalibur but I haven't tested yet, so If someone could test and reply to this thread, that would be great.

The same I cannot say of iGo8...

I think the timeout being referred to is when you have a PIN setup? I am going to download and try on Diamond - will post result.

Can it be used for Garmin as well?
I don't know about Tom Tom but I have the same issue with Garmin - could you modify this app so that it will so the same for Garmin? WOuld be greatly appreciated

Your right, I've used the HTC Universal and that work fine for TomTom. But with phones such as the HTC Excalibur and now my phone the HTC Maple, the TomTom times out. So the problem probably vary with different phones and maybe even different TomTom version.

If it doesn't work its probably because your device has a different pvDevice name than my HTC Maple. The pvDevice name is needed to access the power functions on the phone (Mine is BKL1: ). What is your device name? I could check the pvDevice name and update the program to work with your phone and my phone

Thanks for the prompt reply. I am currently using my old iMate JasJam (runs wm6.1) as the GPS chip on my HD2 died. It is - hopefully - being repaired as we speak. However, as I am off to the Czech Republic in a week for a holiday I may have to use it instead. Nothing worse than having to restart the phone every 5 min as you are walking around trying to see the sights.
Don't know what "pvDevice name" is or where to find it. Under Device settings in wm6.1 it says my model no is Herm100 and Platform is PocketPC using CRCs rom version r13.5 but I'm guessing that's not what you are referring to.
I will try just installing it and see what happens. Any further help would be greatly appreciated as this app would be brilliant.

Im really sorry. I just did a full test today and It seems even I can't get it working . The screen stays on but it loses focus after a while. I'll start working on it now!
When you say "cuts out after a few minutes" is that the display turning off? Or just Garmin losing focus?

Nothing to apologise for - just to have someone develop such an app and make it available for free is a privilege - wish I had the knowledge and skills to do it.
To answer your question, the screen turns off - I have to press the screen-on button at the side of the jasjam, then navigate to the Garmin program launch icon and press it. The program comes back up to where it left off so I guess it must still be running in the background. Of course, when I am on external power this is not a problem - it keeps running. OK in the car but not much good when walking around.
I have noticed that in System/Backlight settings the screen is set to turn off after 5min when on Battery Power so I have unchecked this option, ie screen shouldn't ever turn off. This seems to be working; however, when Garmin is turned off I then have to remember to reset the backlight-off timeout otherwise I'll quickly have a flat battery.
Nowhere near as elegant as your app promises to be.
Have had Garmin running for past 10 min while I have been typing/composing this reply and it hasn't dropped out ..... yet.
What do you mean by "losing focus"

Further to above, I have had Garmin running non-stop since the above post - 30 min - so unchecking the "turn off screen backlight" seems to have done the trick. Now I just have to go through the nausea of manually checking it again in he system properties.

Its just like your desktop, when you are doing something in a window, be it typing, mouse clicking etc, you are focused to that window. But as soon as you click another window your focus changes to that window. So whats happening with this program is its focused on TomTom for around 30s but then it is losing focus to something in the background. Nothing visually happens on the screen, but as soon as I press a key it switches to the background.
It sounds like even the backlight doesn't stay on for you...
Hopefully I can figure this problem out by soon, when I do, ill post

For your info, I have two settings that seem to be relevant both related to Battery Power:
1. Settings>System>backlight>battery power> uncheck "turnoff backlight if device not used for ..."
2. Settings>System>power>advanced> on battery power> uncheck "turnoff device if device not used for ..."
When the Garmin first turned itself off I noted that "1" was checked and set to 5 minutes and "2" was checked and set to 2 minutes. 2 minutes seemed to be the time it took before the phone/screen turned itself off. Once I unchecked "1" the setting @ "2" was irrelevant.
Re loss of focus - no, the screen went blank. When I pressed the power on button for the screen the "today" screen came back up. I then pressed the program launcher>Garmin and Garmin resumed where it had left off.
