Hello, are there stable versions of manila 2.5 that are possible (and worth) to upgrade to on the tp? can we just use any manila 2.5 in other forums?
thanks.
i dont believe there is one yet, i have tried several but landscape mode isnt perfect
Easiest way to try it out is to get a cooked rom.
Currently I see Energy ROM has a 2.5 version.
Once you set up UC or sashimi, flashing it will not be a pain, and in my experience, this stuff works much better cooked in the with a cab.

hum, I am not sure there are any roms that will work with my phone, its a CDMA one... will that matter? (I just don't think the telus radio rom is available yet).
No, you're right, the ones available right now are GSM only.
... or maybe it's the HSPL which is GSM only. Either way it's a no go.
Shoot I missed that part! sorry!
No HSPL for CDMA or Worldphone yet. So no ROM.
Still believe that this stuff works better cooked in, maybe worth waiting some...
I guess I will!
The carrier cab isint half bad so the 6.5 upgrade in a few months should be good worst case scenario.

I use shadow and it's stable .. with 6.1 the only annoyance IMO is the threaded sms . as of now, if you disable it with the registry hack then you loose the audio and visual notification of new sms messages

I use Shadow 2 TE most stable fast and works as intended.
Are there any anticipated or soon-to-come known roms by known cookers? I would flash to tht shadow one but i don't want a better one to come out and have to flash several times.
Faria said he waits to be given a go by his source to release his WM6.1 ROM. He is quite a legend among cooks here - so probably this one and final Schap's 4.40.
I hear schaps is a very good cooker, any idea on when his rom will come out? I'll probably upgrade to his or dutty.
I really like Matt's Pandora Naked base roms. I install the stuff I like and everything works great. Good Luck

Gotta agree with this....taking pandora as a base and modifying it for my purpose is by far he best thing to do.
Even though I have had my 8525 for 5-6 months now I still have not flashed it with any ROM other than the AT&T WM6 upgrade. I really want to try a different ROM that runs smoother and has more available memory. Could someone please give a few suggestions for a good clean safe ROM I could try? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
If it's your first ROM to flash youmight want to try a 6.0 before a 6.1 as some people (though not all) have to do a fair bit of fiddling with it to keep it stable.
This - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1731669#post1731669 - is what I use. (I try a fair few ROMs but always go back to an edited version of that ROM afterward.) Safe as houses. Mattk_r's done a really good job on the Pandora ROMs and kitchens.
Mate, we can tell you what we like BUT it will just be YOUR personal prefernce that finally decides what you want. So saying as chunkymonkey said, stay away from 6.1 until it is a bit more stable. Schapps, Pays, Faria,Dr Puttenham,Mattk_r and TNT are all good Rom chefs. Look in the wiki to find (it will probably take you a while to decide) so looks like saturday or sunday is gonna be full. Black roms are pretty good too but are starting to become old now as I believe the last was cooked middle of last year. After finding the chef you like you gotta decide if you want a rom full of 3rd party apps or a lite rom for speed.
As a Personal preference I like TNT SE. seems fairly stable with not too many 3rd party apps cooked in so I can use the apps I love. Happy flashing...
hey climber just last week I was asking the exact same question, but I had some experience, anyways I wasnt sure but BEST fore people like you and me is this ROM Schap's WM6 Pro 4.31 ROMs [WWE/FRA] its the best 6.0 out there and has a LITE version which you are looking for here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359458
Try Schaps 4.31 or K's (kin0kin)'s final win mob 6.0 both are very good win mob 6 roms and are generally easier to work with than 6.1 roms. Make sure you install hardspl (takes about 5 minutes) before you flash a custom rom
Like the title says im new to all this custom rom stuff and looking for some insight on whats the best cooked rom for my tilt 2. ive been through 3 fuzes and now 2 of the tilt 2's so im no stranger to windows mobile. Just looking for some help. Thanks in advance
there are honestly thousands of threads with people asking for the best ROM. Here are some guidlines:
1) Best will be a personal opinion
2) Any Sense 2.5 ROM will be less responsive than Sense 2.1
3) Pick a rom that best suits your needs (eye candy, functionality, responsiveness, etc)
Go to the rom forum and sort by most posts, latest post, and most views to get an idea of what everyone else is using and what they like/dislike about it.
Also make sure you flash the correct SPL and Rom (GSM or CDMA).

thanks for the help! I guess i should have been more detailed on what i use my phone for. I text alot, talk of course, use the interned, the weather option, blue tooth and on occasion the wifi, i want something that responds well and is fast. Normally after about 90 days of using a WM phone the lag is just horrible. i just exchanged my phone through ATT for the above reasons. i want something that runs fast yet is stable at the same time.
I know i know i know, have my cake and eat it too to some extent lol

I would suggest going with the NRG Pheonix rom. A lot of people have that as their favorite and it seems to be very stable/speedy. Most of the newer Leo Sense 2.5 roms have slight messaging problems (especially with landscape mode). Never used it but you can rest assured that it is one of the better roms available.

Great! Thanks for all the help! If im reading right here, i need to run a sim unlocker then Hard SPL then install the rom? Correct me if im wrong here, this will be my first attempt. Thanks
I was using energy roms since i got my TP2 and just recently tried the leo cell roms and i am in love with them. They put alot of detail to the small things with the rom but i havent tried the phoenix roms so i cant compare the 2.

Check out htis site maintained by one of the members on this forum, he seems to favor the Energy Roms but has an overview of some other popular ones as well.

I don´t think any chef is actually cooking yet for Excalibur, since it´s an old (and beloved ) device. That said, I don´t think there will be any VANILLA version. However, you may try ALEKSS´s rom.. is the closest to a vanilla rom that you can get... and it works pretty well.. Personally, I´m a 3vo addicted..

the icons of startmenu in both cooker's roms are kinda pissing me off
I just need a plain professional look in a standard WM6.5 rom. Just like lovebabyjing's but I guess the network settings in love's rom aren't matched with my GSM. (its GSM 850 @ 2.0GHz). While AlekSS's and 3VO's work perfect, I cant recieve a phone call on love's rom even after downgrading to every radio version possible :/
Hi guys out there!
I am searching for a stable 6.1 ROM with basic functionality without Sense because i want to use SPB Mobile Shell.
I really searched hard, but was not able to find something fitting for me.
Maybe something like Gen.Y 5.5 without Sense. Because i like UC thing.
Hope someone can help me.

or you could try panosha lite roms
they're old by now, but they lack SENSE - maybe it's worth a shot?
why not just download the official rom and disable sense?

cause they are not tweaked and do not have uc.
The DIA Duit v1.7 is the best after I tried most of other ROMS, everything works smoothly except the Internet search cannot pass the query to the Opera 10.
.....my opinion tested many rom...
1) dia duit 1,7.
2) min 74 Y2
I was testing atleast 10 ROMs but i am settled with MEMO 2.5.5.1 (they still improving it)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649841
a worth trying this
You should try Cloudyfa's Rom
http://rapidshare.com/files/261693573/Diamond_Cloudy_1.3.zip
My opinion , i have tested like 50 rom's or so
2.11 Gen.Y wwe
Very stable , all is workind (except video call) by defalut (no patches or others)
Consumes 77 of your memory .
2) min 74 Y2 - This one I reckon it's probably the best only if you use European languages. I tried to install the chinese keyboard input onto the EzInput 2.1 and it failed to show in the keyboard option list. Dia Duit uses the basic one, so I just install EzInput 2.0 and it works with the chinese keyboard.

I agree... Nataly project is now near to be a myth, it's inventor was a real genius
anyway the basic kitchens are all the same, what's make difference is above all the approach, if you need a very fast/light rom you have no choice: go for a WM6.1 + classic manila (like I did many months ago), our weak & oldish diamond haven't enough ram to manage the "modern circus"
