My questions is simple Mr. Cruzz, but not for the answers maybe
How to port the new rom version into Zinc? I hope you can teach me.
to port a rom 1st u must find a qvga rom as in hermes, kaiser etc .... then use the SYS folder only in ur kitchen for Zinc ... compile it and flash ...

Exp.1. Using New SYS + ori OEM + New MSXIP + ori OEMXIP + 19900 OS.NB the result is device won't boot.
Exp.2. Same pattern as above but this time using the New OS.NB and the result is only got a blue welcome screen.
Exp.3. Is there any O2-Asus emulator in order to try the ABI before flashing it into the real device

Try to merge with 21041. But, still cannot boot & stuck at the default blue welcome screen
FYI, device will boot with XIP 21054 & SYS 20931 verse, but the 20931 has been patched at some levels. So the result is Messaging (tmail) & Pocket ie that won't work, also with a lot of unstandard ResOver icons
There is a link to another custom build here at PdaMobiz. But i think they're using the same, the dang old version of 19199 with full of 3rd-party application (maybe not quite useful for every person in general)
Try to visit site O2Zinc. Lot of Zinc hacker there including Mr. GanFan & Netxsky

Finally i have buy a new device HTC Touch Diamond to replace my previous (dead screen) HTC Cheetah. Don't know whether to cook another ROM for Zinc or not in the future. But i'll be watching on the newer build version of M$WM 6.1 Professional. Cheers

Not for cooking. But now i'm in a semester project called Implementing & Managing Linux Network Environment for Enterprise which involving Bind, Dhcp, Apache, Iptables, etc. Lot of command line & shell scripting that makes me sick

From where did you get 21054 (WWE) release?
I never uploaded it yet elsewhere
Do you mean 19900? If so, what operator you use?
Have you try O2 auto config method? or if it cannot detect your network settings, so you must setup manually. Go to your operator website & find the network value.

2. Add all OEM packages you need to the OEM folder

there is a folder inside this packages called OEMOPERATORS, extract one of the packages to DEV_HERMES_GER_WM6\OEM\ to add the operator settings
the result should be this path: DEV_HERMES_GER_WM6\OEM\OEMOPERATORS
3. Run BuildOS.exe
Select the optional packages you would like to include to the ROM and start the build using the green button
4. Run CreateROM.bat
it is important that you see "Checked ... sectors successfully!":
DONE!
Your new ROM is called os-new.nb inside DEV_HERMES_GER_WM6\temp

Yes, you just have to replace SYS and OEM... Notice that the tools inside .\TOOLS\ and the CreateROM.bat are special Hermes things

The number changes with the size of the ROM, which in turn changes with the packages you select/deselect. The important part to watch out for the the word "successfully".

Sorry for another noob question... When I get it right, I can only chose OEM packages and optional packages. Does that mean that there is a "base ROM" that is always the same so I can't chose another one than the included base ROM? If so, what base ROM is it? WMXL, ...?!?
Sorry once more if this is a stupid question, but I'm really trying to get into all that ROM cooking thingy...

There is a base ROM, yes. It can be exchanged, although a) this is a bit more difficult, and b) the shipped ROM is the only German version existing. I also don't see much point exchanging it, as it's the same that all other ROMs are based upon, just peppered with German resource files.

I was just wondering if I could make a specific ROM (e.g. the black edition) to a German ROM and at the same time adding German O2 customizations with this kitchen.
Seems like it would be possible but not for a beginner in ROM cooking like me...

i am using the HTC TyTN daily for my work, so i have no time and possibility for playing around with a lot of Firmwareupdates. As HTC is not able to deliver a real stable WM5 (where is the Aku 3.3? they promised since months!) i am thinking of helping myself.
So the "easy" question is: How stable and supporting all standardfunctions like, UMTS, SMS, MMS, Exchange, Powermanagement... is this WM6 ROM Kitchen Kit? So can you recomend it, or is it something for experimental use only?

it should be stable and it is supporting all standardfunctions... I dont have a hermes, so I can only tell what I've got as response from other users.
Just one thing, it is important that you add the OEM package for your operator.

This was the fastest way to do it & coz of no time to cook a new one .
After flashing, the auto config will show blank for operator, Tab on cancel.

1. Copy MarsII_G4.ABI file to ur MiniSD card (card must be less than 4G)
2. Plug usb wall charger to your Zinc
3. Push/Hold ur Right arrow Dpad button & do Soft Reset
4. Zinc will reboot & will be in 3 color boot screen
5. See progress of updating
6. Zinc will reboot after finished updating

well frankly speaking, my friend mr.cashmore is doing all the xip porting (thx a lot man) .. i am the process of learning the art of xip porting (waiting a tutorial frm him soon)
will gladly share wz u after i get the tutorial, i think he will give me the stuff after he finishes his project of porting both ceos5.2.19199 & 19202
The base is my old Lite rom that i whipped a month back, i have tried it with kaiser rom but always stuck after boot screen with poutlook error ??? i dont think that the sys files have changed that much on all the build
I will try again soon on the kaiser or hermes build soon

the build only ... but i can see that the speed is much more faster than the last build without tweaking or installing netcf 3.5 ... other than that not much of changes ....

hey cruzz.. i have trinity 19209 build xip folder.. can i replace my elfin xip folder with that and cook for elfin? or do i only pick up the coredll.dll folder and replace it? will be running g'reloc on it anyways.. will the build really change or will it only show me a updated number?
rest all .payload and the rgus will be from my xip.. will it work brother?

ehmmm hard to say ... dunno if using only the core.dll can work ... but u can always try ... just standby the old rom (just in case)

Important
To improve the ROM I need your help. I cannot test every function myself. If you experience any problem, please report it! I can't improve the quality without feedback.
The ROM is a light version. It only has the orignial Microsoft Windows Mobile programs. No additional software. Additional software comes later when I am sure the base ROM is stable.

WM6.1 is a new start for me, new changelog comes here
ROM is based on the newest HTC Diamond ROM (only OS and SYS part, not the HTC programs)
Known problems
CommManager beam switch is not working, you can switch beam on/off using settings -> connections -> beam

Please check if your device has a RadioROM 1.46 or higher. I advice RadioROM 1.46 or higher. To view your RadioROM version go to start -> settings-> tab: System -> Device Information. The ROMS are without RadioROM.

It has the a2dp dll from the HTC Diamond ROM, but my a2dp fix is included.
A2DP runs fine.

That's all. HTC Software comes later, this is only a base ROM.
Does somebody know a download server like rapidshare that accepts files larger then 100mb.
Rapidshare does not accept my kitchen, 107mb

I'm a bit disappointed by the free mem though, that's quite small considering no soft has been loaded yet. I'm currently running Mary 3.7.1 and it also starts at 27Mb but with a quite a few tools loaded.

I did not make any RAM improvements to the ROM.
This comes in the final version.
I created a quick test version with all my software from version 1.2.
That version had 28mb of free RAM with a lot of programs loaded.

Sorry I don't understand you.
Bluetooth is working fine here, A2DP too.
adewidt please put the same version of MMS composer as 1.2 in your final version
because newer version of MMS composer the sms and mms in one folder
I placed the kitchen temporary on my own server.
Upcoming weekend I will upload it in two parts to rapidshare.
At last the new build for the long a waited rom is here ...

HOW TO FLASH
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Copy MarsII_G4.ABI file to ur MiniSD card (card must be less than 4G)
2. Plug usb wall charger to your Zinc
3. Push & Hold ur Right arrow Dpad button & do Soft Reset
4. Zinc will reboot & will be in 3 color boot screen
5. See progress of updating
6. Zinc will reboot after finished updating

i think you can get it at the titanium hex thread which have those hexed inside already
as for the batt level i think have to look into it soon (For this time i have put the link in Other Links at 1st page)
about htc task manager-i saw it when tried chineese rom 21725 and there was that task manager)
about Rom-dissapointing that wm6.5 eats more from my device-only 25mb free(if i close titanium),but its not your false)
Rom is great,also phone skin is still like wm5) would be great to see new style(something black)

Just wonder is it an official yet? About the previous 6.5 ROM, the PIE seems to be the same as WM6.1, what about this ROM?
BTW, which version will you suggest us to use, 21728 or 21806? I noticed that the 21806 have a bigger memory (19.31 MB, vs 13.46MB of 21728), does it mean it's better?

no still not an official rom ... but close to be i think.
PIE is a lill bit diff from what i saw
The version of rom is up to u actually the higher build is the newest

on your 19900 i had 28mb free,on wm 6.5 only 24 without titanium
Maybe you could help me to change phone skin in oem?

Beam transfers not working...
Network setting missing.....
battery details not popping have to go to setting to check battery percentage....
problems in sliding call accept/reject interface...its kinda stiff....have to necessarily use the stylus....
downgraded my device back to official 4.15 WWE ROM version...

I flashed my P320 with the ROM provided by navx2vad, working excellent on my device, speed has increased, all functions are working fine.
Here is what i did
1. flashed with official asus 4.15 ROM
2. again flashed with cusom ROM posted by hdubli
3. finally flashed with navx2vad's ROM

hi guys.. nt yet tried dis version... had upgraded to 21.4.09 OS.. i m facing pblms of beaming the files, the phone does not work, so at times we need restart.. receiving the call, slide problem.. and 1more thing, when we change the theme to default asus thehme(not the windows default), in d desktop on
the bottom, both displays are as contacts... and we cannot change it alos.. wil try this version..

wm 6.5 latest release
hi guys... i upgraded to the latest wm 6.5 shown here... yea there are bugs as mentioned above, plz fix them... and also the htc phonepad vch is pre installed does not work properly.. the t9 keypad just gives numbers wen typing.. alphabets cannot be written.. and there is no english language.. only german and italian... beam tranfer is one way... can send but cannot receive.. do updates asap...

Firstly thanks for a good job, this ROM is almost perfect.
The only errors that I noticed:
1. Problem with SMS and ring the bell phone in MP3.
2. The P320 thought long before ring call.
3. So manny input's is unnecessary.
4. Unnecessary panel on the phone:
(bether is in in oryginal for me !! this panel is unclear for me

There are a bunch of us unsuccessfully trying to Cook a ROM for this device. I have also tried, unable to figure out the XIP SYS files that need to go into this device. Hdubli has released a kitchen but still have not been able to put together a build.
