Hey guys,
I have replaced my original hero fonts with the DeJaVu ones. I would like to go back to the original fonts.
I have a nandroid backup that has the original fonts. What should I do to extract the original fonts from the old image?
Appreciate your help

me too sorry newbie
please someone give a hint..
interrested too but don't abble to opne files... try to rename the .img in .zip but doesn't work...
Please help
I believe the file at the link given above has the "system image" files. You guys are just trying to make a theme so I am guessing you want the "picture" images only right? It would be easier to just extract a rom from the dream android development area and extract the apk files and wallpapers from it.
Here is a link to a thread that contains a dump of the system folder from T-Mobile UK 1.76.110.6 Hero rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542218
The icons, artwork, and such are located within the apk files which are basically renamed zip files. Good luck.
right, i was looking for picture files - and now i've got them. thanks!
Hello everyoene,
first of all my english is not the best so please forgive me.
Can anyone make a tutorial how to make a theme for Desire or a custom Rom?
I read this one.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=722993
to edit the framework-res.apk
I am using [email protected] and i have the tools:
APKManager APKtool and update modified zip.
I try to push the framework-res.apk and it dosen't work. Only when i make a install Zip.
So now I would like to change the Contacts.apk framework-res.apk and other stuff. To edit the XMLs file and Smailis and so..
But I only can change the *.pngs whitout 9.pngs and the statusbar is changed...
So please I try to find out how to make a whole Theming tutorial...
Something like..
1. You download the Custom
2. Unzip
3. decompile...
4. to change XMLs do this
5. to change Smailis do this
6. to edit the 9.pngs open draw9patch
7. Compile..
8. Remove apps
9.make installscript
10. sign?
11. install wih custom recovery...
I want to change the color, font, statusbar and icons.. and first of all the Dialer..
Can anyone help me? In german you can send me a pm too or if it is allowed post here some sugestions.
I think I will follow this thread very closely!
Cause me and my friend wants to make themes for our desire's, but so far we have encountered a lot of resistance.
Maybe there is a good-hearted soul out there, who will enlighten us on the subject (a full tutorial would be nice).
I mean not a full titorial but the steps how we can theming a custom rom..
To unzip, decompile, edit, compiling, zipping, signing and finaly flash to the desire..
thanks
I read this tutorial and I have been able to extract/modify the app name and modify/replace the images I wanted to theme. My question is: can I add/delete png's from the res/drawable-hdpi folder? Or can I only modify/replace png's that already reside in the res/drawable-hdpi folder? If the first question is true, what needs to be done to get the theme to function properly?
I tried to delete a few images I did not want to be replaced by the skin and it crashed the system when applying the skin. Luckily I made a fresh backup before experimenting so no harm was done. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

If you dont plan on changing the xmls for redirection i believe is what it is...then modify/replace is your only option.

ok ive had a look around, and i think ive came up with a possible solution for you. but im not 100% sure. should you feel willing to try this, do a nandroid back up first!
then follow this guide and i think it will install mulitple new language fonts onto your phone. http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-t...-unsupported-language-fonts-to-android-phone/
This is about to change system fonts if you want differents fonts you must change the name of the fonts to the original file name of android to make it work but thats not the problem. i wanna put in the values-nl into framework-res.apk.
I have manage with apkedit to put values-nl into com.htc.resources.apk but is doesn't work with framework-res.apk.
sorry buddy. fresh out of ideas....
i have tryed framework-flasher now it will boot but many errors shows-up.
please can anyone put in the nl file for me i'm very tired with this file.
Hi!
Can someone kindly upload the latest htc emoji ttf, so I can use it on my phone with CyanogenMod? (It will just work, right?)
Thanks!
Edit: I found it in a ROM i downloaded from the development forums! The file is called hTC_ColorEmoji.ttf. You can just rename it to NotoColorEmoji.ttf and put it in the /system/fonts directory and it will work
