Anyone know how to send/receive in outlook WM6 every minute? Every 5 minutes seems a bit slow.
Cheers George
Hi!
Why not to use ICQ for so frequent communication?
I have configured send\receive every 10 minutes in ¨working hours¨ and every 1 hour for ¨non working hours¨.
Sorry, ICQ??
Is there any particular reason why you'd want S/R every minute?
It would have a pretty major impact on battery life, and also potentially cost a lot more in data charges, because even if there are no messages, there would be some handshaking/polling
If immediate access to email is needed, you would be better to subscribe to an Exchange Hosted service, giving 'Push' mail, calendar and contacts. Costs about £40 per annum, plus about 4MB data per month for the connection (which is less data than 1 minute polling would use)
I didn't know it can affect battery performance. I use web n walk so data charges aren't really a factor.
I just want to receive emails quicker than every 5 minutes thats all. I don't get this direct push technology email stuff?
I have 4 imap4 accounts set up. Can i use mail2web to make these all push? I want to keep my email addresses, don't want a @mail2web address instead.
Hi all,
Do you know where is the setting in WM6, where to put the PUSH mail address? In WM5 I put there the EMAIL2SMS email address that my operator gave me, and when I receive an e-mail, the exchange server of my operator sends me this special EMAIL, that is received like SMS, that tells my phone to connect to the exchange server and to sync. No need to sync on particular time, or the connection to be always on. In WM5 this option is in ActiveSync>Menu>Schedule>(a second blue link under the "peak times" link).
I don't know I explain this right, but if you ever used this future on WM5, you should know.

That is an old implemention of 'Push' email, and is not supported now that later WM5 (MSFP) and WM6 supports proper Push email direct to your inbox.
You would need to speak to your provider for more specific instructions.

Fair enough about the Web'n'Walk
There will be a battery hit, though I'm not sure how much.
To keep your own email addresses, you would need to pay for a Push Email subscription, and even then, I think you can only use one of your own addresses, so probably not for you.
It might be an idea to look into WebIS Flexmail. Apparently it can handle push using IMAP accounts. There is some info Here in a thread on 4WM. Towards the bottom are some posts by Alex of WebIS explaining it.
why don't you try those push services like http://live.mail2web.com/ ?

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with emails for contacts showing up. What I mean is if you go into a contact and then slide across to emails, it should show all the emails from that specific contact.
This has always worked for me if something was in my inbox, but that makes it nearly useless unless you keep everything in your inbox without deleting it. I use GMail, so I set pocket outlook to also sync 60 days worth of the "All Mail" folder, the spot where all of your email goes after you archive it.
The problem is that while the emails show up under contacts if they are in the inbox, they DON'T show up if they are in the "All Mail" folder. I tried restarting my phone and also waiting in the email tab overnight just in case it took it really long to filter through the emails, but no-go
Does anyone know what to do? This would be a really nice feature if it worked!
New question: has ANYONE here actually gotten that to work?
After viewing an email from the Sense interface, my LED still blinks telling me I have an email. Is there anyway to make the notification go away after viewing emails from Sense?
Thanks
Just installed MR2 update from Verizon.
if you are simply looking at your email on the email tab, that is just a preview. you will need actually go into the actual email to stop the notification (i normally just tap the screen and it takes you into the email.)...
this has been my experience...
When i first start my car (kia soul) it proceeds to download the phone book from my phone. On my previous phone (touch pro 2) it went much quicker then it goes with the Evo. I assume this is because i have more contacts.
Is there some way i can designate that only certain contacts get transfered? There's really only a handful that i ever call from my car, the rest of them i don't need added to the car's phone book. Could i do something like create a bluetooth group and only contacts in that group get transfered to the car's memory?
No solution to this? It takes several minutes before i can use the incar bluetooth system due to how long it takes for it to copy the phone book.
Well I unchecked exchange in my contacts then it doesn't sync them. After the first sync you can go back and check exchange and it will sync them in the background next time you get in the car.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk Pro.
If you mean under the account & sync settings, i do not have my exchange contacts set to sync. The only thing set to sync under there is email.
Is it possibly downloading EVERY contact that i have in gmail? Under the 'my contacts' section i have 40 contacts. but under all contacts i have well over a thousand.
On my touch pro 2, i think i probably had about 25 contacts in the phone.
Ya see my situation is a little different I have an exchange email for work then gmail for personal. I just go into the people app and unchecked exchange then it will sync faster. Sorry that none of that will apply for you but maybe help someone else. I will say this that it does seem slower syncing than the TP2. That doesn't help either ....

Hmm, so you think the phone itself is for some reason slow syncing then the tp2 and it's not just an issue of possibly having more contacts? If i have time, i'll try deleting my account from the phone and manually adding a few contacts and see how long it takes for it to sync just that handful.
I'm not sure what you mean by going into the people app and unchecking exchange? when i click on people, i don't have an option anywhere to uncheck exchange. Maybe that's because i don't have the exchange contacts set to sync under the account settings.
Anyone have problems with notifications?
With my old note when I receive a mail or a whatsapp chat the notification was literally instant, even before web gmail show it
now with note 2, sometimes can take 10 minutes before the phone says to me that I have a mail or a new whatsapp message.
any idea?
Don't know about whatsapp. For email, I always get emails half a minute or less before my Outlook on PC.
However, I think it depends on your network speed.
