change to keyboard with diferente button positions
Hello, i'm waiting from ebay an keyboard for qtek 9000(in this case, T-mobile MDA) and it was a qwertz layout.
the question is, if I change the original keyboard to a new keyboard with diferente button positions such as Ok button, video call button and others, will pda recognize the diference and atribute right function to each button?

no i believe it will not.... the keyboard replacement you bought are just button pads... external only and does not contain the board that corresponds to the button press.... this means it will still follow the original keyboard format even if the buttons say otherwise... you could use a software however to remap these buttons to suit your new keyboard layout.
Universal Keyboard
Hi!
I have a Universal with a German keyboard running WM6 in English.
There is no need for any sort of special software to map the keys when you change from German to English. When you load a WWE WM6 your device will automatically have a US QWERTY layout. It will be then up to you to remember your Touch Typing 101 lessons.
It's generally not that bad with letters and numbers--just swap the Y and the Z. Punctuation is harder. When I first got my phone I printed out the keyboard layouts from both a German Vodafone manual and an UK manual and carried them around for reference. After two months I don't even notice anymore.
Good luck,
shrines
Hi,
Why are you suggesting that??? It's much easier to fix the registry for the german layout. That's what I have.
1. for the german keyboard on english ROM
2. get a registry editor (like Resco)
3. search the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty]
4. edit - Layout in decimal to 66567 (from 66569)
5. softreset
(thanks to macznik)

I know what some of you are thinking... there is a SYM button right on the keyboard (function + ,), but this isn't what I'm looking for.
On WM6, if I typed ( (ALT + Q) and then pressed the spacebar WITHOUT releasing the ALT key, it would cycle through other symbols like [, {, <, and so forth.
This option is no longer present in WM6.1 and I was wondering how to get the functionality back. It was really handy when it came to doing the alternative symbols that aren't always available on the hardware keyboard.
Thanks in advance!
Whenever I hit the FN + J key to get a colon ), it gives me a slash instead (/). Anybody know why? How do I reset the physical keyboard back to defaults?
Thanks.
Nevermind, fixed it. I had made the manual reg changes to use classic word completion. I re-imported my exported reg file before the changes and my keyboard is OK now.
I really searched the forum for a solution but didn't find any.... I have an English/Arabic hardware keyboard, the mail key (also language switch) does not switch the language, only launches outlook when pressed along with FN key, I can only type Arabic on the soft keyboard.....any solution?
WM 6.1
Stock Rom 1.19.415 Arabic enabled
Many views... no reply .... ???
Bump..........
language switch
hey i have the same problem with switching btw japanese and english i solved it by maping the change input to [ctrl + shift] then typing is the same as on the desktop it is a pain for the touch pro 2 bc there is no ctrl button but i just hit it on the virtual keyboard and then switch
thanks for your reply,
I mapped it just like you said (using Rhodium Keyboard Controller..thank you tarkim for this wonderful app) but did not switch the language...actually it did not do anything...
Hi!
I´ve a Problem with the HW Keyboard of my Rhodium.
I want to play SNES Emulators, so i´ve to deactivate xt9 (changed two Reg-Keys), than the Emulation works great with the keyboard (not usinf morphgear, but PocketSNES).
But now the Blue FN Keys are going crazy. When i press FN+B there shoud be the "?", but there is the "/". Same with some other FN Keys.
When i change the Reg Keys back, the FN-Keys work, but the Emulation stop working.
Is there a posibility to deactivate xt9 without changing the "FN Layout"?
Best regards,
MrMmmkay
