Alternative to SPB wireless monitor ? - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hi folks
Im looking for an alternative to SPB wireless monitor as i found out that its causing touchflo 3d to sometimes not start when i restart my phone with wifi active.
anyone have an alternative ? preferably free but all suggestions are welcome
thanks

if you want touchflo and spb wireless together, try out the manila today page...this allows you to have a standard today on one of your manila tabs...works 100% as I used it
just google MTP and you have it

i dont want spb wireless that was the question.
i want an alternative to spb.
thanks

Hi, I'm looking for an alternative to SPB Wireless Monitor too, possibly free. Does anyone know if it exists?
Thanks!

Me too because I cannot get it to actually register the use of any data on mine for some reason, even though I've set up all the tariff info and extra unit costs etc.
Just doesn't seem to work.

I'm using HomescreenPlus+ via Second Today. Lets me see data usage, calls out and sms. Bit of a bugger to set up first time round but I'm quite pleased with it and it's free!

Hi,
I am getting my HTC HD2, and am worried about exceeding my call/data allowance. Can you advise where I can download HomescreenPlus+ via Second Today.
I did a search, but to no avail.

lcminutes does the trick free too

Newbie with an SPV-M2000 - what can I do?

Hi All,
OK, OK, I know it's not strictly an XDA or a Blue Angel, but they're as close as a very close thing....
OK, so I've bought this bit of kit from a mate. It was SIM locked to Orange, but I've unlocked it via here: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/10637.htm
It has Windows Mobile 2003SE and I've installed Opera browser.
What else can I do with it?
Can I upgrade to Windows Mobile 5?
There are a bunch of programs already on it, but sometimes this is a bit strange - ie: I have MSN Messenger and Pocket MSN; do I really need both? And if not, can I uninstall one of them?
It took me a week or more to find that there was a button lock - why Orange didn't seem to feel I'd need it and put it somewhere obvious in the manual is beyond me.
What I REALLY want do is to be able to use it for Sat Nav. So, my local Orange shop has TomTom Mobile 5 on offer at £99 including the Bluetooth GPS receiver and UK maps. Is this a good deal?
Or...there's the ubiquitous eBay, who have the I-Blue Bluetooth Receiver for £30, after which I'll need software.
Will any software work? I mean, does it have to be TomTom? Or can I get other software?
What seem logical to me, is that I can get any number of Bluetooth GPS receivers and any number of regional maps on SD cards. Is it really that simple?
What about plug-in GPS receivers? Do they exist? And are they worth it? Oh hang on, I've found one here.
That's all for now - except....I've been on the xda developers site and it all seems a bit of a black art to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm no idiot when it comes to technology and PCs in particular, but this whole PDA lark seems way over my head.
Thanks....in anticipation.

Yes you can have WM5, the most popular at present is a Helmi ROM. Very fast and loads of free RAM.
TT6 is the latest version and it runs really well on the Blue Angel. The maps are newer than TT5 and includes maps covering all of Europe. That's why you are being offered TT5 & GPS for £99. In fairness it's a good price because it costs around £40 for a GPS device incl p&p. The Ebay one you mention looks fine.
Try www.mapopolis.com for evaluation copy of sat nav, quite good but I would go with TT5/6. Not keen on wired GPS devices but if you provide a link I will take a look.
Cheers for the info Stabilo.
The cradle I was talking about was one of these: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/10636.htm I have seen similar with GPS receiver built in somewhere.
I've ordered one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOMTOM-ARKON-...ryZ75447QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem from eBay in the mean time, just to simplify car usage. No receiver built in to this one, but a connection port: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Arkon-CM750-X...0QQihZ018QQcategoryZ75447QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

O2 XDA Orbit- Download queries.... (call monitoring, profiles, gprs)

Great machine- the iphone before its time. Moved from a mini s and love it.
Anyway few phone related issues:-
Profiles- anyone know a nice handy way or free download to have on screen profiles available for the choosing? ie. silent, loud, outside, etc...
GPRS monitoring- anything out there a bit more straightforward than SPB Gprs monitor that comes with this?
Last but not least has anyone any idea of some good call monitoring/ minute tracking software? Only one i can see is phone dashboard but its not massively versatile.
Ideally i want something that can track my orbit with its o2 free weekend calls contract.ie not including my sat, sun and mon calls in its summarys.
Last one- anyway of getting the radio to play through the speakers without the headphone (antenna) plugged in?
Apart from that the orbit is a cracker phone. Im not having problems with long delays that some others are complaining about, and i regularly use microssoft word.
Recommended downloads:-
SPB Pocket plus ($15)
Superdoku (free) sudoku obviously
Pocket picture 2.2.0.0 (free) wee art prog
SPB Media Play Today plug in (free)
Quincey
there is a profile display built in with the today screen. To get it displayed:
start
settings
personal
today
items
then 'tick' profiles
Hope that helps
I have also moved from a mini s and find the orbit much more of a mobile phone rather than a small brick. Just waiting to get a new memory card to get my sat nav running
Not in my today menu!
Take a look at PocketZenPhone.

O2 Orbit Niggles

Ive had an O2 Orbit for a few months now, and have to say its the best phone ive ever owned, I used to own an XDA Mini S.
However just a few questions.
1) My wifi disconnects all the time, literally withing 1-2 mins of connecting to the wifi, I have no idea why its doing it, DCHP is set up manually, and im using a Belkin N1.
2) Im using No Data to stop the GPRS from connecting when IE opens accidently in my pocket and ends up costing me £7 a month in bloody errors! But i was wondering with GPRS stopped will I not know if someone has sent me an MMS?
3) Is there a decent Music player that will play music off the network, at the moment TCPMP is the only one that works, but its interface does not really apply well to song playback.
4) Another annoying thing! It appears when I turn the screen off, it seems to disconnect the wifi (although that could be more 1 related), and also turns off the sound, so it means I have to have the screen on in my pocket if i want to listen to music!
Sorry for the multiple questions!
WIFI could be a number of things.....most important thought what ROM are you running? Are you still plugging along with WM5, If you are I strongly suggest you give Tom Codon's Black and Blue Version 3 a spin. This will probably resolve a couple of your issues and is rock solid stable.
IIRC having GPRS stopped won't stop notification of an MMS, I'm sure you will receive a standard SMS message to alert you that you have a message waiting for download, you will need to re-enable your GPRS to download it.
I use Pocket Lan to give me access to Network shares, and have found pPod a pretty easy piece of music software to live with.
Turning off the screen should not affect your WIFI connection, is your WIFI running at full power within the phone, as I along with many others have found that this is the only setting that makes the WIFI function useable.
Take a look at the WM6 Artemis thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=362 and read up on B&B3 from Tom, and BE VERY sure you have read the instructions and use USPL, the upgrade to WM6 is easy and will BLOW you away....

2) MMS is sent over O2 Active (O2 WAP) Internet Explorer will not connect to O2 over WAP so you can leave the settings for that available when you run a program called No GPRS. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=40638&d=1180860606
4) When you press the button on the side you don't just turn of the screen, you put the device into standby. It works differently to your previous device in that respect. There is no work around for Windows Media Player as far as I know, WMP forces the screen to stay on on a dim setting. Take a look at Mortplayer as an alternative: http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=mp_overview&action=view It has settings that allow the screen to turn it's self off whilst in use.
Thanks for replies.
Ill have a look into upgrading to wm6 I was hoping o2 would have an official rom out by now!

GPS Tracking?

Hi, im looking for software which logs where i have been. I have read that tomtom will do it for me, but i don't know how to set it up...
i would be willing to run another program in the background, whilst tomtom is running.
btw, i don't want a program which will upload the logs to a server, just to save the logs locally so that i can transfer to my computer and see where i've been on google earth.
to give you an idea of waht i am looking for, the equivalent on the Nokia N95 is Sports Tracker - http://research.nokia.com/research/projects/SportsTracker/
Any/All help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
TomTom does not do it and yes, you can run more than one GPS application at the same time.
Take NoniGPSPlot.
It's donationware. That means you get it for free and may spend money, if you want.
Thank You
gee, never thought about needing it, now i dont want to miss it! thanx
Another application to consider is the very versatile Fransons GPS Gate, it is not free but can easily log positions and allows you to run multiple apps feeding from a single GPS device, you can even stream your GPS data to another PDA or PC using this software http://franson.com/ - Mike
I am using Reperion Basic. It is free.

Also an option :

Thanks for the replies everyone.

CARPC + HTC how to?

Hi @ all
I'm using a HTC TYTN II and want to connect it to my CARPC (full working normal PC) to make phonecalls read and write SMS.
There are a few progs that work with "normal" mobile phones but not with PPCs.
It should be connectable to USB, so I can charge the accu whyle driving.
I tested a remote controller to control the PPC via touching the CARPCs 7" touchscreen, this works okay. But I need a prog that will give the sound form the PPC to the CARPC and the microphone input from the CARPC to the PPC.
My fav. would be a programm that can fully control the PPCs phone functions and but not required the sms functions.
I think you know what my problem is, and sorry for my bad english I'm from germany.
Man, I just started working on the same project! Although I only want to connect the PC to my in-dash display for simpler things like Slingbox, web browsing and talkstreamlive radio.
I found this in my searching...
http://www.sparus-software.com/Device-Management/Products/EveryWAN-Remote-Support,43/index.html
Hope this helps and keep in touch as you progress and I will too!
Thanks
