You know how IE is on the bottom (favorites) and it's the default browser? I made Opera the default browser, but I want to add the Opera where IE is on the WM 6.5 windows default home screen. Even though Opera is the default pressing the IE on the home screen still launches IE and it's favorites. So I want to sub Opera for IE and it's favorites.
Anyone tweaked that up yet???
I also don't want certain options on the home screen. I don't want getting started as of right now on the home screen. No need for it to be there.

I find myself using the internet to read the news mainly on my XDA Orbit. but the IE browser sucks real bad. does anyone know of a good mobile browser.. i would like to be able to scroll by dragging the screen with my finger... i tend not to use the stylus for anything nowadays... but scrolling with my finger nail proves dificult sometimes..... tabbed browsing would be nice but not essential

I like the new Internet Explorer that comes with WM 6.5 however there is one major annoyance.
I like the fact that it goes to full screen by default leaving just the little “orb” in the bottom. However I HATE the fact that it displays the address bar every time I navigate. The address bar covers the tool bar for my web-based apps and I have to wait for it to disappear every time I navigate from page to page.
Is there anyway I can make it STAY in full screen mode without displaying the address bar unless I ask for it?

Don't use the IE, There are far superior browsers out there, delete the icon and forget IE6 exist. IE6 is a good step in the right direction but other browsers out there are far superior.

Eat Toast is right, you have Skyfire, Iris, Opera 9.5, etc......

i would say skyfire beats IE 6 10 to 1. page render is waaaaayyyyy faster and the ultimate reason skyfire has flash support built in!
I agree, I dislike Internet Explorer too. Skyfire is definatley a step up.
Does anyone know how to set IE as the default browser? I have the AT&T Tilt 2, WM6.5 factory ROM. I have a program that is not compatible w/ the Opera browser, and I think I like the ability to switch between the 2 variants (modes) (desktop & mobile) of the IE browser.

It seems like this should be possible from the registry somewhere. But not everyone want so mess with the registry, or they don't have time to mess with other apps. The 'easiest' way I've found to do it is to launch IE, go to the options menu and tell it to ask if it's the default browser upon launch. Close IE, re-launch and make it the default browser. I had the same problem with an app working waaaay better with IE over Opera.
Search xda for a cab called FIXIE.cab. It will make your pocket IE the default browser.
I like Opera 9.7 a little better than 9.5, but is there a way to change which program opens from the TP2's default Browser tab in TF3D? Couldn't find it in settings or registry.
Nothing? No help? Just using a VZW TP2 straight from the box. Want the 'globe' icon on the Browser tab to open 9.7 instead of 9.5...
I typically use Opera for web browing since I prefer it to Skyfire. As we all know, however, Skyfire can show many pages that Opera can't.
Is there anyway to add a menu item, a softkey, or an option when you press and hold that says "Open in Skyfire"? That way I can browse with Opera and don't have to mess with opening Skyfire manually and doing the whole copying and pasting of the URL.
Possible? Impossible? Stupid idea?
